I had the Mirena put in last December (2007). After having my 2nd child in October I figured it'd be a while, if ever, before I wanted to get pregnant again. Of course all I had seen and heard until this point was the positive side of the IUD. I had the Mirena in for about 7 weeks and in this time had LOADS of strange side effects. I had flu-like symptoms EVERY single day, my hair started falling out, lower back, neck, and abdominal pain. I also started having tingling pain and numbness in both my hands- especially when I was in bed at night. After visiting my PCP I was told I had carpel tunnel syndrome; strange cause I'd already been a stay at home mom for almost 2 years so I wasn't doing anything different. I was worn out, moody, and beat down with ZERO libido to boot. Having 2 kids under 2 I figured it was from chasing them around all day- until I read the posts on this site and thought maybe it wasn't just me. When I talked to the nurse at my gyno's office (we'd become friends after seeing so much of each other with my 2 kids close in age) she told me that half of the patients that get the Mirena get it taken out soon after and the reason they push it as a "good" form of birth control is because they get a decent kick back from the pharmaceutical company.
I've now been off the Mirena for 3+ weeks and feel like myself again. Even with 2 little ones my energy is back and I don't feel sick anymore! How the FDA can even allow this product on the market is beyond me. I'm sure sooner than later a lawsuit will be filed against Bayer!

I was prescribed Levaquin 750 for 5 days and only realized it when I went back to the pharmacy as I could not read the doctors writing on the script. I recalled my sister having a very bad experience with this drug hallucinating, as well as being disoriented. I took one before I confirmed with her this was the drug she had problems with and my heart rate has shot up to 110 per minute normally 78. I am on blood pressure medication which I took after the Levaquin about four hours so I hope it counteracts it. The doctor was told of the medication and conditions I have and went ahead and gave it to me anyway.Needless to say tomorrow I am calling the DR and asking for someting else. The public truely are the pharmacutical company guinea pigs.

i Started Yasmin about 5 months ago. I recently noticed a very thin spot in my hair. I then also noticed my hearing had not been very good and I even went as far as to make an appt to have my hearing tested. I thank god I came across this website. I have felt like a madwoman my emotions are up and down and i feel like I am raging all the time and little stupid things have set me off. To make matters worse I have had no sex drive at all and feel bloated. I am reeling right now realizing that i have been having a hard time sleeping at night and wake up drenched in sweat. I have a week left to go before my period and I am not starting a new pack. I will look at new options. I will keep you all posted. I am thing class action law suit. we women dont deserve to be caught between a pharmacutical company and the doctors we trust. you must question everything!

I was diagnosed in 1996 with depression by the VA. My depression became worse, and in 2001 Sept. I was also diagnosed with not only depression but also Bipolar disorder. I was prescribed Olanzapine for three months. When I noticed during that time I was feeling dizzy all the time, my vision was blurry, I was extremly thirsty, and urinating all the time. I stopped taking the med. after three months time because I felt it was the Olanzapine that was making me sick. By then it was to late. I went back to my doctor with the same side effects described earlier and she told me to get some blood work done right away, I got the blood work done and come to find out my blood sugars were up to 590 range. I was told I had diabetes. Even though this particular medicine has diff. effects with each individual person I strongly advise anyone who is thinking about taking it not too. I was on oral meds to control the diabetes, but now I am taking insulin shots twice a day!! I am presently pending a lawsuit with VA and the Pharmacutical company. Please be careful taking this lethal drug!!!!!!!!

I've taken loratab for several different things, after Birth of my son, after gallbladder surgery, sinus infections and so on.. This may sound odd, and I will probably get alot of backlash on this issue.. But it makes me happy.. I would seriously like to see a doctor.. or even a pharmaceutical company hold a drug trial on how laratab can be used as an anti-depressant, I've suffered from depression almost all my life.. and have been on a plethera of anti-depressants, they always seem to work for the first month or so, and then "wear" off so to speak.. I have to either up my dose.. or change all together.. I don't have to do that with loratab
When I take it, I don't have any crazy side effects.. in fact just the oppisite.. I feel i have much more clearity, I'm happy and just have an all around "good" feeling. When at work.. I feel I give my co-workers and customers the best of my abilities.. and not to mention my home life.. I'm a better mother.. daughter.. sister.. and friend.. and what's really funny I don't have that "urge" perople say they get if addicted to a drug.. I can go for months without it and i'm fine.. but much better when i do have it..
