-After seeing this website and several others, I made the decision to have the IUD removed, and I couldn't have been more excited and happier to do so. There was no pain when it was removed, and it was very quick. The doctors and nurses that I spoke to about the Mirena, really could have cared less to what I had to say about it. They removed it, and then left the room...yeah, I felt really cared for. Needless to say, I was extremely moody and began my period 1 day after having it removed. I felt a sense of normalcy by having my period, and my body was functioning as it should. It has now been a week and I feel extremely better, although I was told it would take several weeks for the hormone to leave the system. I really am outraged at our health care, and it's physicians, it would be nice to be informed of potential side effects that can occur. But most of the docs will tell you that it can't possibly the mirena, even though you felt normal before insertion, and it is the only foreign thing in your body...Remove it if you have one, don't let it get the best of you..Good luck

Hey everyone my name is Samantha...Honestly my doctor has tried me on several different birth controls and none of then ever worked out for me i always sorta had the migraines and spotting. But ive been on Loestrin now for about 5 months and my life has been a living hell! I seem to have gained about 15 lbs since i started... i only got my period 1 time and it only lasted for about half a day. I find myself eating more and i am extremely depressed and have had horrible mood swings. I fight with everyone who comes in my path. I hate the person ive become and so dose everyone else. My Family doctor tried me on a few different antidepressants and none worked. So I came to the conclusion that am going to have to change my GYN to some one who will actually listen to me and get off the horrible drug! I think they should remove it off the market!

I took YAZ for 2 weeks and for the first week i felt kind a drunk and experienced mood swings, crying ,fatigue, dizziness, migraines.intense anxiety, panic attacks and depression and severe Acne on my face and back. I decided to get off Yaz 3 days ago. I am still experiencing many of these symptoms, and yesterday while shopping I got really panicky and turned pail and dizzy thought i was going to pass out :( that sick feeling to my stomach.Today I got my period 1 week early. I used this drug in hopes to help my PMDD,but instead it magnified everything i had 10x worse. Im confused??? I called the doctor and she said you aren't even supposed to start getting symptoms of side effects for three months of being on the pill??

i have posted quite a bit on here before, but i have been on femcon for now going on 10 months and i started bleeding a week before my period is due. my period is not supposed to start until June 2 or 3. i am just a little worried about why i might have started my period 1 week early and i am still bleeding and no sign of it stopping. i have cramps, heavy clotting bleeding, sorry for tmi! has anyone else experienced this and should i not worry too much about it? oh and i have had other terrible side effects like major mood swings, crying for no reason, depressed and down all the time. anyway, your input is much appreciated!

Does montelukast affect growth in children? Remember the report of identical twins, one took Singulair and one didn't. If I remember correctly, the one who took Singulair was at least two inches shorter in a short period of time.

If anyone would like a reason to look into that, then I refer you to this study. It could suggest that leukotrienes act on the pituitary to release pituitary hormones. We don't know what happens when the production of leukotrienes are blocked by montelukast.

"Finally, leukotrienes have also been found to act on the pituitary to modulate the release of the pituitary hormones."

"The distribution data of HPN321 suggests major role(s) for this receptor in endocrine and cardiovascular systems. CysLTs are well known for their modulatory effects in cardiovascular functions, where they reduce myocardial contractility and coronary blood flow (Letts and Piper, 1982) and have vasoactive effects (Drazen et al., 1980). They are thus considered to be important players in cardiovascular diseases (for review, see Folco et al., 2000). The strong expression of HPN321 in adrenal gland points at a new tissue where to study the influence of CysLTs on endocrine circuits. Finally, leukotrienes have also been found to act on the pituitary to modulate the release of the pituitary hormones (Hulting et al., 1984; Saadi et al., 1990). Our discovery of the existence of the HPN321 message in pituitary adds a molecular credence to this concept. The HPN321 receptor may thus modulate a variety of different physiological functions, which can now be tested using BAY u9773."

I have been on Aviane for almost 3 months now. I have already experienced depression and severe anger problems. I get mad over the littlest things now and I feel like breaking things... I feel enraged often and feel like hitting the people who make me angry. Also, I have never had any problems with my periods other than cramps. Before Aviane, my periods were only about 3-5 days long. After taking Aviane, I have experienced 2 periods of unreasonable lengths. The first one was a week and a half, the other a FULL TWO WEEK LONG PERIOD! This is insane! I am just starting my third week of my third month and am experiencing spotting which, like before with the other 2 months of Aviane, will turn into another period 1 1/2-2 weeks long! My cramps in addition became worse than before and I developed bad acne. I was previously on Trinessa and the only problem I had with that pill was acute depression causing me to not sleep as well. I told my doctor and he switched me over to Aviane. And in addition to everything, I have experienced significant weight gain and a URINARY TRACT INFECTION! I am a very clean person; I have never had a urinary tract infection before, and it does not run in my family. I believe Aviane is the reason why I have developed a UTI. I seriously advise everyone not to take this Birth Control. I have been on 3 different birth controls and I NEVER had problems with any of the others not nearly as severe as I have with Aviane. Under my personal experience with it, Aviane is the WORST BIRTH CONTROL EVER! I am getting off of it ASAP!

This is the second posting of mine about the Nuva Ring. I went off the Nuva Ring last Sunday as you can read in the other posting. I got my period yesterday unexpectedly (which wasn't too much of a shock because my body is going to be "off" for awhile from not having the hormone intake). I just finished my regularly "scheduled" period 1 week and 5 days ago....so now i've had 2 periods in the last 2 weeks. I've had some minor headaches pretty much every day...i dont usually have to take asprin or anything, but they are noticable. I woke up this morning and my period had been so heavy last night that it soked through my underwear (using a tampon) and that hasn't happened since i've been on any form of birth control (about 5 yrs). Anyways, just thought i'd update anyone who was wondering about some symptoms of taking out the ring (mid cycle). Anyone have questions about it.....ask!

DEAR TWO GIRL MOM,

COngrats you have made it through period 1, just remember thats the beginning of the end, it was hard I KNOW, its was STRESSY i know and the palps were horrible , been there eah month also but you are 1 period closer to being rid of all the bad things yasmin has done.
I too stopped the pill and restarted it i was on it for 2yrs went off and had mirena inserted for 1 month ( pure hell) and then restarted the pill for 3 months before i found this haven of yasmin sufferers.
remember the anxiety and everything is always worse when youre period is due , just after and ovulation so maybe take that into account and you made not need the paxil as high in the inbetween of your cycle ( just a thought) .
My BP is that also if that makes you feel any better and the lighthead i had also for first 3months really bad with the blurred vision.
YOU WILL GET THERE. STAY STRONG

Lisa
