Approximateley 1 year ago, I went to the emergency room and was treated with lisinopril for hbp. The following day I woke up with a terrefic migraine and cramping in both legs. I learned via internet that it contains the venom of a Brazilian Piper snake. Now, one year later, I am still having the cramps. Patients should be told what is in the products that we are being given. I only had two pills but it has changed my life. I am still suffering with leg cramps. They are poisoning all of us.

i've been on synthroid for 9 years. started at some low dose and gradually went up to112 mg. get extreme itching all day everyday if i don't take allegra for that.not a rash just itching. that doesn't bother me as much as the fatique. every joint in my body aches all the time. sure there are better days but fo rthe most part it's bad. tried physical therapy and chiripratic care but no avail. they ended my sessions. my legs get sooo weak and my feet burn lower back really aches. sometimes muscle cramps. i'm very negative towards my loving family and it hurts me to do so. can't seem to keep upbeat. soo tired all the time.
is it the syntroid? i used to be very energenic and a doer. now i have spurts of activity in the morning , but then i just can't get motivated. help me any suggestions?

I have been on Toprol 50mg for a few years and thought I had no problems. However 2 years ago I had the lap band surgery and one year later had it removed...I LOST NOTHING. After Dr.s telling me I was cheating and that was the reason, I see all these posting. Further, the medication was just uped to 100mg and ever since I have been itching like you would not believe. The Dr wants me to go to an allergist as he sees no reason for the itching. I now see it to be a rare side affect. I scratch so much I bring up blood! I think I need to have another discussion with my Dr.

Hi Silke and all of the ladies struggling with Yasmin,
Well, it is officially, as of now, I AM ONE YEAR YASMIN FREE! I thank God every day that I read these posts and associated my symptoms with the Yasmin I was taking Yasmin for 11 months. I stopped Yasmin in Jan. 2006 after a near death experience with my heart racing, leg pains and very high BP.

After the idiot doctor thought it was "mental" rather than hormonal, I struggled through 10 MORE months of hell on Paxil (which also almost killed me a month later), Xanax, and Effexor. With these psych drugs i gained 35 pounds! So, November 1, 2006 I went prescription free and guess what... I feel so much better!!!! I joined Weight Watchers and am trying to get back to a normal life, one year later. The psych drugs also raised my cholesterol, so I am working on that. My cycles are 29-32 days now, which I can live with. I am in my late thirties with two kids, a wonderful husband and I really needed to get my life back.
I am so upset that the doctor did not listen to me and refused to associate the Yasmin with the symptoms that I had. Why won't anyone believe me? I highly doubt that it is a coincidence that I am so much better without Yasmin and all of the psych drugs. I feel better now than I have in almost 3 years.
I hope and pray for you ladies every day. Thank you for allowing me to post my story. One year ago, I was an absolute mess because of the pill that my OB/GYN thought was so wonderful.

My doctor gave me Evista and it made me so constipated that she changed my meds to Foseamax I took it for 1 month and had a sereve cramp in my colon that I needed to put a heat compress on it for 15 minutes. Then 2 months had another bout only worse I could hardly catch my breath, again another attack a few weeks later. These were all when I was trying to have a bowel movement. My doctor told me to stop taking this medicine when I told him about other things that where happening along with the cramps. Things to grafic to print. One year later and I still have these cramps even though there are not nearly as bad as when I was taking the medicine. I received papers in the mail that said Foseamax was a drug for cancer. I too was told that if I didnt take this medicine that If I fell and broke my hip that I had a 1 in 2 chances that I would die. What a crock!

Sorry to tell you. I have leg, arm, shoulder, ankle, wrist and hand pain one year later.

Not one of the 20 to 25 doctors I have seen in this past year would ever even allow me to speculate that Levaquin did this to me. Not one! And yet look at this board and a half dozen more just like it. Thousands of people all reporting the same medical symptoms...right after taking this drug!

I know for a fact that almost every one of these doctors hasn't researched Levaquin any more than you or I. They know the general info on it yet they dismiss it as a cause or trigger for these symptoms we are all saying we have and that are all similar after taking this drug.

This massive denial is a crime.

Look how many doctors kept prescribing Vioxx even after rumors and reports were coming in specualting that it was causing heart problems. Look how many doctors kept telling their patients this drug was okay to take until 50,000 died from this!

Doctors can be very, very wrong about drugs. The Vioxx example is the most powerful proof of this. I dismiss their denial of Levaquin. I have to. Tens of thousands of people all reporting the same problems with this drug...simply cannot be dismissed anymore. The sherr numbers make it more logical that Levaquin is truly damaging people seriously, than it is not.

This denial is one of the most unethical things the AMA and doctors in this country have ever done.

