50 Side Effects posted for not ovulating

I had two Kenalog injections (not sure of the dose) several years ago to help curb the effects of dyshidrotic eczema on my hands ... and wound up not ovulating for about three months. This had not even been brought up as a potential side effect when my dermatologist recommended the injections, and she acted as though it was a very small thing when I called about it later on. I was not given a drug information sheet (nor, I have to confess, did I ask for one).

In my personal experience, though, the relief from the pain, blisters, cracking and bleeding on my hands was worth not having a period for several months, but if you're trying to get pregnant or already have female problems (i.e., PCOS, etc.), I would make a point to discuss these things with your dermatologist and/or your regular care physician before progressing with the injections.

My Kenalog experience has been horrible! I had two in January '07 but had an IUD in at the time so I chalked the side effects (excess facial hair, weight gain, moodiness, depression, etc.) up to that. I had my IUD removed in March and a couple of months later things improved. I thought it was all the IUD.
Fast forward to September '07. I had two more Kenalog injections Well it was horrible. I had every side effect I think except for the indentation. My husband and I were also trying to get pregnant and I had no idea these shots could do so much damage to my cycle. I am not ovulating now and had almost no period for two months and now I cannot stop bleeding. It is so disheartening.
I don't know if I would go through it ever again since the results don't seem to last long term for my pain anyway. I just wish I had read more about it before I had two in a row done.

voicesi,
Thanks so much for responding. It's horrible that we all are going through the same thing, but it's nice to know that none of us are alone! The whole situation sucks. It's really making me rethink taking Yasmin after I get pregnant again. My cousin was on the patch and got pregnant three months after stopping. It's just a little discouraging for me to know that I havent gotten a natural period, therefore Im not ovulating. It's scary what we do to our bodies!! Hopefully this crap gets out of my system. Thanks so much for caring!

Hi everyone! I found this site after being on Yasmin for 6 months and immediately quit taking it because everything I read was way too familiar! I finished the pack I was currently on, had my period, then didn't start a new pack. It's now been 5 weeks and I haven't had my period again. Because I didn't get on a different birth control, I went ahead and took a pregnancy test which shows negative. Most of my side effects have disappeared (probably because I was only on it for 6 months...) however, my husband and I have actually since decided it is time to start our family and now I'm worried that if I'm not having a period I'm probably not ovulating either. So, a new fear has developed. Anyone have the same thing happen after getting off yasmin? How long did it take to have a regular cycle again? HELP!!

I have been going through the nightmare that is Yasmin for 2 months now and have been trying to help my body as much as possible. I have been taking a multivitamin plus a B Complex and a supplement that includes zinc, magnesium and calcium. Here is my question: about ten or twently minutes after I take all three vitamins I feel extremely nauseous for a couple of minutes and I have to lay down and wait it out. I have not actually gotten sick but this happens nearly every day. I have tried everything...taking the vitamins together, apart, at the end of the meal and in the middle.

Has anyone else struggled with this? Does anyone know if vitamins do cause nausea and why? I am nearly positive it is the vitamins because the nausea always happens right after I take them, no matter what time of the morning I take them.

Also, is it normal to still struggle a bit with anxiety even if I am not ovulating or menstruating at this time in my cycle? I do feel much much better on the whole, but I just want to make sure that even though I feel quite good most days, that it is still considered normal to have some hard moments. I think on my good days I get in the mindset that I am all better, and then I freak myself out if I do feel a bit of anxiety. I sometimes feel like I have to attribute the anxiety to that time of the cycle, due to coming off Yasmin, but if I am not in that part of my cycle, I get scared that I am crazy and that it is not Yasmin even though I know in my heart it is.

Any feedback from those who have gone through this nightmare would be appreciated!! Take care, everyone. You are ALL in my thoughts, all the time.

Hello Everyone!

Got the results back from my saliva hormone test and wanted to share them with you. I found out that my progesterone is extremely low. This is causing a lot of the anxiety I am having. I also found out that my DHEA levels are extremely high. I would strongly advise anyone who is having horrible side effects from the pill to have your hormones checked. I am now starting progesterone cream and pills. Anyone else have their hormones checked and if so what were your results?

I was curious to anyone out there if your doctor told you you were going through post partum depression? My doctor told me that it seems my sympotms are the same as someone who is going through ppd. Thought that it was kind of interesting because your body is thinking you are pregnant while you are on the pill because you are not ovulating. Same as when you are pregnant. Well, hope this sort of helps some of you out there....It has been about 4 months since off the pill and it seems like this will be a very slow process to being 100%.

God Bless to all of you!!
