Piece of mind symptoms and conditions

i just got off of the phon with my ob's office having spo9ken to her nurse about YAZ. i have been on it for a month and for the last week i have been having pain in my calf and behind my knee. i am worried about a DVT or something serious. i wonder if a doctor would do some tests to tell me if i have blood clots or not because i am worried. the pill has greatly reduced my horrible pms symptoms but i don't want to dye of a pulmonary embolism! they may take me off of the pill, don't other pills also have a risk of causing blood clots?

I started the Nuvaring just about 5 weeks ago. I thought everything was going well. Two days before the "4th week", I was put on antibiotics and despite the doctor's reassurance, I used additional bc while on the medication. On the 29TH day of the cycle, I spotted some, but never really had a "period." My body told me I was (normal lower back pain, light cramping etc) except this time, I experienced a piercing headache along with it. Less than 24 hours later, the spotting was done. I asked the nurse practioner what was going on and the response was "the nuvaring can make your periods lighter". I told her "it's not lighter, it's not there!" I followed the directions precisely, used back up protection while on other medication and to top it all off, I've had a headache for days. This is not a normal occurrence for me. I haven't been depressed in well over a decade and all of a sudden, I feel like the weight of the world is on my shoulders. I've noticed a very pronounced drop in my libido, too. These side effects are not worth the "convenience" of this form of bc. I will be taking a pregnancy test (to make sure and for my own piece of mind) and then finding another type of protection. I can't believe a bc would LOWER my sex drive this much. Between the mood swings and the lowered libido, the Nuvaring seems to do more harm than good for me.

i have bee on topamax for 2 years started out low amounts now i am up to 100mg at night and 50mg in the morning and i will take 50mg when needed for a headache if i get one thru the day . that is all i love it. no more in the bedroom all day missing life sick. no more head splitting open just shoot myself painful headache. i feel great and i function raising three boys two teens and one pre teen. im not saying that they don't give me a migraine but i can control them thanks to topamax. i hope it never loses its effectiveness because i will lose my piece of mind. oh before i go ,weight gain ! i am an semi-active person. i did not gain the weight at first but as i got older i did . but i work it out and keep going. i would rather 10 lbs more on my tush than a migraine busting my head open. so work out a bit ,go for a walk ,choose a good eating regimine, and lose your headaches.

My 10-year old son was prescribed Advair in Nov 07, along with Singular for his asthma. Soon after taking Advair I noticed a change in his behavior, very moody, quick to anger and was unable to concentrate on tasks. His was having trouble with his grades at school, he went from being a A student to getting C's and D's and even one F on his schoolwork. He also was having trouble walking and could not even run without tripping, he also developed a shaking in his left arm, and he was unable to use his left arm at all, just like he had lost all strength in it. He had the symptoms of someone suffering from a mild stroke. After realizing these stomymns were not going to go away on their own, we took him to a peditriction and they ran blood tests and scheduled a MRI for him.

In the meantime, when the stomymns did first start he even told me that he did not feel like himself, so I immediatly took him off the Advair and Singular. He did go back to taking the Singular again,with the doctors ok. He had been on that the year before without any side effects, so I knew it was not causing the problems he was having.

He went off the Advair at the end of Nov. so he was basically only taking Advair for about 2 weeks. He had a scheduled MRI the first of January. Right before his MRI, we noticed that he was improving; his walk was getting better, he didnt get frustrated so easily, his grades were improving and he was beginning to use his left arm again. He was able to open bottles, no longer dropping things, was running again and was just back to his old self. We went ahead and did the MRI, just for a piece of mind, and everything came back fine. It is late March now and you would never of knew what he had went through. But it did take almost 2 months before the Advair was completely out of his system and all the side effects had stopped.

I would never recommend anyone taking Advair, if I would have left my son on that who knows what kind of permanent damage it could have caused. I am glad he was old enough to tell me that he was not feeling right and I went with my mother's intuition and took him of Advair then. I know have my bright, happy and physically fit son back. Stay away from Advair..

Okay soo... I have said before that I liked it... well my mind might be changing. I had a bladder infection last month and after using antibiotics to get rid of it got a yeast infection which is not abnormal, when I use antibiotics I normally get a yeast infection. Well this month around the same time I got a slight yeast infection. I have also had breast tenderness the last week or so, I had a weird discharge on saturday but it only lasted one day and I was very emotional last week. So... here is my dilemma is this because of the ring or am I pregnant? (we did have sex while I was on antibiotics which does counter-act birth controll) I took a in home pregnancy test two weeks ago and it came up negative. But I had a friend who was on birth control and her in home tests came up negative when she was pregnant(with twins even). Can anyone help me out here, let me know what you guys think? Or have any of you had negative pregnancy tests on the ring and actually been pregnant? Or has anyone gotten pregnant on the ring? Just some questions I've been having. Thanks!

I need some help. I have been on Yasmin for almost 4 years. Previously I was on ortho and was taken off of it due to an alarming weight gain and emotional side effects. Yasmin seemed GREAT until now... I am experiencing severe anxiety, shaking, headaches, blurred vision, hair loss, low sex drive and depression. I assumed this was all due to stress from graduating and entering the working world, but I have nothing to be upset or stressed about... I have such nervous thoughts and can sometimes say things that are just so unlike me.. I just don't feel myself. I am afraid to go off Yasmin and onto another pill in fear that things could get even worse... My previous experience with ortho was short but definitely not sweet. I am scared and afraid because I am only 22... Has anyone experienced anything like this that can give me some piece of mind?

Here it is almost 1 in the morning and my fiance and I are worried sick thinking that my soon to be mother in law was either having a stroke or heart attack...this site may very well be a life saver!!for us all. After going to varoius websites trying to narrow down my mohter in laws symptoms and her refusal to go to the ER .....we went to the medicine cabinet and began to look up side effects of her prescriptions...and wouln't you know it there is the bottle of Lisinopril....I am scheduled to go the Dr. with my mother in law tomorrow and I will be sure to take all this information and the bottle with me. Although, we are not 100% relieved I have some piece of mind knowing that she may not be suffering a stroke or heart attack!!!. The past three days she has been suffering from the chills. night sweats, numbness/pins nad needles in her arms, sever headache and nausea.....and she has been sleeping more than I have ever seen her sleep in my life!! and not to mention the coughing!!!After reading all the side effects that everyone else has posted the pieces of the puzzle are starting to fit! Thank you so much to everyone for sharing your information it has been most helpful and somewhat comforting....it just goes to show that as always prescriptions are a money making racket and drs will prescribe anything to anyone to make a buck!!!!

hi guys! about four months ago my doctor switched me from ortho tri cyclen lo(which I had been on for two years) to yasmin. It was the worst experience I have ever had in my entire life. About a week into the medicine I started getting horrible headaches, terrible anxiety and suicidal thoughts. I was sooo scared from this medicine that I stopped taking it thinking that everything was going to get better! Well wasnt I wrong. I developed OCD really bad to a point where I would sit and worry that I would hurt someone I loved or that I would hurt myself. and I had disturbing thoughts in my head that made my anxiety worse. I have been off the medicine for like 4 months and I am now taking 50 mgs of zoloft for my OCD, anxiety, and depression. I am unsure that it is working yet it's only been two weeks! I hope and pray eveyday that I finally start feeling myself! It's been horrible! Has anyone had this experience from this medicine? and if so do you think that I should get a hormone test, because I am almost convinced from reading other posts that my hormones are wacky!
