I have been on Lisinopril for 6 days...taking 20mg along with norvasc 5mg. I don't have headaches usually and the last two days I have had sharp and very painful headaches, my throat started hurting yesterday and I had cramps in my abdomen, sides and legs so severe that I cried last night and I could not sleep. I am glad that I found this website. Besides all that, if I walk more than a few steps I feel as if I have to lie down and my heartbeat is very high. It is not the Norvasc 5mg....I have taken it for 3 years or so.

Calling my doctor and changing meds....it did reduce the BP, but I can't put up with this pain.

Started taking Norvasc 5mg about 6 weeks ago. Had mild headaches and darkened urine. After my 1 month follow-up w/my physician, dosage has been increased to 10mg in hopes of a better BP reading. After about 5 days of taking the higher dosage, I get occasional sharp chest pains. Should I be worried?

I was put on Lisinopril about one month ago as an addition to my Norvasc 5mg. Lisinopril10. Very soon after I developed a severe cough. As many people have said, sometimes causing violent dry coughing for minutes at a time then causing post nasal drip and more coughing. I stopped the Lisinopril last Saturday, 10/14 and had an appointment with my doctor 10/18. I couldn't wait...10/16 I went to my doctor and she said it was probably that Lisinopril. Now I am taking Avapros...no more Norvasc or Lisinopril.

After reading the postings, my husband and I realized that I had had some of the other symptoms we read about, such as dizziness and nausea, being unusually tired.. Unreal..I don't understand why doctors even give this drug to anyone, knowing the terrible side effects it 'most likely' would have. I still have the violent cough. I work in a classroom and when the coughing starts, it is very disruptive. I need to run for a drink, a tissue, a drop. It really only stops on its own.

My doctor told me not to take anything over the counter and just let it run its course. I dread weeks of this coughing. I sleep in a recliner and still don't get much sleep.

I wish everyone the best....DON'T TAKE LISINOPRIL! PLEASE..there are so many other BP meds out there.

well, Iam only 17 with elevated BP, My doc has started me off with Norvasc 5mg, then switched to Lisinopril 5mg, then 10mg, and now I am the 20 mg. I don't like it, its hard for me to function at school, i get some king of bad chest pains, and hard pressure on my stomach/ribs, i have ecemza and it was beginning to heal up and get better but since I went up it have gotten worse, my BP has lowered a lot is usually 135/110, I am 5-2' and weigh only 135, Ihave gotten these bruise looking things on my legs, puffy legs, lump in my throat, bad cough, mucus in throat, bad headaches, and many other things. I can also see that mostly everyone that left a message is unhappy with this medicine and is way older than me.
