My 6 year old daughter started taking Singulair because the doctor said it would help with her allergies thus would help with her asthma. It seems to help her some with this yet the side effects she begin soon out weighed the benefits. She complained of severe leg pains, stomach aches and trouble thinking. Her teacher begin to express concern that she seemed more spacey, tired all the time and not staying on task. Her memory seemed worse and her grades went from As and Bs to Cs and Ds. Her nose bleed more often and she was more moody. She was very sluggish in the morning and at night could not sleep. We took her off and these symptoms seem to have gone away so we have keep her off the drug Singulair.

I am taking this for a bladder infection, and I have the worst body aches, and burning sensation in the bladder/vagina area. I feel tired, my stomach hurts, and not as alert as I should be, and I feel very negative.

I had a nose bleed which I rarely get, and just feel like garbage. The infection is getting better but I'm not so sure the side effects are worth it!

I had a series of racing heart events for a week and went to my doctor. She said it was probably stress and my heart was very strong. They stopped. I went for thyroid tests. My tests indicated I was well within the safety range. I ususally see a woman doctor who works with her husband, but this time I saw him. He said I was hypothryroid and if I did not take Armour, I would be at a cariologist's office. I got scared. I knew my numbers were good, but I caved. I started on 1/4 gram for a week and then to 1/2 for a week and then to 3/4. On my second night of 3/4 I was awakened 5 times with racing heart. I called my doctor and he told me stay on two. I questioned him as to whether this was appropriate for me and he said, DEFINITELY. I decided to withdraw. I cut back my meds. One night I woke up with a racing heart that gave me a nose bleed and I was very scared. Two nights later I woke up with a racing heart that scared me to death as it was going so incredibly fast that it shot down my left arm. I was afraid to go to sleep and started not being able to sleep. I final reached crisis and did not know what to do. I got in touch with my regular doctor who said I did not need the meds. This was corroborated by another doctor. I have not yet spoken to the doctor who misdiagnosed me and came close to causing a severe heart malfunction for me. I will not return to that doctor and will never even consider taking such drugs again.
I was clearly overdosed.

I was taking allopurinol for 10 days and on the 11th day I had two BAD nose bleeds and on the 12th day another BAD nose bleed. The Dr. in the ER did not do anything about it because it had stopped. I did experience what the ER Dr. thinks is Vaso Vagal in the ER. I stayed in the hospital overnight and did a stress test, but on problem was found. I waited 7 days and started on the allopurinol again every other day, On the 7th day again a BAD nose bleed. I again stopped the allopurinol and after 4 days no problem. I also take one Hydrochlorot daily and two Urocit-k two times a day for Kidnsy Stones. Is there any information about what I have experienced? I am not at this time taking or going to take allopurinol. Thanks Samuel A. Holoway

My husband and I had the pleasure of raising a beautiful, very smart grandson for the past 3 and a half years. Hunter had CP and epilepsy. Most of his siezures would last at least an hour which meant ER visits regularly. He took Keppra and Carbatrol and experienced few side effects from these medications, but still had siesures about once a month. Then he started having siezures more often. He was put on Topamax as an add on drug. He built up slowly to 150 Mg per day split into twice a day doses and still had two more siezures so 50 more Mg was added. During the time Hunter was on Topamax he suffered many side effects such as slurred speach, uncoordination, wetting his pants, agressive behavior, and lathargic. He was 5 years old and to young to discribe some of his symptoms. Everyone noticed that he was not the same child as he was before taking Topamax. We were very concerned and did discuss our concerns with his doctors. They felt that it was his body getting adjusted to the Topamax and that the symptoms would lesson when his systom leveled out. I did read that Topamax may cause nose bleeds and if he had a nose bleed to take him to his doctor. He had no nose bleeds till the morning of July 6,2005. I always slept with him because most of his siezures occured at night. It was just habbit for me to check him often if I woke up before he did. On the morning of July 6,2005, I got up at 6:A.M. made sure Hunter was okey and was getting things together for a trip to Magic Springs, an amusement park. Hunter was so excited the night before and all he could talk about was the fun he was going to have at Magic Springs. At 7:00 A.M. I checked on him. He was still asleep and okey. Again at 7:30 A.M. he was checked and was still sleeping and was okey. Twenty minutes later I went in his room to wake him and get him dressed for our trip. Hunter was laying at the foot of his bed face down in a pool of blood. When I turned him over blood was coming out of his nose massively, his face was blue. 911 was called, I did CPR on him till they got to our home, the EMT's did CPR and transported him to the ER. The doctors in ER tried to save him also. Hunter died July6,2005. When Hunter had his first nose bleed it was so massive no one could save him.

I started taking Singulair for moderate to severe nasal allergies about 2 to 3 weeks ago. I found this site because I googled "Singulair" and "dreams." For the past week or so, I've been having some of the most bizaare dreams I've ever had. I wouldn't really call them nightmares, though. Also, last night, I felt odd all night, couldn't sleep well - atea half a bagel in the middle of the night, reminding myself to really chew and swallow (since I was half a sleep) so I wouldn't choke- felt like I'd taken Sudafed or a lot of caffeine or some amphetamine or other mind-altering drug...or like I was in the middle of a high fever and not myself....

So far, I haven't seen any effect with the allergies, but I've heard it could take a month. I take Zyrtec daily, but it makes me drowsy, so I was looking for something else. Did the shots for years and years...last time was probably 5 or 6 years ago. Probably helped, but now I need antihistamine every day again...The nasal steroid sprays make my nose bleed...

I think all these central nervous system affects mentioned on this site are really scary....Anything that messes with my head like that..I don't want...Thanks for posting, everyone.

I have been taking lisinopril for about three months and this week I had a nose bleed. My sinus condition has increased so much that I sleep with my humidifier on high. Three times I've had the nose bleed.

Also gave me the "stoned" affect during the peak of this drug. The after affects (which I'm currently in the state of) was a nose bleed, speeding (insomia, "jacked up" feeling), body fatigue, loss of appetite and short term memory loss (temporary inability to form sentence composure, forgetfulness).
