Wow! I can really relate to this website. I started taking Vytorin about 3 mos. ago. Within a few weeks, I thought I sprained my knee-went to urgent care-came out with a knee brace and crutches. Then my knee got progressively worse - and my other knee started swelling and the pain was so horrible I could hardly walk or move around. Then I got lower back pain - my physician has referred me to an Orthopedic Specialist - but I was crying so much the other nite with my pain - I literally prayed out to God to please help me. He put the thought in my head to go check the internet for side effects and I realized the only drug it could be was Vytorin. I am so grateful for finding this website. I hope and pray my muscle damage is not irreversible. This truly has been worse than anything I could ever have imagined. Thought my life was over. Just stopped taking the drug - I will never take it again.

I had a viral infection and was put on Levaquin 750 mg. After being on it for 5 days my joints began to hurt. I didn't think the medicine caused it and I continued to take it. Until the 7th day I began to research and found this web site. I quit taking it. I was unable to stoop down and it hurt really bad to walk up or down stairs. Regular walking was some painful. I also had some pain in my wrist. I've been off the medicine for 6 or 7 weeks and I'm still having bad joint pain in my knees. I'm unable to perform normal activities. I'm not saying Levaquin caused it; but it's just that when this started was while on it. If anyone knows how long this might last or if it causes permanent damage, please let me know! I will be going to a specialist in 1 week to get this checked.

It all finally makes sense!!! I'm 26 yrs old, have been on 3 bc's in my life for Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome and this past bc was Yasmin. Weird things have been happening and I never thought to link them with the bc but after reading all of these stories it makes perfect sense. Here I'm thinking that I have severe IBS and zero sex drive b/c I'm just a medical disaster but these other woman have opened my eyes. The worst side effect of all is the story that I am about to tell you and I hope that nobody else has this problem. My gyno put me on Yasmin the 8th of Aug. ('07) and at the end of Aug. beginning of Sept. I noticed a big sore knot on the back of my ankle. I thought nothing of it until another one appeared under the skin of my other ankle. I went to my doctor (who is my regular and gyno) and she told me that she didn't know what these lumps were but were NOT caused by my bc. She gave me antibiotics and sent me on my way...one knot went away and another larger one appeared. I went back to her and she gave me a 2nd dose of antibiotics, one goes away and 2 more appear. So this time she sends me to an Orthopedic Specialist who takes x-rays and has no idea what is wrong. He tells me to go see a dermatologist. I went to a dermatologist 2 weeks ago who tells me that I have a blood flow problem. My blood is thick (never had this problem in my life) and has problems flowing back up from my feet in my veins. He diagnosis me with Lipodermasclerosis...ok, so I ask him if this could be caused by my taking Yasmin...YEP! So, I stopped my bc that night. Now I am going to wait the three months for the Yasmin to completely leave my system before I know for sure that this was the cause of the knots on my ankles. Please let me know your thoughts and if anyone has had this same issue. Thank you!

I RELUCTANTLY BEGAN 10 MG OF LIPITOR ABOUT A YEAR AGO. I WAS EXPERIENCING FATIGUE AND UNUSUAL MUSCULAR ACHES AND PAINS SOMETIMES WITH HEADACHE. MY DR. WOULD TELL ME TO STAY OFF THE LIPITOR UNTIL MY SYMPTOMS WENT AWAY. IWAS DIAG
NOSED WITH MILD SUB ACUTE HYPERTHYROIDISM AROUND THE SAME TIME . I BELIEVED THAT THE MUSCLE ACHES AND WEAKNESS WAS FROM THAT. SINCE MY LIVER TESTS WERE NORMAL I NEVER GAVE MUCH THOUGHT UNTIL NOW THAT IT WAS THE LIPITOR CAUSING THE PROBLEMS. I HAVE BEEN TO
A ORTHOPEDIC SPECIALIST AND HAVE HAD TO HAVE MRI'S
X-RAYS ETC. THE TEST SHOW MOSTLY DEGENERATIVE CHANGES AND ARTHRITIS. I AM 52 AND WAS WATER SKIING ON 1 SKI A YEAR AGO,CLIMBING THE WHITE MOUNTAIN APPALACHIAN RANGE, AND MOUNTAIN BIKING AND SKIING SUGAR LOAF USA IN MAINE ON BLACK DIAMOND TRAILS. I FIND IT STANGE THAT I HAVE BECOME A DEBILITATED OLD WOMEN FEELING LIKE 90 IN A SHORT TIME AFTER TAKING LIPITOR. MY DR. CHANGED ME TO CRESTOR. I STILL WAKE UP ACHING AND LIMPING. I CANNOT GET 15 MINUTES INTO THE MORNING PAPER WITH OUT INTENSE PAIN AND STIFFNESS ALONG MY WHOLE SPINE FROM COCCYX TO NECK. WHEN I READ THE SYMPTOMS DESCRIBED ON THIS WEBSITE I WAS SO SURPRISED TO HEAR OF PEOPLE EXPERIENCING WHAT I HAVE. IF ANY ONE KNOWS OF ALTERNATIVE THERAPIES I WISH THEY COULD SHARE WHAT THEY KNOW.
