Just resumed my 25mg of toporol XL after a miserable 5 day trial on lisinopril. My main symptoms are PVC's, chest tightness (chronic), lightheadedness. These seem to be somewhat helped by the medication, and I wonder about upping it to 50mg (MD fine with that), but I really don't want to be on it. Originally put on for high BP (150/90), and persistent PVCs. I need to lose about 40 pounds to get the BP back to normal, but if this toporol puts the weight on that is truelly a catch 22. Anyone find any supplements that could be helpful? Please feel free to email me. Thanks Liam

I was prescribed levaquin for pneumonia and 8 hours after my first dose began having hallucinations, both visual and auditory. They were very violent and gory, I felt like I was possesed. Then the paranoia set in, quickly followed by an extrapyramidal response. Basically, I looked as though I had severe parkinsons disease, uncontrollable muscle jerks and twitches in all of my limbs, including fingers and toes. This is a known (rare) side effect of the drug. It was a very scary experience for me, and I just am thankful that an IV dose of benadryl did the trick.

My father is 70 yrs old and was on Lipitor for over 4 yrs. He started developing muscle pain and stiffness after being on this statin drug for about 3 and a half years. However being on this medication for such a long time the damage done was quite severe. He will never be "normal" again and he will propably be on the steroid prednisone for the rest of his life. He came off of Lipitor a year ago. He started noticing that he had tremors in his hands, twitches in his face, a stiff neck and these symptoms are only getting worse. It looks like he has developed Parkinson's Disease since coming off the Lipitor. Is it possible that the Lipitor induced the Parkinsons Disease? I am his daughter and I am trying to find some answers for him as it is really bothering him. Besides the tremors he has a very poor memory, he gets confused very easily and he will not go anyplace by himself. We first thought that it might be the start of Alzhiemers but after reading the symptoms of Parkinson's disease he symptoms sure do fit much better than with Alzhiemers. Any information you may have for me would be greatly appreciated. What medications or natural supplements would help these symptoms that he is experiencing.

My sister was started on Lamectal several months ago. She THOUGHT that she was feeling OK except that her mouth had begun twitching uncontrollably. Her family thought that she was acting "kinda weird". She saw a neurologist about the twitching and to make sure it was not Parkinsons Disease or such. It was not so the Psychiatrist put her on Cogentin. After less than a week she was not sleeping, had slurred speech and was running into walls. She was cooking spaghetti for breakfast and began seeing witches and angels and talking on cell phones that were not ther. We took her to the hospital and all tests were negative. The Cogentin was stopped, the hallucinations stopped and her balance improved but she remained with the following symptoms...she had difficulty mentally focusing on anything for longer than about 5 minutes, blurred vision and forgetfulness. I sent a note to her Psychiatrist and the Lamectal was stopped. She has been off of it for a few weeks now and says that she has large periods of "missing time" or amnesia for events of the past several months since she began taking the Lamectal. Her speech has returned to normal and she is focused again...
