To start off i'm a 16 year old male, I had a very bad sinus infection that crept up on me. I left school at 10:00 AM and went to the doctor, she prescribed Biaxin 10 days 500mg a day I took the pill around 12:30 after eating some soup. The first day I took this medication was not "horrible" I was still feverish from the sinus infection and was just generally not feeling well...

By day 2 I was starting to feel not as great about it, I experienced for the first time the "horrible taste" that everyone else seems to experience, and quite frankly it sucked. All day any food I ate would burn through me within a half an hour of eating, I had to use the bathroom constantly and my stomach would hurt between trips. My sinus infection was beginning to clear up at this point, but I just didn't feel like myself, I attributed it to being sick. I went to bed and woke up several times throughout the night, in between I had very vivid dreams, fortunately they were not nightmares.

Day 3 I began to get all teary eyed for no reason, I don't remember the last time I cried so this was kind of confusing to me, I woke up very dehydrated and realized my bed was soaked through with sweat, I still didn't feel like myself and began to research the side effects of Biaxin. My stomach settled for the most part but I had those other symptoms to deal with.

Day 4 I felt normal for the most part, at points in the day I would get extreme vertigo, nausea, stomach pain, intense sweating at odd periods and once again the tearing eyes came back. Got a bad nosebleed during the day, but that was because I was blowing my nose so much. I told my mom that I wanted to stop taking it and she said I still had to (I was on a 10 day pack)

Day 5 Nausea, more extreme sense of vertigo, did not feel like myself, felt dazed and confused, sinus infection has degenerated into a cold, but the cold isn't budging. Stress of life is getting to me a lot more than usual

Day 6 I am really stressed, I keep getting nauseous, cant think straight, constant headaches, dehydration no matter how much water I drink, food goes right through me, overall it's a bad scene, tearing eyes have stopped however, more depressed than usual, later that evening (I took the meds on a full stomach) after I ate dinner I was sitting in bed finishing a paper for school when I was hit by a bout of vertigo and nausea so bad that I couldn't even get to the toilet before I began throwing up, this throwing up opened my nose bleed again so it became difficult to clean up... I told my mom I was done taking the medication at this point.

In review, my taste is severely altered, food doesn't taste as it should, I'm still dizzy (on day 8 now but not taking it anymore) still headache and the vertigo is finally starting to fade. I lost almost an entire week of work at school because I was unable to retain the information in class (im normally a good student).... totally screwed totally stressed and the Biaxin is just making the stress harder to handle... I'd give it a 0 out of 5...

I have to say I'm really, really bad with taking pills, so nuvaring is pretty much my only option as far as birth control goes. (plus I'm getting married soon, so I'm hoping that it's not the ring)
I've had Nuvaring in for 9 days now (my first time using it) and I've begun noticing some odd things. I can't say I'm super-attuned to my body, so I'm not sure if it's the ring or not.
My gynecologist says I have Poly-Cystic-Ovarian-Syndrome, which means I probably have cysts on my ovaries. I'm also overweight. Recently I've noticed cramping and pain on my right ovary. I've also noticed slight depression, but I'm also going through finals, so not sure there either. I'm experiencing little pinches of pain in different spots all over my body, especially in my arms, legs, and back. I also had an unexplained nosebleed out of the blue this week, and I've never had one before. (no nose trauma or anything) I'm also noticing I'm bruising very easily, but I'm not sure at all if that is recent. Are these side effects of the nuvaring, or something more serious and unrelated? (or else just stress maybe?)

My daughter 19 has only had two gardasil shots but started having nose bleeds. She would wake up in the middle of the night and her nose would be bleeding. She has never had a nose bleed before, now she gets them a few time a month. I am not having her get the final shot.

Here's what's going on...

I've been taking Zyrtec for years with no problems. I don't have the usual allergies like runny nose, itchy eyes, etc. My allergies make me very sick to my stomach--all day long. It was like morning sickness. I was on polaramine for many years and they discontinued it, then I found Contact and then they discontinued the ingredient that helped me that was in Contact. After trying a few other OTC and prescribed antihistamines, Zyrtec was the only one that helped me.

Since I have started taking the OTC Zyrtec (not to be confused with OTC Zyrtec-D), I've been getting terrible irregular heart rhythms...what happened??

Can anyone tell me if the product has changed since they went OTC? And what is in Zyrtec that makes the heart go crazy like that? It's very annoying. I'll have to start trying all different meds now to find one that works.

Wow. I am so relieved to find people like me ! I got the IUD when my son was 6 weeks old and It has been over a year and a half. ( I cannot take regular birth control because it affects my blood pressure)I thought everything was great with it at first- no period- no fuss. but when you have a new baby you are just exhausted and your body does weird stuff anyway. Most of the symptoms I noticed started in the last 2 months. I did not contribute them to the IUD because I have hypothyroidism and I thought my meds needed adjusted. I have not been able to lose weight despite trying- VERY FRUSTRATING! I was exhausted a lot of the time- sleeping 9 or 10 hours a night and still tired. My hair was falling out but not an extreme amount- I started having dizzy spells- No Sex drive- yuck! and I had spotting for over 2 weeks. So I had my thyroid checked and all was well and all I could think was " what the heck is wrong with me?!?!?!" and I found this site. Luckily I had the IUD removed 2 days ago because we are going to try again for a baby- I have felt ok- the first day I was still tired and I had an extreme nosebleed which I have never had before?!?!?! You know I think it is just safest to use natural methods of birth control cause all this medication can really mess you up!

