Panties symptoms and conditions

I have had Mirena since Oct. 2007 and ever since have had frequent yeast and bacterial infections. Also my stomach has these gas pain attacks where I feel like I am going to die, it hurts all the way up my back and feels like a huge ball of air is trapped in my stomach. I also have pain all the way up both sides of my chest as this happens. I never made a connection to the mirena just thought I had some weird problem. My strings also disappeared and I had to pay nearly 300 just to make sure the thing was still in there. I was told if he can't get them he will need to do a surgical procedure to remove it- great and I got this to avoid surgery of have tubes tied! I have also been moody, depressed, no sex drive and when I had strings they poked my husband and made sex difficult. I spot constantly and I too have ruined all my panties from this brown old blood that comes out unexpectedly. My husband insists that I have it removed and after seeing that I am not alone in what I am experiencing I am going to see my doctor as soon as he opens. I have been up most the night with one of those gas pain attacks and I am miserable! I recently have been feeling as though something is kicking me in my intestine or stomach area too and I too look pregnant all the time and in fact the 20lbs that I need to loose is all belly! I Had Mirena Inserted in Late July 2008 at 22 years old. I've always been a very happy go-lucky person, optimistic, and I've never had any issues with headaches or acne. I was very optimistic about my decision to get Mirena. I had thoroughly researched it, and it seemed like it would be perfect for me. I WAS SO WRONG! My Insertion was a horrible experience that I would never want anybody else to go through. Apparently I have a thin/small cervix, so my Ob/gyn had to manually dialate me to 1cm. I have a very high threshold/tolerance for pain through 15 years of catching in softball and growing up with 2 brothers and being the middle child. But, this was painful, from the inside, felt like my inside were being pushed out through my abdomen. Then it was in and my ob/gyn tells me wow, your a real trooper most women cant take dilation unless their having a baby, your the only one thats never passed out from it. As soon as I struggled through getting dressed I had to sit down for like 5 minutes. I was sweating, I was dizzy, and I felt like I was gonna vomit and on the verge of passing out. I was in bed for the rest of the day after I fought and struggled through the 7 minute drive home. Over the next month the cramps were horrible, excruciating, damn near debilitating, as well as accompanied with brown discharge that didnt go away for two months and pretty much ruined all of my panties and were not even gonna talk about all the maxi thins I went through (at least 10 a day). So, now it's Mid January and I just set up my appointment to get this dam thing out of me. I'm a big girl as is, I'm 5'10 and I was 160lbs. Now I'm 190. But, I never had any issues with exercising and getting the weight off, I run at least 2 miles everyday as well as 30 minutes on my Ab Lounge and I do extreme jump rope, I just continue to gain weight and I have these massive cravings for food where I will literally get sick if I do not eat. My mood swings are all over the place, I'll be super happy, then hyper, then pissed off, and mean and it's like that all the time. I keep getting headaches at least 3 a week that I can only get rid of if I take medicine and sleep it off. Also my boyfriend complains of it poking him from the inside. My absolute worse complaint, THE ACNE. Before Mirena I had skin of a porcelain doll. Smooth, moisturized, soft, clear skin. After a month of being on Mirena, I started getting breakouts, and then it's just continued to get worse since. I've spent at least $200 bucks on acne meds, and make up to cover up, where before my skin regimine was water and a wash cloth with an exfoliant once a week. Now its a 40 minute process twice a day and it still doesn't help. I have bad breakouts almost 3 times a week on my cheeks and my chin. It's not regular acne either, its big,red, boil like bumps that take forever to go away and some have been so bad that they have actually scarred my face. My skin is now rough, broken out, scarred, and I've also noticed hair growth. Yeah hair is growing on my face which is absolute BS. I see it as I've spent $400 dollars for Mirena to spend about $300 more on preventative meds for headaches and acne, to be insecure about the way I look, have mood swings, and gained weight that cant be lost. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS TO ANYBODY. ITS NOT WORTH TAKING THE CHANCE ON AND HAVING TO GO THROUGH EVERYTHING THAT I'VE BEEN THROUGH. IT IS A DAILY STRUGGLE UNTIL I GET THIS OUT OF ME. MY CONSULTATION APPOINTMENT IS ON WEDNESDAY, I'M 2 DAYS AWAY FROM RELIEF AND HAPPINESS. WISH ME LUCK AND TO ALL OF YOU OTHERS OUT THERE, GET IT TAKEN OUT, DON'T PROLONG THE AGGRAVATION.

