Peroid symptoms and conditions

OMG i don't like this pill. Im 28 was given this pill cuz i spotted a lot on Ortho-Tri-Cyclen Lo for years. well this pill loestrin24 fe scares the daylights outta me. I just started to take it last month and i haven't gotten my period when i was supposed to! i freaked out took a HPT came out negative. Im still scared and think i am hearing some people have this im a lil ok. I didn't start my new pack cuz im waiting my period to come. I don't know how people can be ok on this pill when u don't get your monthly period. plus i started to break out with ance on my back ugh.i also get stomach pains, frequent urination, spotting, and mood swings. Basically i rather spot on my old pill then deal with this crazy pill

I am 33 years old, took my first pack of leostrin24 fe the same time everyday . I had all the signs of a period but never had a flow now i am on the second week of a new pack of leostrin24 fe and i am having a terrible headache, i do not know what to do.

I started taking Loestrin24fe on Sunday June 7th. That was the first day of my peroid. It is now 13 days later and I am still on my period. I am 44 yrs old and was put on this pill because my periods were so heavy. This is defeating the purpose. I want to quit taking them. I am anemic and think this is doing more harm than good. I am going to Hawaii on July 23rd and do not want to be on my period then. If I stop now, I am wondering when I will start my period again. I am really fed up.

I am 23, I have been on the NuvaRing for over a year now. Before the NuvaRing I had tried practically every other kind of birth control out there: Different kinds of pills, the patch, Depo shot, even an IUC (Mirena). All of these didn't work, they each came with their own horrible side effects. Like I said before, I have been on the NuvaRing for over a year now and things have been going great. No problems. Until a few days ago... I am supposed to take out the ring and have my period next week. But for the last 4 days I have been brown bleeding, with pieces of uterine lining! I have also been having cramps, and feel SUPER tired, like i was having my period. But i still have the ring in! I was so happy with the ring! I don't want to have problems and have to, once again, try to find a BC that will work w/o horrible side effects! I don't want to go to my GYN because i know what she will say "Just wait a couple months and see what happens". I know i shouldn't be freaking out about this but BC has been such a huge problem for me and i thought i had finally found one that worked! Has anyone else had brown bleeding BEFORE their period??

I am a male 45 years and used simivastin another statin for three and a half years. Over this time i had severe muscle pain at time then about 4 months ago the muscle pain in my legs came on with a vengeance. It started in both thighs then calfs got very tight sore ankles feet and eventually got in to my arms. A deep achey sort of a pain and an irritability that casesa feeling like a toxin in my inside elbows that makes me want to stretch all the time. I feel very weak compared to my former self. I tried many things to alleviate the pain but nothing really took the pain away or even decreased it much. sometimes i would lay and groan in agony. I especially noticed that draghts and weather changes made me feel worse????. I stopped taking the simivastin 6 weeks ago. I have not had a lot of improvement but must admit thet i have been trying to push my self over this and probably done more damage. My ck levels are normal but my liver enzyme is increased a little. I started also to take q10 and L- carnitine along with magnesium. I might be improving a little each day but nothing definite. I saw a rheumatologist who has no diagnosis and isn't to committal on whether the statin is to blame. He put me on celebrex which has finally given me some relief. Can anyone relate to the worsening of symptoms with cooler changes in weather? and is there anything else i could do to hasten recovery? I started taking this pill in September...for the first month I was a nut case. I had terrible mood swings, crying and getting mad for no reason at all and severe depression. Everyone around me hated me...I hated myself.I knew this was not me. My symptoms were so bad my boyfriend didn't want to be around me and eventually broke up with me because he couldn't handle what the pills were doing to me. 3 months later (now) I a feeling wonderful and back to who I know I am...feeling normal again. If anyone feels like these pills are making them crazy...stick it out if you can. Periods are short...sometimes even 2 days for me. My face is clearer than ever and hardly have any cramps before of during my period. But remember...everyones body is different and responds to new hormones differently. Things will get better if you are weary about it.

