Update from previous post. One month since I came off lisinorpil. 40 mg per day. I halved my dosage every three days until I stopped. Coming off the drug was worse than quitting smoking. I stopped smoking 3 years ago, not one puff since.
Lets review results.
Heart palpitations - gone
abdominal pain - gone
Stamina - returned
Brain function - returned
running nose - gone
allergy symptoms - gone
erectile dysfunction - gone
starting to lose the weight, 4 years ago 185, max 224 on nov 2008, now 215
normal bowel movements - returned
I actually feel like I remember. I see a chiropractor once a month and went yesterday. She asked me what I was doing differently from my last appointment. Looked like I had lost weight, coloring better, spark in step and face. whole body was less tense. Listen to your body, it will tell you when somethings not right. The only thing I have changed is stopped taking lisinopril. I still take 25mg of hctz. BP is stable. today 130/79.
My ex MD is still puzzled by the results.

I have been taking L for about a 9 months and dealing with many of the same effects mentioned on this board; lethargy (hard to get up in the morning), irregular heart beats, erection issues, loose stools (wiped my ass raw at times), limb tingles, etc, etc, etc. I forgot to take it yesterday, didn't take it today and wow, my normal bowel movements are back (one wipe ;o). I am going to stop taking for a while and see if the strange heart beats stop, Bummer of it all, is that the drug did wonders for my 190/80 bp. Within a week L Iowered it to 120/70. I have always been borderline (even as a high school and college athlete). I am guessing I will need to try another drug, but which one? I have actually tried others but none worked as well as L for the bp.

I'm 36 and have been on this med for about 1.5 years. I've had some mild sporadic side effects on going but thought they were just my failing health! Chest pains, tingling in my hands, arms (my left arm bothers me more and scares me of course), my legs and even feet. I have insane muscle spasm/cramps. I have twitches and spasms in places I had no idea were even muscles. Backaches, head and jaw aching, blurred vision, feeling hung over and drugged, tired and require at least 9 consistent hours of uninterrupted sleep if I am to feel okay for half of the day. No energy otherwise, pain in my feet now when I walk, heart flutters and twitches and neck spasms and pain all over my body. I've been in the ER a number of times with them unable to find me ready for the heart attack I think I'm having. I've even been depressed and suicidal with feeling this bad. These symptoms increased in discomfort and My bladder/uterus are enlarged/swollen and morning urination especially is painful even if I have not much to evacuate. I noticed that these symptoms grew more frequent and stronger and the past few months I literally thought I was going to checkout any day. I was just waiting. I thought, oh well, you're on meds for bp, but you got on too late. Your time is up. I noticed also that right after I take my pill I feel worse. So I feel the best (which is not really at all) right before my next pill is due. After reading everybody elses problems with this med, and that it's actually made from snake venom, I am going to as safe and painless as I can, wean myself from this junk. Who in their right mind would give snake venom to people? If you get bit by a venomous snake, these are exactly the things that are effected. Your nervous system, your heart, breathing, blurred vision, etc. My only fear is that having these symptoms now for this long have done permanent damage. I pray not.

I have not taken Lupron. In fact, I refused to take it at my doctor's insistence. I am a healthy 45 year old woman - why would I give that up for a temporary fix (6 months at most) for my endometriosis when I may have other options?

I don't want to trade my low blood pressure, healthy body weight, healthy bones, ability to sleep, clear skin, normal bowel movements, lack of severe migraines and lack of irritability for lack of endo pain.

I do not discount the endo pain - it can be crippling - but so is this drug! Everyone must make their own decision regarding whether or not to take Lupron but please, please do your research. Most doctors don't let you know that you have options. Call the Endometriosis Organization and ask for a specialist in your area. Endo is a little-known and often misunderstood disease. Find yourself a surgeon with a great deal of experience with endo - NOT an OB with a great deal of experience delivering babies.

It really upsets me to see so many women feel that they have to pay this price to relieve the pain. I am going to an endo specialist for a second opinion in a couple of weeks. I don’t know what he’ll say about my case but I am pretty sure the answer won’t be Lupron.

I am not usually a person who senses a doctor or a drug company is unethical, but remember, there will be no greater advocate for your health than yourself! Educate yourself, and ask your doctor lots of questions. If your doctor gives you a hard time – find another one. It’s your body and you have to live with the consequences.

I am so glad to read about people who take Questran. I was given Questran several years ago. But not for Cholesterol. The Doctor gave it to me because I had diarrhea all the time . Itake 1 packet everymorning. If I didn't I would not be
able to leave the house until I took something to get the diarrhea stopped. I have no side affects from it. An now I have normal bowel movements. I had been sent to specialist
after specialist. and none of them could find out what was wrong. and then 1 Doctor put me on Questran a long time ago. And just saved my life. I would not do without Questran.
