I'm on my 3rd pack, actually i'm on the 4 day break of my third pack so i have my period now. The first month of the pill was horrible, i got breakthrough bleeding the first day of the second week and it lasted for TWO WEEKS. it was just heavy enough to be a complete NUISANCE!!! i had to wear pads and tampons for two weeks and my poor boyfriend was deprived!!! then i got a week break and right into pmsing and my normal period. The normal alloted period is fine, it's short and relatively painless. The 2nd month i had no breakthrough bleeding except for like 3 days (NOT 2 WEEKS!)...and the 3rd month was just a repeat of the 1st month... i had two weeks of breakthrough bleeding...my poor boyfriend i swear. Now i'm about to start taking the 4th pack and my 21st birthday is this month and i will be SOO EXTREMELY UPSET if i get the 2week breakthrough bleeding this month. My boobs have been tender probably the whole time, but it's like they are getting bigger (WHICH I DONT MIND!!)...not so bad mood swings, not so bad headaches. but i get nightmares alot more than i used to. I've actually noticed that my hunger is raging at nighttime and not so much during the day like it used to. My body also kind of feels like it's womaning out... like my stomach is gettting tighter and my hips bigger and my boobs bigger, i'm going to give it this month to see if i get the breakthrough bleeding. if i do, i'm going to switch to yaz and give that a try. I can't afford all the ruined underwear and i cant please the deprived boyfriend :(

I had the mirena put in April 2007, and just had it removed. My side effects were horrible headaches, sometimes 2 a month, lasting 3 days each, accompanied by nausea and sometimes diarrhea. It was awful. I also gained 10 pounds in 5 months and had no energy. I had a little bit of skin problems in the beginning, but nothing too bad. Having it removed was almost painless (just a little cramping). I'm waiting now to see if the side effects go away. My doctor was puzzled b/c he said Mirena is supposed to be side-effect free. He said I could be "one of those people" who react to having "foreign bodies" in their bodies. That could be it, but I also think it was the hormones.

Hello all.. I had posted after being on Yasmin for about a week and now I am into my second month. Last post I reported no side effects whatsoever and now I can say my first period ever on birth control (20 yrs old) was perfectly manageable, 5 days and pretty well painless. Still no weight gain or loss and no change in personality, if anything I'm a little happier because I am not so constantly irritated by my own menstrual unpredictability lol. The only thing I can say that has changed since taking the pill is the appearance of cystic acne... I used to encounter one of this type now and again but in the past few weeks they've been coming in the night, 2 or 3 at a time, usually chin and forehead. Yikes. Definitely a major annoyance but for anyone else who is experiencing this.. I have always found my skin's saving grace to be TEA TREE OIL!!! Love it. I wash every day with a bar of soap called Thursday Plantation and it is amazing (especially if you leave a bit of soap on as a kind of spot treatment overnight). Anyway it continues to be extremely helpful in managing this annoying side effect so that I can enjoy the benefits of a regular period and no pms or cramps, oh and no babies. lol. Good luck to everyone, and remember do your research but don't let all the negativity scare you away from something that could be good for you, because everyone is different. Glad to see some positive posts here this time tho! I will return again myself if anything changes :) xo

I had the Mirena put in in July 2007. I didn't have any problem with the insertion, relatively painless. I bled the first day after insertion, but then it stopped until I got my period 3 weeks later. However, I am still bleeding from that period, about 17 days now. This is a little annoying; however, I'm going to give it a few months as I don't have any other side effects.

Since my last post (13th July 2007) I have taken the medication prescribed by my GP and yes it has helped with my IBS but NO it has not had any effect on my other symptoms which, have become worse and now I rival any upcoming teenager!!!!! With my acne (face, back and chest) mood swings and living in my bed. So today I had my nasty little Mirena removed (Yippee!!!!). It was pretty much painless having it removed compared to the insertion although I did repent and have regular coil fitted again, Ooops!!! Which, was pretty painful but hey no more malicious little hormones just heavy periods again??? I don’t expect changes overnight but I do feel already I have made the right decision.

I seem to have what seems to be irregular heartbeats from time to time. It feels like a couple of painless jolts in the heart and then it goes away.

I am 23 years old and developed allergic asthma almost 2 years back. The side effects that i personally experienced during a month long use of singulair are blue painless occasional blotches on the skin. That ignored because it was painless and the blotches disppeared after some days. Then i noticed that i started to have pain in my finger's joints...it kept on increasing,i was extremely scared by this development so i discontinued the medicine and the stiffening of joints also healed with time. Now after 5 to 6 months, i had severe asthma and the doctor put me again on this medicine, now after 15 days of usage i again got pain in my hands...and the other more disconcerting thing is that i have got an abnormally prolonged menstrual cycle...its two weeks and the bleeding is not subsiding...i think it has definitely something to do with the medicine. Can anyone tell me what if i take reduced amount of singulair i.e 5mg instead of 10mg. May be i ll discontinue the medicine because it is leading to other complex problems.

My husband has been on Crestor since early 2004 then switched to Lipitor this year. He started having low back ache about three days ago and continual tremors (painless muscle spasms) in his neck, face, shoulders, arms, and hands that have increased in intensity. He was told to go the Emergency Room today. They ran a full spectrum of blood tests including CPK, which all returned normal results and sent him home. After clearing it with the Dr. he decided to stop taking Lipitor and see if that makes a difference.
Has anyone else had tremors, muscle twitching, or small muscle spasms with statin drugs?

ALS
There is nothing found on Prednisone causing ALS. They say it is only known the cause 10% of the time and that it could happen to anyone, anytime!
For those who don't know what ALS is: ALS is a neurodegenerative disease that usually attacks both upper and lower motor neurons and causes degeneration throughout the brain and spinal cord. A likely first symptom is a painless weakness in a hand, foot, arm or leg, which occurs in more than half of all cases. Other early symptoms include speech swallowing or walking difficulty.
God Bless,
Gypsi

A day after taking this medication, I developed an unusual, painless rash on my lower body. I experienced vivid nightmares, and actually ended up waking up in the middle of the night and crying. Towards the end of my medication, I developed a sore throat, and an unusual pain on the tip of my tongue.

Rash developed overnight, after I have been on it for two weeks. Spread over chest, stomach, and now it has gone up my throat, shoulders, and around to cover my back as well. Starting to itch a little, but mostly painless/itchless so far. Ceasing to take medicine as of NOW and calling my doctor tomorrow. Also, have noticed sore throat the past few days.

Hello Everyone, sorry to here that so many of us have had such a bad reaction to this medication. Well, I'm on day 4 of a 14 day supply of Levaquin. I noticed on day 3 of taking this medication I have notice a painless swollen node behind my left ear and this morning I felt what could be another appearing almost vertically from the first one. I have read through the side affects over and over again, and the pharmacist script never mentioned anything about swollen lymph glands. My question is, has any had a problem with painless swollen lymph nodes if so, where did you find them?

Hallelujah, its OUT!
I got mine out today!!! I made sure to take ibuprofen before I went in and thank heavens the removal was NOTHING like the insertion! Quick, easy and pretty painless!
I sure wish I could go "au naturel' at this point but my husband and I just can not risk pregnancy right now. I am grudgingly going to start on a low hormone pill on Sunday...
I will post in the future to share what changes happen now that the thing is gone!
Good luck to all you ladies!
