I've noticed that if I take the pill in the morning without having time to eat anything, or with a banana of all things, that I can periodically get an intense upset stomach to the point where I'm hovering over the nearest receptical trying to keep it down. Has anyone else experienced this?

I have been complaining to my Doctor about prolonged coughing that has lasted over 8 months. The cough is so bad that it causes me to vomit periodically. I was put on two different antibiotics told that I may have whooping cough and the only thing that helped the cough was tussinex cough medicine that was very expensive. Whooping cough was ruled out by health department. I told the doctor I could not keep taking the cough medicine so he tried another cough medicine that did not help. A friend told me yesterday that he knew a friend that had a similar cough caused by his blood pressure medicine so I came home and started researching the net and found this site that has really opened my eyes. I called my doctor but he has not returned my call yet. After reading this information I may have had another side effect of this medication Lisinopril of which I felt like I was going to pass out sitting at my computer one day. I hope that I find out the cough was caused by this medicine because it has literally wore me out coughing so much. I have pulled abdomen muscles from coughing so hard and told the doctor but he has never mentioned it could be related to Lisinopril.

I took lipitor, crestor, and a couple of other statins (same stuff) and each time I had good results for my cholestral. However, after a couple of months I became lethargic and depressed. I did not feel like getting up and I was like lead when I did. My memory became extremely bad and now I have a muscle twitch in my left eye( don't know if it was the med. though). I have been off the Lipitor now for about a week and I am starting to regain energy as well as concentration. I have taken this medication enough to be an expert on knowing what it was doing to me. This needs to be banned. Lots of elderly people are not going to know what this is doing to them. It could render them helpless and they want know what's wrong.

I started BP medication for the first time in my life last week. My age is 50, and the elevated blood pressure was just diagnosed recently.
The doctor prescribed Lisinopril (20 mg), which I have taken for the past 7 days. The coughing is NOT something I can live with. I am waking up several times throughout the night with coughing spells, and of course that wakes my husband, so neither of us get very good sleep. I have coughing spells periodically during the day, too.
I did some internet research and it appeared that Cozaar worked similarly to Lisinopril, but without the coughing side effect. I called my doctor and asked if she could switch me to Cozaar, which she did.
I took the first Cozaar pill today (100 mg) and am looking foward to the cough going away. However, it sounds like many of the people on this site had their cough persist for anywhere from a month to a year, after just taking Lisinopril a few weeks.
I will post again after I see what happens with the Cozaar. Meanwhile, I plan to lose weight, excercise and eat more nutritiously, in the hopes of getting completely off BP meds in the future.

I have been taking Wellbutrin, Norvasc, Zocor, Alavide, Premarin. Since having a cerebral aneurysm, my blood pressure and cholestrol is high. I am having hair loss, waves of nausea periodically, and weight gain. Could any of these drugs be the cause of my symptoms.
Thank you
Brenda

I have continued to check into this website periodically. I took two different statins with the same side effects that other folks are experiencing. I took myself off of the drugs even though my cardiologist told me to stay on them. I have zero side effects now and have returned to normal. I got my cholestoral to acceptable levels with heavy doses of fish oil, niacin, diet, and exercise....I cannot take statins and it is obvious others cannot either. My husband takes statins with no side effects...I am amazed at cardiologists ignoring these effects. The only way they will take you off is if your blood shows muscle loss...and, then, it is too late...

I use proventil periodically (5x/month) when I have trouble breathing, typically spurred on by over-extertion, proximity to something that triggers allergy (such as cat). Laterly have suffered from swollen toungue; particularly at night I have trouble swallowing, and when I lie down I feel as if I am going to swallow my tougue. I am not sure if this is linked but doctors can not figure what is causing this swollen toungue. I am taking antihistimine every day (one week so far), but no help.

i´ve been taking zyprexa for about 3-4 years now. i have severe imsomnia & constant twitching. i have extreme nausea & headaches. i´ve noticed that i´ve been happier but i can still feel down at times for small events that happen. i hardly ever get depressed but i hate the weight gain when i first began taking it i gained alot of weight & then for a year or so i was able to control my feeding binges but once again it´s gone out of control. i´d like to get off this medication but seeing that my doctor say´s he hasn´t seen me for over a year (my docs change periodically) he wants to keep me on it. i´m scared about getting diabetes & all the other side-effects.. i want to be able to sleep normally....