I HAD MIRENA INSERTED JAN 11TH OF 2008. I HAVE GAINED WEIGHT I HAVE CRAMPS SO BAD AT TIMES I CANT MOVE I HAVE JOINT PAIN BACK PAIN AND HEADACHES I HAVE SWEATING PROBLEMS WHEN MY PERIOD IS ON I HAVE LOTS OF BLOOD CLOTS AND MY MOOD SWINGS ARE OUTRAGEOUS. ITS ODD THAT WHEN U TELL YOUR DOCTOR THEY PRETEND AS IF MIRENA IS NOT THE PROBLEM AND MAYBE TRY TO GIVE U SOMETHING FOR THE SIDE EFFECTS THEY KNOW ITS CAUSING OR THEY PASS IT OFF AS SOMETHING ELSE BEING WRONG. IF IT WASN'T FOR THIS WEBSITE I WOULD HAVE JUST PASSED THESE SE OFF AS NORMAL IM TALKING TO MY DOCTOR ABOUT REMOVING THIS THING I HOPE THAT I BE OKAY AND NO HORRIBLE LIFETIME PROBLEMS OCCUR BECAUSE OF IT

I am 56 years old and have gone thru Menopause and have not had a period for 5 years. I just had 2 epidural injections of kenalog for my L4, L5, S1., I just had a period!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The doctors say it's not from the steroid shot. I take a sleep aid pill to help me sleep. Good news is my pain is gone.

I was on Lumigan for over a year. After a period of time I was starting to get a lot of discomfort with it. Buring, itching of the eye and a bright red eyelid more so on my right eye. I mentioned it to my doctor and he said it was 'OK' so I continued with the drops. Then, I proceeded to get a rash that circled my eyes then ran down my cheeks to my chin then under my chin and around the front of my neck. It burned like fire and then it would also itch at times. I called my doctor and he told me to stop the drops and I did. After a few days the rash started to let up but it took a while to all disappear. Now the rash is gone, BUT till this day I have itching that is still under my chin and on my neck and the rash comes out at times. Its not always there but it erupts anytime, then goes a way but then comes back again. I have no idea what to do. Could this be permanent now? Its been months and I'm still having the same issue. No one seems to know anything.

It's intolerable. The effect that I am having is so unreal, I am calling my doctor today. I am no longer happy, joyful, and chipper. I want to slap anyone and everyone that is happy. I have never been this depressed in my life, then when I started the NuvaRing. Here's the messed up thing, I have been on it for almost a year now and the bad side effects caught up with me about 6 months ago. I thought I was just depressed, but it is the ring. I have never gained so much weight in my life, I have never eaten so much either, and I am synthroid too!! (which speeds my metabolism up) This ring is ruining my sex life, it is the ultimate birth control because I DON'T WANT TO HAVE SEX ANYMORE. I have no desire or will to even be touched. I can't stand it anymore. I rather go through the pain of having a period then this consist crap. I even went to a shrink because I thought I was depressed. It is terrible. I would never wish this on any girl. I think that taking this drug was the worst thing that every happened to me. I hate it. I also despise the drug companies for down playing the side effects, how many pages do we have on this blog now??? Something needs to be done. I will see to it.

Hi again, I posted on the 12th and the 15th I was on Yas for a week, noticed a bad change of moods etc.
well here's the time line....
I got my period on Saturday Aug. 4th and started the pill on the 5th. I stopped taking it the 13th or 14th So I was on it for 8-9 days. Well I am spotting heavily and have major cramps which all started the 17th. And while reading the new posts and seeing how people are complaining about migraines I REALIZE ME TOO! I got a migrane on Thursday night the 16th at work. At first I thought it was due to lack of sleep, work or having had taken a late lunch.... fine I go home go to bed. Wake up early still had the migrane but went back to sleep since I didn't have to be at work until late. Headache was gone when I woke up again. But I've been feeling a little discomfort in my head very slight. I's like a ball was rolling around in there and any sudden movement would hurt a little as if the ball bounced against the walls. Anyway today the migraine came back full force same place. Right side of my head like a pin has been inserted from the back to the middle of my right eyebrow. Has anyone been feeling like this? And I am spotting and have very very bad cramps. I dont know whats going on if it's me having a bad week or if it has anything to do with this damn pill. Anyway thats it, sorry if I'm rambling a bit I am having a very hard time trying to express myself with my head pounding.

