My dad, 84 years old, was given this drug for a lung infection caused by an undiagnosed agent. That was the first mistake as it had no effect on his condition (The shotgun in the dark approach). I do not know the dose are length of time it was taken. Hopefully not very long. Now hospitalized, barely able to walk. General weakness, vision deteriorating, Carpal Tunnel like symptoms, swollen ankles, pain in shoulder, loss of appetite and subsequent weight loss, and who knows what else. Seemed to be pessimistic about recovery, negative thoughts. "Cannot go on like this" so went to hospital. What a tragedy, turning a vibrant elderly person into practically an invalid. Perhaps effects wiil wear off. Any ideas?

hives, redness and severe itching on hands, fingers, and forearms. Pain in shoulder which I can only describe as feeling like I slept on it wrong. Nerve-like pain in lower legs/shins (not muscular) which comes and goes and is not associated with movement or exercise - sort of like if you had a back problem, but intermittent.

I've been on Levaquin for three days to clear up severe congestion, possible bronchitis. The doctor at the walk-in clinic didn't like what he heard in my lungs, so prescribed this drug (It was a Friday and I needed something before the weekend due to my asthma). My fever has continued to spike, I have cried at the drop of the hat--exhaustion, fatigue, mood swings, and a cough that persists even after three days. Pain in shoulder joint, raw throat (certain foods seem to burn it), and a REALLY bad headache, and stiffness in my neck. I go to my general doctor tomorrow (Monday), and he will hear about this medicine, trust me. It has been a weekend from hell!

recently developed under skin "rash",from ankle and upward on legs, my dr. is now doing blood work for ecchymosis petechiae, I am curious if anyone has this experience while using Fosamax D 70 mg. I am in good health and it is possible that this symptom is not at all related to Fosamax, which by the way I have stopped now for a while and probably won't go back. Stopped due to severe ache/pain in shoulder area and lower, so bad it was difficult to walk properly. Since stopping it I am walking straighter and no ache/pain. Even though my latest bone scan showed my osteopenia was better, I am off the drug on my own.

Severe insomnia, have been two two M.D. sleep clinics. Only answer was sleeping pills. Had pain in shoulder but MRI showed nothing. Chronic fatigue and depression (which is what happens when you go 54 hours without sleep). My daughter had same symptoms and figured it out. Problems started going away 3 days after quitting Simvastatin. Now have to get off of the sleeping pill addiction.

After a month on Lisinopril, I started noticing shortness of breath. Then awoke one morning with pain in shoulder and numbness in arm - thought I was having a heart attack! ER diagnosis was asthma. Advair, methylprednisone (steroids) and albuterol helped at first, but after two weeks, breathing problems all came back. Started using a nebulizer which provided only short term relief and was then referred to a pulmonary specialist. He put my on Advair, Singulair (another side effect horror story), Nasonex, Intal inhaler, albuterol inhaler, the nebulizer as needed. Upon follow up two weeks later, it was all still going on! He rx'd another prednisone pack, but NOW he notices in chart that I was taking Lisinopril, which he said is KNOWN to cause breathing problems - and to stop taking it, immediately. Within one week, all of these horrendous asthma problems WERE GONE. It's been two weeks and I have since discontinued ALL asthma medications - everything - not to mention the Lisinopril. How could prescribing doctor and ER doctor mis-diagnose Linsinopril side effects for asthma! How could I? I would like to think that if they're going to prescribe this stuff, they would be familiar with possible side effects as such. I'm just lucky this stuff didn't kill me and that I didn't get rid of my cat!

I have been on Lipitor ( 10mg) for 4 years-side effects are terrible. I have loss of hair, major pain in shoulder area-and in left arm.
Loss of feeling in feet has progressed from the toe area to the middle foot. Eye sight is affected-vision dims at times. Short term memory loss is increasing, loss of sleep at night due to pain in shoulders. I can not hold my arms above my head for any length of time. I also loss my balance 2-3 times per week for no apparent reason.
Costipation is a continuing problem-I must take a stool softner daily to over come that effect.
I have also experienced small red blister like sores (?) on my arms from time to time. Pain is so severe in shoulders the past few days that standard pain killers ( aspirin, tylenol. Aleve ) do not help. Effective in the morning I'm taking myself off this terrible drug.
