My GP put me on Regan for reflux, after 3 months with no relief he told me to up the dose to 4x a day. I suffered severe depression, chills, body aches, fatigue and panic attacks. Finally, after taking the 4x a day dose for 30 days, I suffered a severe reaction with stroke-like symptoms. My Doctor never mentioned these side-effects and I already suffered from manic-depressive disorder. I thought I was going to die from a stroke or heart attack the last day I took it. After getting my refill, I read the adverse side effects from the accompanying leaflet and planned on discussing it with the Doctor. Three days later I suffered the really bad reaction and It was only because I read the leaflet provided by the RX store a few days earlier that I was aware it was the Reglan. I flushed every bit of it and listed it as an allergic med on my med card. I should have never been a candidate for Reglan because of my manic-depressive disorder and heart disease. Be an advocate . . . research new meds yourself and don't rely on physicians or pharmacists to warn you of side-effects or reactions to other medications your taking.

I was on Deltasone for a week prior to Brain Surgery and two weeks thereafter. I weighed 118lbs when I started to take the medication. Within 8 weeks my weight had increased by 62lbs. The increased weight first appeared around my waist then spread. My urine became bright green with large amounts of suspended protein visible to the naked eye. I developed what I was told was IBS which is how the health care system accounted for the blood in my stools. My urinary P.H. level went from a average 7.0 to a 5.0 and below beacuse I no longer absorb potassium. Unusual mood swings, severe anxiety attacks, insomina, muscle spasms, because of the severe heartburn my Zantac dosage was increased leading to more side effects from the Zantac and at one point (for 5 months) my bladder just barely function and I could only pass urine in small quanities even though my bladder was full and painful. After an ultrasound the first urine I passed was 75% gravel to the 25% urine. An average blood pressure reading for me is now 95 over 59 with an elevated pulse. Still the Nova Scotian Health Physicans either did not know or did not believe me that it could possibly be drug side effects. After all I was only on the Deltasone for 3 weeks. I am now seeing a Homeopathic Doctor, an Osteopathic Practioner and a nutritionist. Deltasone/Prednisone should be recognized as a dangerous narcotic.

on nov. 10 2006 I had recieved anintra-articular kenalog with marcaine injection in both knees. I had a minimal allergic reaction to cortisone a few years ago which benadryl fixed the problem. I reminded my ortho doctor of my allergy he said kenalog is in the same family but should be ok. Stupid me took the shots beliving him and physicans assist. that it would be ok. that night i couldnt sleep and was swetting real bad. and i woke up with a headache. next night same thing until about 5am I turned deep red purple and felt very anxious. I again took benadryl. a little time passed my leg mussels were jumping vision blurred head really hurting and still red and purple skin from the chest up I called my ortho dr. he said well how do your knees feel? I was pissed. i went to the ER. my blood pressure was 184/101 heart was racing i felt like crap. They gave me intraveinous benadryl and pepcid watched me for a few hours then I went home. had bad stomach cramps that night and I still feel like crap. what is the number of the drug company ?? why didn't my doctor tell me the side effects?

i was prescribed cytomel as an adjunct to noretriptlin 25mcg twice daily/ I do not have any thyroid problems. Both above drugs were prescribed by a psychiatrist. I began to have brief loss of vision followed by extreme weakness and sweating. these symptoms occur I am currently undergoing a series of cardiological tests because my primary physician found an irregular heart beat via ekg. I have always had an irregular heart beat. All my physicians are aware of all the medications I take which includes a blood thinner. Most unfortunately, am having difficulty connecting the time frame to the "side effect" and datae of beginning the cytomel. I realize I can make the connection by calling the pharmacy tomorrow. I also have an eye disorder with no cure and have lost much of my peripheral vision so at first I thought there may that relationship. But I went to the doctor when I realized I was also experiencing the fatigue, shortness of breath and something quite akin to hyperventilation. I will have my 69th birthday this month and thought my body and mind had a close relationship, but I am beginning to think they have become arch enemies, bent on just confusing the hell out of me.The tests with the cardiologists have been on going for almost two months with no results or diagnosis given.that important phase is due August 27. It is a good thing that patience is one of my virtues although brevity is not. Any comments please and thank you