i have been on NR for about 3 years, I did gain 20 pounds in the begining recently lost the wieght after a breakup and not eating. I tend to get depressed any how, so i didn't think the ring has caused it. I have noticed I do get PMS a two weeks before i take the ring out for my peroid, but i think that is because, my natural cycle kicks in and I may swtch the timing to see if it helps. i would be very interested in hearing more from long time users. I was reading these because I have Absolutly No Sex Drive, and I was wondering if the Nuva Ring has caused this. I know I should want sex, but I never have any desire, and the thought of sex stresses me out!, Although when i do finally have sex I do find it enjoyable, but not like it should be, and I definetly have a harder time getting lubricated. I have a new guy in my life and just wish that I had one ounce of desire to have sex!
Now that i have read these comments, i have noticed i do get some other side effects, like chest pain and thigh cramps, and headaches, but nothing i couldn't handle. Doesn't every birth control method have some screwed up side effects?
I am seriodly considering getting of the Nuva Ring just because i really would like a sex drive, but I don't know what else to use, except tuble ligation

Does anyone know if the side effects increase after a peroid of time? I have been on Topamax for migraine prevention for about 4 years now. I had gotten over all the tingling sensations, confusion/memory issues however, they seem to be coming back. My dose has not changed--does anyone know if this could be normal?

I am 16 years old, i have ran long distance sine I was 11. I started my peroid when I was 12. In the beginnng of 2006 i didn't have my period for 3 or 4 months. then in april i got it again. but a week later i got it back for three days. the last day was May 2nd of 2006. and i haven't had it since and it's the end of december of this year. i went to the dr. and she took test, told me i was aniemic and and nothng else was the mater really. i took these pills but they didnot help me get my period back....at all! then i went to a dietition and she told me to eat this and that...i gained weight and i even practically stoppe running except maybe 3 times every 2 weeks. adn i still haven't gotten mt period. so my dietition thinks it has nothing to do with my eating and running....but we still do't know for sure. now i am go to a gynacologists.
some other symptoms i have been getting since about march or april:
i was told i have a slow heart rate because i run.
i get dizzy or more like lightheaded
sometimes breathing is a little difficult but i don't really think of that as a symptom...it just feels a little different then i have before all this.
sinc a bout a year or so i have been feeeling a sharp pain in by middle back by my lung sometimes when i lay down or even sleeping. it has woken me up before, too.
i hope all of this helps you so you can help me....please...i want some other people's experience and advice too!!!!

A couple days after the second kenalog and novacain shot, to treat an elbow injury, In developed a rash it took weeks to have it go away the doctor didn't talk to me about the side affects of that particular drug at all just said it was a run of the mill cortizone shot. We are also trying to concieve, and had to wait due to this injury and all the meds to treat it. Now after the rash starts to disappear My period won't stop I had my peroid for 33 days straight went to the doctor and they had no idea what was causing it. They said that if it didn't stop in a couple months that they would do another pap. ( i just had one done in sept everything normal). Then I found this site!
How irresponsible that they don't tell women about this ! I will be contacting my doctor right away! Thank you all for posting!

I found this thread last May 05 after I had been on Yasmin for over 2 years (after being on ortho tri cyclin for 3+ yrs). I was having terrible stomach aches, gas, cramping and always felt sick. I almost passed out in the shower twice and had NO sex drive. I was also tired ALL the time. After reading this thread I immediately stopped taking the pill. I would say within 2 months I physically felt SOOO much better. I went through some emotional times especailly right before I got my first period off the pill. I have not had a regular cycle since I have been off the pill. My cycles were lasting 35-40 days and then in Nov. I started spotting and never got my period. It lasted for over a month!!! The doctor said it was anovulatory bleeding and I am convinced it was realted to the pill (although they did not say this). He wanted me to go back on the pill to regulate my cycle (hello? the same poison that caused this in the first place! I don't think so!) I finally got my regualr peroid and things finally seem to be settling down. My sex drive is still low, although I know there can be lasting effects related to using the pill. PLease, to all women who are using this pill-STOP!! I can not tell you how much better I feel. After thinking about what the pill does to your body it's no wonder we have all these side effects. Thank you to all the women who started this thread and convinced me to stop when I did. I owe you more then you know!!

second post for me on this site, stopped taking yamin 6wks ago and was wondering if other suffered with the heart palpitatoins for a long time after stopping taking the pill. I seem to be ok but got a peroid 5 days after stopping yasmin and then got my period exactly 21 days after this and by this time frame i would be ovulating now and for 2days the palpitaions have been huge, How long does it take to get out of my system????Does anyone else suffer from this racing heart, took my pulse and its sitting at 88 most times should i be worried??? Or is that i just take mypulse when it seems racing,

stopped taking it about six weeks ago memory has inproved dramtically cramps have gone aching joint seem to be improving and sex drive slowly improving hand put all these side effects down to other causes as we do but now kmow better
