Started with 25 mgsof Lisinopril in January 2008,started noticing lack of energy and extreme fatigue,By own accord I lost 40 lbs and then the side effects really multiplied.Went to the Dr and they cut my dosage in half.Shortness of breath was the worst, never did develop the cough, but a constant choking feeling was prevalent. Was sent to cardiologist for shortness of breath, all was o.k,sent to pulmanologist, lungs checked o.k,sent for ct scan, chest x ray, still no diagnosis.Blood work said I had heart muscle damage and needed to go to er soon as possible, after three days in the hospital still no answers,A doctor in the hospital took me off of the Lisinopril and i have final started seeing some improvement.Still have problems sleeping at night.

i am a 42-year old woman diagnosed with chronic angioedema and it has become life threatening. the doctors say that it's idiopathic--can't tell what's causing it--and don't seem to know how to treat it (or me for that matter--my primary care doctor no longer wants to treat me, wasn't even kind enough to refer me out, the allergist most condescendingly said that in 20 years he's never seen or heard of someone so affected, and my dentist won't touch me because of my allergy to lidocaine.) i've been living with a daily minimum of 75 mg. of benadryl for the last four years but sometimes i've got to up that dosage to round-the-clock so some days as high as 450 mg. i'm allergic to meat protein, sea food, dairy, sodium and most spices, and certain fruits and vegetables. about 3 weeks ago i had a vegan meal at an indian restaurant and the spices accelerated my condition so on the drive back from the eatery my throat began to close and swallowing and breathing became difficult. i have had about 8 such episodes since then and twice have had to call 911 for emergency treatment to get things under control. on my first visit to the er about 2 weeks ago, in addition to the shot of epinephrine, i was given an iv in which they put a shot of benadryl and a shot of some sort of steroid. the doctor gave me a script for prednisone which was on a sliding scale (low dosage, one week.) i ended back up in the er about 4 days later and was given the benadryl and same steroid (think it started with an "s") again, and pepcid (doctor said it was for g-i and would help to limit the histamine being released into my system. since then, i have gotten the swollen belly side effect which i believe is from the prednisone (the angioedema causes blood vessels to swell beneath the skin but i don't think any swelling of this magnitude can be attributed to that). i have yet to find out if this swelling can be reversed with treatment or will go away of it's own accord. i've tried reading up on the reversal of the side effects but just hear more about how horrific they are--you all are truly in my prayers, keep your heads up!!!--so if anyone has experienced the dissipation of the side effects, please let me know and how soon after discontinuing the drug i can expect this disfigurement to go away. i too am dealing with depression for which i am prescribed but i dare not take the meds--far more too many side effect which with to deal and like some others here, i have no support system. i am the mother of the most wonderful 10-year old girl -- she is my heart and my world--but i dare not have her live with me because of this life threatening/altering/controlling condition.
sharing and hoping for good feedback.
blessings.

My experience with Remicade has not been good. On one hand it did help with the crohns. On the other I developed weakness and tingling in my arms and legs, joint pain, ankle swelling, I have difficulty walking now. I also have numbness on the side of my face and occasional sharp chest pain. I find I am very depressed. I'm at my wits end. It is horrible bing in constant pain. I'm thinking of just going it alone without any medical help. I was better off as a 117 pound, 5-'9" lady with only crohns to worry about. Sure swallowing anything felt like glass but it beats this.

Hi, I just ran across your website. My 11 yr. old son is very much allergic to every airborne thing one can be allergic to. He has been on Advair 100/50 for about 3-4 years now because he has also been diagnosed with asthma. Recently we took him to the pediatrician for what he thinks might be lower chest wall muscle spams. Plus in the past he complained on/off of leg cramps which I attributed to growing pains but after reading your website am not sure. Recently we have him on Prevacid because the allergist thinks he is suffereing from heartburn. Also, yesterday, we took him to get his eyes checked and he needs glasses now for nearsightedness. All could be occurring on their own accord or could this be due to Advair? He is overweight as well and we always suspected Advair and now to hear others say it sure makes me worry.

taking 50 mg prednisone since yesterday - 2 doses only so far. very flushed face and neck, hot from the inside. They are treating angioedema, possibly underlying lupus.

We made an entry regarding our then 3 1/2 year old son in Oct, then Dec of last year. It has been approximately 5 months since we removed our son from the use of singulair, after a year of use. He now stammers a bit, as opposed to severe stuttering, and his aggressive behavior is greatly diminished, though he does still have episodes, both noted in particular when he is going through or immediately following growth spurts. I begin to feel that we may never totally regain our little guy as far as his serenity is concerned, but the differences between last fall when we removed him from his medication and now are remarkable. What has totally returned is his ability to concentrate. Any excess energy is now easily channeled into dancing, jumping, wrestling, and playing music. I Thank God that in the last couple of months, he has once again expressed interests on his own accord in regards to wanting to develop friendships and enjoying the playtimes he experiences with other children.
Is there any physician that would be able to state how long singulair remains in the tissues? My concern is in regards to the occassional outbursts of anger or sudden depression. I will be seeing his doctor this month for his annual exam and will be discussing the symptoms I still observe.

I was taking warfarin for about 2 months 8 mg daily due to a blood clot in my left arm, i also have witnessed headaches, dizziness, always tired and fatigue. I also told the doctor about all this and he said it's not the medicine, I don't know what else it could of been because i wasn't taking any other medication. my life remained the same as previous with the exception of the warfarin. Anyway, i discontinued taking the medication because it was killing me to take it. I will now have to take my chances.