My 3 1/2 year old son has been on Singulair for 4 days now. Needless to say, I am grateful to have stumbled across this website when I googled "asthma medications, nosebleed" after he had the first spontaneous nosebleed of his life, yesterday. Since this had never occurred before, I wondered if his meds could have something to do with it. (He is also on Flovent and Ventolin as he has just suffered his second asthma episode in a month. He has been on both these meds before and I have not witnessed any notable adverse effects with these)
I have also noticed a slight shift in his attitude and willingness to do as he's asked since day 1 of Singulair. This is extremely unusual for my very sweet, cooperative, focused child. He also stated today that he did not love his older brother, whom he adores. He has actually hit me and kicked me on several occasions, which is so unlike my little momma's boy, it had me wondering about the Singulair even before I came across this website.

I am also wondering if anyone knows whether Flovent or Ventolin can cause extremely frequent urination? He is running to the bathroom every few minutes at times. (this was happening before starting on Singulair)
His urinalysis shows that he has no bladder infection and sugar is normal. Help!!!

i am 25 years old and have been on orthotricyclen for years. i quit taking the pill about a year ago when i became single. three months ago i met the most wonderful man ever so i decided to get back on birth control. my doctor suggested the NuvaRing. sounded interesting so i decided to give it a try. she suggested that i leave it in for a month at a time, (taking it out and immediately inserting a new one at the first of every month) i find it hugely strange that so many women on these posts have been recommended to leave it in for such different time intervals. some for three weeks, some for a month...and some for three months at a time!!

for the first month i had extreme lower back pain, awful headaches, an eye twitch or two, and just had a nosebleed the other day for the first time in like 10 years!

for the year that i was off of birth control, i was so happy. i was on the pill for almost 9 years! since starting the NuvaRing, i think i cry hysterically like 4 times a week, when before it was almost never (once a month). my boyfriend is starting to think I'm crazy. i can't even have a simple adult discussion with him without losing it. i have also yelled a a few people at work recently.....not like me at all!

i took the ring out a week ago and do not plan on using it anymore. the symptoms have not stopped yet, but I'm hoping i will be back to normal soon.

i also had my period for three weeks when i wasn't supposed to and now is the "off" week and i have nothing but spotting. definitely do not feel like the NuvaRing is good for me at all!

My 8 year old son began using Advair this year after a bout of wheezing sent us to Urgent care. When he was finally officially diagnosed with Asthma this fall, our GP gave us Advair again. My son did great as far as asthma and breathing - didn't need his rescue inhaler once. Unfortunately he gained 8 pounds in 3 weeks and his face and stomach began to look extremely puffy. He also had 3 nosebleeds in quick succession, one when he slept which was a much larger nosebleed than he'd ever had before. I immediately discontinued his use of Advair when I went online and looked at the side effects. Unfortunately I had to talk to the nurses at my clinic several times to explain to them that I was CERTAIN an 8 lb weight gain was not normal and that I was no longer giving this medication to my son, no matter what our GP said. It seems that the clinical trials didn't show weight gain as a significant symptom, but later reporting by doctors has shown it. Doctors don't seem to have this information!

I started taking Singulair 2 years ago because I had trouble breathing when I lay flat down to sleep at night. My doctor thinks it may be asthmatic allergy symptoms, but he can't explain why it's only when I lay down. Anyways, I had never had a nosebleed in my life until I started taking it, and now I get them almost every other day. Sometimes as soon as I wake up and roll over in the morning blood will pour out of my nose. Many a pillow case has been ruined because of this. I never had nasal allergy problems, but since Singulair clears the nasal passages too, it is making my nose way too dry and causing bad nosebleeds.

Plavix: two major bleeding episodes requiring emergency services: one, a two-hour nosebleed and two, a two hour gastro-intestinal hemmorhage of CLOTTED blood. After stopping Plavix, the bleeding episodes stopped. Events occurred after two weeks on drug.

Been taking this for 3 days now. Side effects to me are similar to taking ephedrine .... makes you a little hyper for a few hours and ur heart beat faster, but also the loss of appetite. Other then that no problems. I take one in the morning be4 I go to work(around 5:30am) and one after I get home(2:30-3pm). I sleep fine(go to bed around 10-11pm). Seems to be working ... drains me out good ... only thing that sucks is my nose is super dry from blowing it all the time lol. My doc paired it with Nasacort AQ that I spray twice in each nostril right after i take the Guaifen pills and so far it's worked great, only 1 nosebleed that just happened today at work but thats because I blew a little to hard heh.

I have received two infusions. I get headaches, muscle pains, back ache, and today I had a sudden nosebleed for no apparent reason. I can cope with the back and muscle aches, because I have had them for years due to arthritis, but the headaches are going to kill me. Nothing seems to help them. Can anyone else share any thing on this? Is it because of the Remicade? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Mickey