Hey ladies, been on Nuvaring for about 3 weeks now... at first I really loved it... hardly notice it is there(had to actually check to make sure it did not come out) and my fiancee does not feel it and it does not cause any discomfort in urination or intercourse. The major problem I have with it, is the discharge it leaves behind! Everyday since I inserted it, I have had a thick darkish red discharge, i have never had an infection and it does not hurt, but I literally had to go out and buy walmart panties because I was ruining all of my expensive panties! Totally embarrassing, feels like my panties are damp all the time,,, and since I work out everyday after work, I feel sooooo disgusting and dirty while I am working out. Other side effects are bloated feeling, weight gain, and a bit of irritability... I am normally a very easy going gal, but I have noticed I can switch my mood in a second these days... man scary to read all these other horror stories... is it worth it?

I too received a Kenalog shot for poison ivy in my buttocks. The nurse informed me it may cause a little indent for a few weeks since I am thin, but will go away. I never asked anymore questions b/c I was so desperate to get rid of the poison ivy and she made it seem like it was nothing.

Well it's been 9 months and I have a HUGE indent where the kenalog was injected! AND it's gotten bigger and deeper with time. Luckily it is under my bathing suit bottom and most of my panties. But it's sore to the touch and sensitive.

After reading posts on this, I sent a complaint to the FDA. Has anyone who did this heard back from them? If there is a class action suit, I am in. It's amazing all the blogs I've found on the Internet with people in our same situation. It's about time something was done!!!

I would have NEVER got the injection if I knew this was going to happen!

I have been on the NuvaRing for just about a month now - I'm due to take it out tomorrow in order to have my period. I haven't had any horrible side effects that I've read about here, but I have had brown discharge. No pain, but brown discharge, sometimes pink...Is this normal? I was just at the OBGYN and she said everything was normal, but I haven't heard anything about brown discharge. The only problem with this is that it's ruining my panties! :)

Wondering if any of the other women are experiencing leaking, clear fluid into their panties every morning. I have had my Mirena in for almost a year since the birth of my twins and every morning since I had it inserted when I first wake up and usually after I stand up a get a gush. I spoke to my doctor and he said it was because I didn't have enough estrogen to he put me on a patch for that. I feel like a true chemistry set these days. I am tired, feeling depressed, a TON of my hair has fallen out all round my face and my face broke out horribly. I am considering having it taken out but don't know if I should blame all these side effects totally on the mirena or if some of it not the hair portion is due to being a first time mom to twins.

Please let me know if anyone else is suffering from the morning gush. The best way to describe it is like the clear fluid that weeps from a wound.

I am a 34 yr old mom of 2 and have had my Mirena for 4 and 1/2 years. I actaully have been having a great experience, but again, have the same weight gain issues with almost no loss, no matter what. MY BIG QUESTION: has anyone else experienced mysterious vaginal discharge and symptoms? Starting about a year ago, I began having mystery discharge and have been to 7 different doctors who have tested for everything under the sun, and FOUND NOTHING. they can see it, keep giving me yeast treatments. etc, but in 2 or 3 months, it is right back. There is a pungent fish odor, especially after sex with my hubby, which Dr's have been saying is normal... MAYBE NORMAL FOR THEM, not me!! I actually thought it was due to a lack of hormones now that my IUD is ending is life.. However, I did have a couple of crazy panic attacks, which I have never had, the dryness for sex and friction is intense, and my hair has been thinning, which I thought was just me... Can anyone let me know if you've had the vaginal symptoms... I know no one wants to talk about it, but I have to ask!!