I am only 36. I had a Laparoscopy and Hysteroscopy of my uterus. I was in surgery for over 2hours. My uterus was attached to my stomach, my ovary attached to my uterus. I had my right fallopian tube all twisted like a telephone cord. My left fallopian tube had a huge endometrioma in it. The doctor put everything back where it belonged, and cauterized some of the severe endometriosis. After surgery, I took Lupron for the recommended 6 months. Yes, it helped my Endometriosis, while I was on it. But, it is now ONE year later, and I am in just as much pain as I was BEFORE I took this medication. AND NOW on top of the endo pain, I HAVE SIDE EFFECTS FROM THIS MEDICINE THAT WON'T GO AWAY. I have had Foot pain since the first shot. I had leg pains, deep in the bones. I have had tendonitis in every limb, it just keeps moving around my body. (Lupron supposedly dries out your tendons) I had memory loss (though that was mostly temporary, mostly words) I had the night sweats and insomnia, though those both went away for the most part. I too was extremely emotional, both angry and upset. I also began to feel helpless and almost suicidal. The pain from the side effects made me feel this way. I gained about 20lbs. I have Osteopenia now, which is bone density loss, everyone should have a bone density test after Lupron. My feet are still killing me though. I wish they weren't, I would give anything to turn back to before Lupron so that I could say no thank you. Good luck to anyone who takes this, but hopefully all these posts will help you decide not to take it. It really isn't worth messing your life up at such an early age. I will never be the person I was before.

After being on Lipitor for 2 years I developed tendonitis in my left elbow, eventually tearing it and requiring surgery. One year later I tore the elbow tendon on my right elbow, also requiring surgery. I was 54 years old at the time and in great shape. I have played golf for 20 years without any sign of elbow problems. Now I am sidelined from golf as the surgery to my right elbow has not worked out that well. I have been off Lipitor for over a year and hope someday my symptoms disappear.

Hi Hill!!

So good to hear, that you're also doing better week by week.

I just wanted to let you know, that I had gained about 40 pounds (20 kg) AFTER I went off Yasmin within 3 months without eating more or doing anything else different than before!! I was totally shocked, because before this Yasmin nightmare I always was a healthy fit and very slim person (I'm 31 years old now).

And my weight is decreasing finally since around february 2006!! It goes down kg by kg (around 1 kg, about 2 pounds, a month) and AGAIN WITHOUT changing anything in my life!!

For me another sign for the case, that Yasmin had messed up my whole metabolism and it's only now, one year later, (got off Yasmin in February 2005!!) finally getting better. I'm still not able to excercise very much, because my body was completely broken down after 5 years on Yasmin. From December 2004 to May 2005 I went through a total hell with 100s of symptoms like muscle weakness, dizzyness, fainting spells and much much more... Well, my muscles are still not back to completely normal. But the weight is decreasing nevertheless, just because everything is slightly going back to normal. So I think you should give your body more time to get its metabolism back in order. As I see now in my case, the weight finally even goes back "by itself", because everything gets back in balance again!!

Best wishes to all of you out there, and all of the Yasmin starters: PLEASE be so careful with this medicine!!! I was totally fine on it for about 2 years, when the first symptoms hit my at once (without realizing, that it was the Yasmin!!). After about 5 years on it I broke down completely and thought my life was about to end!! Listen to your body and stop this pill immediately if something unusual is happening to you!!!

Big hugs to everyone!!

Silke

I took levaquin for 4-5 days more than one year ago to treat a sinus infection. I began to have pain in my ankles, knees, hips, wrists, elbows after just 2 days on the antibiotic. To inquiry, my doctor told me the tendon pain was NOT a side effect of levaquin. By speaking to my pharmacist, I learned she was very wrong, and discontinued the drug. More than one year later, I am still in pain, and have difficulty walking.

I used Efudex Solution on my scalp for 6 weeks. It resulted in a thick dark red scab that had to be removed by a doctor.
I was then instructed to use Bactroban for months . I then had an infection and more antibiotics, Cipro pills. Now, one year later, I am only 95% healed and have a dark crust outlining the area. I would never use this product again. I would have Mohs surgery. If anyone can help me, contact my email address.

Wow! One year later and 15 pounds heavier to a size 3 my whole life, I see that Toprol is the culprit! No one seems to know how to taper this drug from 100 to 50 to 0. Anyone been there?

Thanks

I took Zocor for 60 days and stopped because of pain in both my shoulders, not being totally sure this was the cause but being normally very free of such pains. It took about 3 months for the pain to subside, following stopping the Zocor. One year later I resumed statin therapy and took Pravachol for 60 days. My shoulder pain returned and I developed knee and ankle pain also. I therefore stopped the statins and I still have some shoulder pain after 7 months - the other pains have lessened.

I know that people will post here mostly when they have problems, but from similar experiences of at least five of my friends who have been on these drugs, I am beginning to think that it is a silent minority who are, in general, not posting here!

I note that statins are prescribed universally for high LDL (cholesterol) and also for the majority of diabetics, regardless of LDL levels. Seeing the cost of these pills at about $3 each, there is a huge vested interest in maintaining the position that muscular and joint problems are only occurring in a tiny minority of those being treated.

Took my 2 sons, ages 14 & 8 for poison ivy treatment. Both were given Kenalog injections. We were not told of any possible side effects. One year later, they both have HUGE pits in their injections sites. We did not make the connection until my 14 year old went again and was given another shot. Now he has 2! The first one is about the size of a plum and about 1 inch deep! He is very self-conscious about this and the discoloration is very noticable. I am furious and wondering what can be done about this!

7 days into my Levaquin I began suffering panic attacks, severe dizziness, tinnitus, severe muscle pain, visual problems, nausea, difficulty walking, huge mouth sores, severe body aches and pains, sweating, insomnia, night terrors, seizures, and on and on. One year later I am still suffering from some of these.

I took advair over a year ago to try to help me. I only took it for about a week and it did not help but even now one year later I have an awful sore throat and terrible taste in my mouth that I beleive was caused by advair, and if I really puff my lungs out I get smoke to come out. Go figure and it was supposed to help....
