I was prescribed this poison for a uti and a week later I was prescribed again for bronchitis. My "Doctor", and I use the term loosley, didn't bother to tell me of any side effects or even as much I should take with food or at night to help with upset stomach. I now truly believe that the pharmacutical rep told her that it was an effective drug and she said "Well, ok then, lets give it to some people. I can guarantee that if asked, she would have no idea about the damage or side effects which as a side note tells me that she cares nothing for her "patients." I hope she is making herself a good living. I have been off the drug for almost 2 weeks and have not had a nights rest since. The pain in my calves is too the point that I can barely walk around the block, I seem to have knots in my calves, my jaw has even started hurting. I have been having horrible nightmares, headaches and a feeling of being lost or not knowing where or who I am for periods of time. If it were not for sites like this one, I would have no idea. I would simply have to trust what my doctor tells me. People, it's time to stop assumming that a doctor knows what he is doing simply because he/she has a degree on the wall. I read in another article on the web that one lady persisted until she made her doctor do and enzyme test to test for muscle damage. At that point he finally started to listen to her when he found that she had muscle deterioration. I'm afraid there will be no looking back for some of us. Anyway, I'm trying to change PCPs today and hope I find a real doctor that will listen to me and believe me and help me with this condition. DO NOT take this poison-Levaquin. Tracy

I have been on Yasmin for 3 years. In the beginning, my biggest problems were acne and nausea (during the first 3 months). Although I did experience some migraines, I did not attribute that to the Yasmin at the time, because I had migraines prior. About a year and a half ago, I started experiencing numerous health problems. I visted with numerous doctors (3 PCPs, 3 GYNs, a urologist and I have just been referred to a Gastroenterologist). Because I just started a new job at about the same time (I am a social worker), most of the doctors I spoke with attributed my health problems to stress.
So, although I cannot (nor is any doctor willing to) say for sure that Yamin has caused all of my health problems, my mom (a nurse practioner) is concerned that Yasmin is the root of most of my health problems. She recommended I list my symptoms on this site to see if anyone else has similar symptoms.
Here is a list of my symptoms to date (based on which symptoms are most bothersome/concerning):
-IBS (alternating diarrhea and constipation)
-anxiety/depression (loss of social life)
-increased frequency/urgency of urination (accompanied by bladder and urethral spasms)
-vaginal dryness
-severe vaginal pain (unable to tolerate pelvic exam and/or tampon)
-nausea
-migraines
-leg cramps
Thus far, the pros of this pill are improved acne and lighter, regular periods accompanied by less severe cramps (the inital reason I went on the pill).
Has anyone else gotten an IBS diagnosis or vaginal problems (bladder problems, vaginal dryness/ pain, etc.) since starting this pill? Everyone is telling me to get off of this pill. I just want to make sure this isn't "in my head" and that the pill could actually be the cause of some of these health problems!!! I am not the same person I was when I started this pill. I just want my life back!!! Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Our son was put on several medications 9/07 due to bad asthma and allergies. Since then we saw his behavior begin to go down hill. He would complain of stomaches, not want to go to school, became increasingly more irritable and has mood swings. He was a good student and we have never had a problem with him attending school. Since 9/07 we have taken him to a total of 10 different doctors. Pediatricians, therapist, allergy doctor and three licensed psychiatrists. Everyone said that we were crazy when we suggested that this behavior was linked to the medication. The psychiatrist diagnosed him with anxiety disorder along with school phobia. This has been a nightmare. I finally took him to an acupuncture doctor as a last resort because the doctors wanted us to put him on Prozac for the anxiety. Our family doctor has even suggested he is Bipolar! The acupuncture doctor has recommended a diet change and some treatments with her so that we can remove him from all his medications. I am so glad that I listened to my instincts and did not put him on the Prozac. I was so upset when this story aired about the Singulair. We have been trying to get the doctors to listen to us since 9/07 about the possible link. They still deny the connection and advised us to not remove him from the medicine. But for once I am going to handle things my way and we have already seen a difference in his behavior. We will keep our fingers crossed and hope for the best. My heart goes out to everyone that has had similiar experiences. These doctors should listen to the parents instead of assuming we are all trying to blame behavior problems on medication.
