I am a 44 year old female with diabetes. I have high blood pressure and as a precaution was prescribed simvastian(zocor). I have only been on it for about 3 weeks...I have been feeling tired and very moody lately...but yesterday I woke up with my right leg swollen from the calf down my foot with severe burning pain and numbness. Now I have experienced Neuropathy in my left foot for years and somehow thought maybe this pain and numbness and swelling had to do with that...until this morning when I woke up to a severe pain in my right calf ( I immediately thought blood clot).. well I have a doctor's appt tomorrow to see what this is....right now Im sitting at work in so much pain and discomfort I want to cry...my feet are burning, my right leg and right shoulder are in burning pain...and my hands are numb and burning and in pain. I have to sit for hours at a time and cant just take a break when I need too...Ive only been taking this medication for 3 weeks and can not believe that all this pain and burning is from one little pill. Has anyone else had severe swelling from this medicine. Any other diabetics taking this medicine and having the same side effects? Im certain they are going to want me to stay on this medication and at this point after reading all these wonderful post, Im going to stop...Im even having difficulty in typing this post my hands hurt so bad. Im so angry that when I asked my Doctor about side effects he never mentioned these. he told me about being nauseated, constipated and so one...Ohh and I have also gained about 10 pounds in 3 weeks without changing my eating habits...anyone else have that? Thank you for letting me vent here. I was scared to death until I found this site. I was seriously considering leaving work and going to the ER room...Now Im just going to stop taking it and waiting this out till tomorrow....

wow....I am so happy i found this page. I just texted my boyfriend saying I'm going crazy I'm taking my ring out! And then I find this page!!!
Ive been on the ring for about 2 years....but right now after two weeks of having it in I just had to take it out. My nipples are sore!! And my lower tummy is bloated ohh and I haven't been sleeping well! :( . I freaked out and took the ring out to have my period. But while I am on the ring I do get so much more irritable! And recently I've been waking up so early! I'm only 20! I love to sleep!! But sadly I can't. I love the easy image of nuvaring but hate these horrendous side effects.

I had the Mirena put in last year and since then it's been anything but good. I had consatnt spotting to light periods that would last weeks and I would be flow free for one day maybe two days if I was lucky. After, about 9 months with no change I was put on birth control pills to help regulate my cycles, Ohh how could I forget the Mirena also caused the worse cramps EVER I had them on a daily bases. Anyhoo, The pills didn't help just caused more problems. It ended with me having to have it taken out because one night I was having sex with my hubby and I got a very painfull feeling on the left side of my vagina. The doc said I had to have it out right away and it turned out the mirena was slightly bent and was rubbing against my insides and my hubby just shoved it more. I got and infection and it was painful to have it taken out. tear...

I have been taking ultracet for my menstrual cramps for quite some time and, like a lot of you here on this board, I have had some pretty weird side effects. First, the insomnia...ohh boy...I just lay in my bed and listen to the fan go whirrrrr whirrrr until I feel like it's talking to me in some robotic language. Then, the itching starts and my hands are constantly busy relieving various body parts for a few hours. I do warn you though, DON'T TAKE ON EMPTY STOMACH...I did this once and puked big time! It was no fun. Other than these weird occurrances, this is the only medicine that has helped the pain. I wish I could get Lortab, but you know...

OMG!!!!....This Is Totally Happening To Me Too. I had my Mirena put in in 2007 and ohh for the past year or so I have started having Excruciating Pain in My Left Leg, Lower Back, upper thigh all the way to my foot...Also I have had to go to the ER quite a few times with Migraine pain so bad it was incapacitating. I have just called my Doctor and am going to insist this thing be removed..Thank you for the Info...I hope this puts an end to this PAIN!!!
