Hello I am 30 years old and have gerds, I was put on Aciphex 20mg and the first week i felt a lot better, But after the first week I have been having to urinate ALOT! I have had horrible tightness of the chest, I felt like I was having a heart attack the other night! Very scary, I have since quit Aciphex and started today on pantoprazole 40mg! I hope this pill is a miracle! If this pill doesn't work I am just going to work out and eat light.
I would advise anyone thinking of going on Aciphex to be careful the anxiety attacks and hard time breathing is very scary.
If anyone knows about Pantoprazole let me know asap!

I just stumbled across this site and it has given me such renewed hope. I have GERD and have been on 40 MG of pantoprazole for about two months. My DR suggested taking two pills a day (one in the morning, one at night) for two weeks to see if that helped my lingering problems. It did. So much so I started eating like an animal again. Of course, this it me hard in the throat. In a panic (insurance wouldn't cover two pills a day) I added Prilosec OTC as my nightly solution. I had already noticed pins and needles in my arms and legs slowly developing. Exactly two days after including the Prilosec I was instantly hit with a panic attack and extreme anxiety literally out of no where. I had nothing on my mind and absolutely content moments before and then in a totally different mind set. I had paranoia and abnormal thoughts. I didn't sleep for almost 5 days (with a few hours here and there). I am 31 and have never had anything like this anxiety and like other readers here thought I was going crazy. I stopped the OTC when I thought it was the culprit and four days later I am doing a bit better. Reading the stories here I believe I am stopping the omeprazole starting tomorrow to see if I get even better. I feel like my entire body is shaking from this stuff and it is the only thing I have changed or added to my life. Thank you all for your stories as I was grasping at straws.

I have been on this medication for 2 days; the only side effect I am having is stomach cramps and bloating. Anyone else have that?

I began taking Lisinopril last week. First the lightheaded and dizziness arrived. Called doctor was told to take at night to lessen this. Now I am nauseous and have a strange taste in mouth and the tip of my tongue feels like I scalded it with hot liquid. Calling Doctor to find out when she can see me again.

I was on 40mg Pantoprazole for a year, and then the Doctor suggested I start to take 20mg of Omeprozole twice a day.
I've only been on it for three weeks now, and I've asked to come off it because it's not helping as much as the pantoprozle. I wake up in the morning and I just feel ill.
I've also been miserable, and i've been finding it hard to get out of bed in the morning, and even wake up. I was blaming this on glandular fever that I had earlier this year. But then I started thinking it might be something to do with the change in medication.
As well as tiredness, and acute depression, I've been irrational, extremely itchy, my skin has broken out in spots (mostly face, thighs and neck/chest area). My vision has also started to blur slightly, which I thought was just over use of computers (because i'm a graphic designer).
Once I switch back to Pantoprozole I'll start to see if these symptoms were the Omeprozole, which I think they are.

I have been taking Omeprazole since December 2007 now so 2 and a half months.
I had the dose increased to 40mg 3 weeks ago as 20mg wasn't curing the burning in my throat.
For a few weeks now i have had increasing vertigo/dizziness and palpitations. I only linked the 2 to the medication just yesterday, googled it just now and confirmed my suspicions to the Omeprazole.
Other feeling i have had since taking this medication...
Severe dizziness
vertigo
palpitations
headaches/migraines
weakness
fatigue
sweating
nausea
bloating
stomach cramps
visual problems
intolerance to bright lights
aching joints
chest pain
Now my question to myself is do i come off the tablets and endure the misery of my acid reflux? surely there must be something else we can take for our stomach problems that don't cause these awful side effects.
Anyone tried anything else that worked and didn't make them unwell?

I am a 52 year old female and my bad cholesterol is fine but my good cholesterol is low. I have been taking Lipitor now for a few years and have numb hands and feet to the elbows and knees. My feet are extremely sensitive, worse at night and now I'm getting sharp pains that feel like a bug just bit me. My tongue is also always numb and I do get migraines.I have insane stomach issues and food intolerance. I also take medication for high blood pressure, acid reflux, & thyroid. I have now been diagnosed with type 2 Diabetes but control that with diet so far. Until four years ago I had nothing wrong with me. I am slim and healthy. I had a lump in my thyroid which was removed and there was a trace of cancer. Then like dominos all the other conditions lined up. I have had MRIs and all the tests and doctors insist that I am not a severe enough diabetic to have neuropathy. I can hardly wear shoes now and it hurts when I wear runners while I walk and exercise. Does any of this sound familiar to anyone? I hate that my health has become so much a part of my daily life. Does anyone have neuropathy as a result of Lipitor and am I even taking the the right medication since I don't have high cholesterol?