I am now 28 and I've had the Mirena IUD since Jan. 2006. I have gained 20lbs since. It has to be the Mirena, because I have never been over 135 lbs, even after childbirth, I was only 130. Just recently I started to get bad headaches everyday. I keep Motrin in stock. I normally keep a bottle of Motrin for at least a year, but now I buy one once a month. I was told there were no side effects with this method as far as weight gain was concerned, but I feel I was lied to. You know doctors get compensated for getting us to use these meds by the pharm companies. Seriously though, the Mirena works. I have had unprotected sex with my boyfriend numerous amounts of times, and I did not get pregnant. The thing is the weight gain, the headaches, the increased body sweats, and bodily fluids, **you have to shower more** it's a must, I have to wear a panty liner at all times or my panties will be wet. When the Mirena was inserted, I was terrible pain for 2 months and I blead for 6 weeks non stop. I would ball up in a knot sometimes and could not move. I had to push myself to go to work and school and plus I had 2 little girls. It was terrible. I don't have a period anymore now, I just spot from time to time, but the panty liner is always in place, so that's all I really use. My only concern with this IUD really is the headaches, and the weight issue, I also heard it could make me sterile.. That's is something I think I would have to sue over. I want a son one day.It's one thing for me to not want anymore kids by my choice, but to have the ability to reproduce taken away from me and it's not by choice.....I would be devastated. I am thinking about having it remove before my 5 years is up. I don't miss my period, so I don't know. I would like to loose the weight though, but I have no energy.

Been on this thing about 10 months, recently have been having blurred vision and 2 days ago passed out, thankfully not while driving with my two children in the car. Decided to see if this was what was causing all these problems. Other side effects have been no sex drive, cranky, anxiety, mood swings, eating all the time, breast tenderness, excessive discharge-usually about a week after inserting a new ring- but to the point of changing panties 2-3 times daily and then before bed, headache, back ache- upper and lower. Obviously I think this may be what is causing all of this due to the many of other women that are experiencing the same things, and also that a few of the serious symptoms are listed on the official web site. I have every form of birth control other than the IUD and of course having my tubes tied. I am at the point that I want to try the IUD, but am tired of all the side effects from every one I have ever tried.

Horrriblle gas and a week of baby poop type residue in my panties that I have NO control over. When will it ens. I quit taking it 9 days ago. I really need forthis too stop.

I have had the mirena in for over 9 months, since then I have gained 26 pounds !!! I weigh more now then I did when I was 9 months pregnant !! My breasts have gone from a DD to a triple D, even when I was breast feeding for 5 months they never were this big ! I go months without a period and then when I get one its horrrible cramping and the bleeding seems like its never going to go away, sex drive has gone way down & its also painful no matter what position you try !, my midwife put me on prescription diet pills to help me get my weight in control, i couldnt believe it , nothing has changed my diet and excersize are the same, also I have had major mood swings and repeated yeast infections that my doc said are from the mirena. I have mine taken out on Oct. 3rd I cant wait this thing just isnt for me !!

To all the others with the same reactions to mirena, after it was taken out did you start to loose weight ?

well...well...I am not too pleased with the Nuva Ring either. I have been on it only for about 6 months. I got on it because I didn't want to have to take a pill every day, and due to the fact of everything being said about the Patch I switched to this ring. Well.....I got it at a local clinic and there when you get more of your prescription they ask questions. I told them that I have absolutely NO....ZERO----0---- sex drive Ya, know it's pretty horrible, and disatisfying when your parents to whom are in their 50's are having more intercorse than me at 23....yes TWENTY THREE YEARS OLD! So....I have discharge really bad, they didn't give me anything at the clinic they just said "yes, that is a side effect." I told them that my sex drive has gone from like 5 days a week to maybe if me and my parenter are lucky( to which most of the time we are not.)once a month ONE TIME and I'M 23!!! I have gained weight. and...I sleep ALOT! So.....If you want to have to wipe out your panties, every time you use the bathroom due to your increased discharge, hide your panties when you are in the process of having intercourse and having no sex at all....go ahead!!!! Be my guest, because I'm going back on the pill.

