What I am experiencing may or may not be the result of the doxycycline hyclate, but I suspect that it is after reading all of these posts. I took a 100MG doxycycline capsule about a week ago late at night ( to prevent Malaria), laid down, and I woke up to discover a sensation of something being stuck in my throat. That was about a week ago...since then it has progressively become harder to swallow and eat. I have experienced some tingling in my fingers, occasional bouts of nausea and discomfort/pressure in my chest that is very noticeable in my chest when I lie down. Also had severe chronic constipation subsequent to taking the pill, but this may not be related to the doxy, not sure.
I went to the doctor today-the PA ran all kind of tests-EKG, throat x-rays, blood, and urine and didn't see anything abnormal. I hope to find out what the problem is soon.

I not sure that what I am experiencing is related to my 9 month course of 750 mg Levaquin, or my simultaneous 9 month course of 300 mg Rifampin, or my 6 week course of IV Vancomyocin twice a day........You all are talking about days and weeks....I have been on these hardcore meds for substantially longer. I became infected with Staph Epidermidis in the disc space of L 4-5 during surgery to correct degeneration in my spine. I am now left with joint pain from head to toe, Uveitis, a scaly rash all over my trunk and arms, stomach pain, further degeneration in my spine, insomnia, severe fatigue, depression, and what I call "brain fog." I have been told by the team of Doctors caring for me that the only symptom that relates to my medication is possibly the Uveitis. I would like to know how you all are attributing the medications to your ailments? (insomnia, depression, fatigue, joint pain... for example) Are you sure that they are not symptomatic of another disease process? After stopping the medications has your health become normal? I have to remain on this medication for the remainder of the year. I do not have the option of just flushing it down the toilet, as someone previously posted. There are only a few medication that can combat my illness, but I would like to know that they are not harming me in the long run.

My son is 4 1/2 and has been on singulair since he was 3. He was diagnosed with asthma at the age of 1. He too has occasional bouts of bedwetting, vivid imagination, dreams most everynight. (Not sure if they are nightmares) Has mood swings. Has digestive issues.
Has had 3 seizures, and medical tests cannot find any problems there. I believe it is caused by the Singulair as well. However, it has controlled his asthma quite well. He has only allergy trigerred attacks now, and very seldom. I will just have to seek God's guidance in what's best for him at this time, until he eventually, and prayerfully outgrows this. I ask God to guide you all in your search for answers. I will check back for updates.
God bless and be with you all.

I have been off of Yasmin for about three months now... Unfortunately I am still having blue days and days where i feel some anxiety. Nothing like before when I was on the pill and had anxiety attacks, but occasional bouts of feeling very nervous or kind of depressed. My question to those of you who have been off of the yasmin for some time now, HOW LONG DOES IT REALLY TAKE TO BE BACK TO NORMAL? I am totally off BCP's all together now and I am anxiously awaiting the arrival of my old confident self!

I was prescribed Levaquin for bronchitis, which I get about once a year. It cleared up my yellow phlegm within a day, and I felt great--for a day. Then I started feeling utterly exhausted and generally sore, but strangely full of energy. My stomach wasn't very happy (nothing major, but irritating). I feel lightheaded all the time as if I haven't had anything to eat in days and get dizzy if I stand up or move too quickly. I normally have tinnitus in my left ear (I only hear it if it's very quiet), but now I have occasional bouts of tinnitus in both ears--pretty loud, randomly, with different tones and duration.
I was also prescribed Histussin, a cough syrup with hydrocodone in it. Normally, codeine knocks me out. I didn't feel remotely tired after taking the Histussin, which is odd since I've had it before (in conjunction with Augmentin--which I have had very nominal side effects with).
I feel *worse* after taking the Levaquin than before. I am having my doctor stop this med.

I have taken Aviane for about 10 months. My mood seemed relatively normal for a while, but slowly worsened, and for the past five or six months I've been extremely emotional and depressed. I've lost a lot of the zest for life that I once had. I have occasional bouts of happiness where I feel like my old self (usually during the placebo pill week), but the second something goes wrong, I get a very negative attitude that it is impossible to snap me out of. I'm often sarcastic and irate, and the littlest thing will set me off. After reading so many reviews by people who've experienced the same thing, I'm hoping that my BC switch will help me feel like myself again. If not, I'm going off birth control altogether. Life's too short to be angry all the time, and the pill isn't worth it.