I guess I'm lucky - I suffer periodically from "pimples" under the arms that turn to abscesses. I've had one drained surgically, two nearly at that stage and a few luckily gone away. I also had one on my leg that was surgically drained.
I was prescribed Doxyclcine and have been on it for a month.
I noticed sensitivity to temperatures - particularly sun. I would step outside and almost straight away feel my arms burning (I've never worn sun block on my arms, legs before). The burning leaves quite different reddedened areas - like blood spots.
My condition is very periodical and comparatively minor so I've chucked the doxy out today. Fingers crossed it doesn't recur again soon.
p.s. my skin condition only started after having children.
I only added this just in case someone else suffered in the same way - there don't seem to be any reports of it - only moer serious side affects.

I developed whole-body hives from an injection of 1 cc of Kenalog for tennis elbow. Subsequent allergy testing was "incredible" according to my allergist. We both think that I developed a strong allergy to Kenalog from more than 20 years of using it periodically for scalp eczema.
Apparently, allergy to Kenalog is quite rare (according to my allergist). He's thinking about writing about it. So, altho' I had a severe allergic reaction to it, it appears to be quite rare.

Does anyone know if prozac can cause itching just to one certain part of your body? Since I have been on it I have itching on my shoulders every night and periodically throughout the day. I also have gained about 10 pounds. I am very new to taking prozac and any input back on this drug would be of tremendous help to me. than you

Hi, I took the drug and other than a good AND RESTFUL SLEEP WITHOUT WAKING UP SEVERAL TIMES IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT, I HAD NO QUALLMS WITH IT.
oN THE OTHER HAND, I WAS A LITTLE DROWSY AND WAS SINGING TO MYSELF WHILE SHOWERING. mY WIFE SAID IT SCARED HER.
sHE TRIED THE DRUG HERSELF AND SHE SAID THAT SHE WOULD NEVER TAKE IT AGAIN..i WARNED HER THAT SHE SHOULD SEE HER DOCTOR, SINCE SHE IS TAKING PREMARIN AND MEDS FOR HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE. SHE WENT AHEAD AND TOOK IT ANYWAY.
SHE WAS IN A STOOPER LIKE STATE FOR TWO DAYS.
i WILL ONLY TAKE IT PERIODICALLY, MAYBE IN CASES WHEN I'M IN HIGH STRESS SITUATION THE NEXTR DAY ETC.
GOOD LUCK

Been on Singulair since 98. I am 53. I too get heart palpitations and difficulty breathing for a short period a few minutes after taking it but only once in a while. It helps my asthma but if I go off of it for a while my breathing is quite impaired for 4 or 5 days then improves but not to the level achieved with the Singulair. I dream more and have some nasty nightmares especially if I take ibuprofin at bed time. The reason I go off of the drug periodically and take Ibuprofin is that I am much more succeptible to muscle cramping, spasms, hip pain and tendonitis while on this drug. I used to be a runner/racer but had to quit race training because my back and neck would cramp up. I get tendonitis easily in my forarms from activities that never bothered me before. I have had back spasms for 2 months that did not improve with ice, heat, Ibuprofin, chiropractic or physical therapy until I remembered the Singulair connection two days ago and stopped taking it. Today I am noticing improvement for the first time. Once my back heals up I think I will try reducing the dosage to 5 mg and see if it is enough to help my breathing without the muscle problems.

I had a hysterectomy on Oct. 7, and began using the Vivelle patch on Oct. 16, (one week ago). I put on a new patch on Oct. 20. I begin having shortness of breath periodically a few days ago, but have had it all day today (Oct.23). I read in the enclosed brochure with the patches that you may experience shortness of breath. Is the patch more than likely causing this problem?

Ever since I started taking that pill I have been experiencing really painful cramps in the lower abdomen. It has been going on for 2-3 weeks every day, periodically!

I have had the Mirena IUD for about 9 1/2 months and its been hell. After reading this I know I'm not crazy. About a month ago I woke up and I was so dizzy I could barely stand up. I couldn't figure out why until reading some of the post. I have been so frusterated all the time. I periodically have cramps, sharp pains in my abdomin. I also hve had a huge problem with mood swings and loss of energy. The other things that have been really weird I've had more facial hair and the deodarant I used for years stopped working. I also had bleeding to spotting for the first 7 months. Thankyou all for your postings you've really helped me to listen to what my body has been trying to tell me I'm going to have it removed on Sept 15th. Oh 25lbs gained since having it. Sorry for the bad spelling and grammer.