2 DAYS!!! That's it ladies. I had the dang on thing in for two days. I'd found this website on Day1(Monday)...cause only after 30mins of having it in, I was having weird tighten cramping like crazy. Later in the day they subsided...some! On Day2 (Tuesday), it was like a dark cloud was coming over me (depression?). It was no positive thinking going on ladies. To know me, people come to me when their down. I was also bloated beyond belief... Mind you, I'd just inserted this thing after my regular period (following the directions). So, on the 3rd Day Wednesday), experiencing more cramping, more depression, more bloating... I'd had enough. After reading blogs I knew the best thing to do was to REMOVE the ring. When I pulled out the ring it had a thick white substance on it. WTF!!! Then on Saturday, I started having cramps, and would you know that on Sunday, I started my PERIOD, again!!!! WTF, Really! And, this was no ordinary period... it was everything these women have talked about. It had a smell, it was bloody red/brown mixed, and still today (Thursday) I gotta odor and only brown discharge...GRRRRR!!! Messed up 1pair of panties. I'm mad. Ladies, listen up DO NOT USE THE NUVA RING!! 2days = 2weeks of Bull-----. Bottom-line, it ain't worth it. Sadly, NuvaRing was my 3rd and last BC option. I'm off to find those women condoms. Eureka!!!

I received a Kenalog injection in December '06 to provide relief from an allergic reaction. My doctor did NOT inform me of any possible side effects other than drowsiness. Two months later a small dipple formed where the shot was given. I had no idea what it was and just assumed it was a part of getting older (I'm 30). When it began to get deeper, I became extremely worried. It has now been 6 months and the dimple has turned into a very large indentation. I still did not put two and two together and did not think it could have been caused by the steroid injuection. I visited my doctor, the same one who administered the shot in December, to find out what this could possibly be. He said he had no idea!! And even suggested it could be cancer!!!! I came home upset, obviously, thinking I was very sick, possibly even dying!! My sister did some research and found this site, and I am so relieved. But now I am angry at my doctor for not warning me of this possible side effect at the time of the shot AND then diagnosing it as a possible cancer!!! So now I am left with this deformity on my butt and a profound feeling of helplessness. Someone please tell me actions you have taken that have worked, both legally and physically. Will this go away?!?

Wow - I have been lucky on the ring. I've been on NuvaRing for over a year now. My side effects are recurring yeast infections, spotting, and increased discharge.

I was on daily pill BC for 10 years (4 months on, one week off). I switched to Seasonale for a few months and I had terrible depression, weight gain, etc. Then I moved on to NuvaRing. At first I had some cramping and diarrhea, but it resovled quickly. I never had depression or headaches on the ring. However, I have been battling yeast infections. My doctor suggested that I clean well after intercourse and sleep without panties to keep the area as dry as possible. I've gone for 3 months without a yeast infection so I hope it continues to work.

I'm using the ring continuous, but after about 3-4 rings (9-12 weeks) I have breakthrough bleeding. The only way to rid it is to go off the ring for a week, have a light period, and then start again.

I have been of Nuvaring for 2months now and I started getting this trouble itch where the lining of my panties lay and I started my period Sept. 25,2004 and til this day which is Oct. 11,2004 I am still bleeding old blood. And the itch is still there. I itch so bad that some of my skin is missing where the lining of my panties lay at. I know it is not a yeast infection because I do not have a discharge. What is the problem I really like the product but I don't like the side effects.
