Hi, I have been on nuvaring for 5 months and I have had some side effects but none of them out weigh the feeling of not knowing wether or not I could be pregnant bc of a missed pill or something. Recently I have had mild problems with pain during and After intercourse.Lub and removing the ring usually helps. My sex drive has dropped drastically and vaginal discharge sucks because you cant always pin point the problem! For me NuvaRing is too convenient for me to even think about switching bc i am a full time student and the mother of a 20 month old!

I am a 32 yr old mother of 4. Started taking Yasmin after a try with an IUD (bad chioce). I was on Yasmin for 6 months. In that time I devolped night sweats, hot flashes, my hair started falling out, total lack of sex drive (which had never been a problem), along with sleep issues (lying in bed so tired, but my mind racing and not being able to fall asleep), then being so tired all day. I finally stopped Yasmin when I devolped open sores in my mouth. Thinking that all the other symptoms were related to life stress, getting older etc. So I went to my Primary DR and was told that they though I might be in premature menapouse. At 32! After many test/blood work came back negative, I started to pin point it to the Yasmin. I have been off for 5 months now, and this is my first cycle where I havent spotted for 5 days before starting, along with my PMS much more managble. I am angry that I almost medicated myself for depression/anxitey when all I needed was to go off the pill.
So here is giving you all hope that it is getting much better for me. My hair has started to grow back in, along with a general sence of happiness again. My "menapasual" symptoms are also going away!

My 6 year old son has had all of these more or less. He has been on Singulair for about 5 months. We took him off last Friday when he started having seizures. It is only now that we are connecting the things he has complained about. He is still going through testing but everytime a test is done it is negative. He is in perfect health. The dr.s are stumped. What happens is, he smells a wierd smell. Then he sees lights. After this he has a bad headache and becomes weak so he lays down. Shortly thereafter he stiffens and starts shaking his arms and legs while clinching his hands. He also grunts and makes a buzzing sound and appears as though he only breathes out. the dr.s say it is not seizures but movement disorder and if it is Singulair it should be out of his system within 3 days... He is still having the seizure type fits and its been a week since we took him off singulair. He is still losing his temper and having horrible dreams as well. Cat scan was normal, EEG was normal, blood work is ok, they want to do an MRI but does this sound familiar to anyone?

I started taking Lipitor Sept, 2006. Soon after I thought I had the flu and was really sick for about 3 weeks. I assumed the muscle pain was due to the flu. I've felt really tired, aches all over, muscle pain, horrible lower back pain (I also have 2 bulging discs but the pain is worse than it's ever been) and I can't sleep a whole night through. I wake up in the middle of the night due to pain in my hands (the joints in my fingers almost feel like there's fluid around them and it's hard to move them), or back and leg pains. For the last month the pain in the arches of my feet and heels have been getting worse, to the point that I can't walk without pain. I have to have good suppory tennis shoes on at all times to be able to walk. The aches and pains started slowly and kept adding up so I just didn't pin point any one thing as the source of my problems. When my husband watched me hobble into the kitchen tonight he told me that everything started after my physical in Sept. The only medication that was added to my daily meds was Lipitor. (the only other med I take is 1/2 of a .25 HCTZ for slight elevated bp) I am schedule an appt with my doctor ASAP but I think I will stop taking Lipitor as of tomorrow. If the pain is reduced then I will be able to report that I believe Lipitor to be the culprit.

My son is 3 and has had a cough all of his life. Everytime we would take him to the doctor they said his chest sounded clear and they couldn't pin point the problem. I took him to an allergy/asthma doctor where he was allergy tested. Tests showed very minimal allergies. We have no pets, no smoke, and no carpet in our home. The doctor said he didn't have asthma but prescribed him Singulair. After about 6 weeks he was very agitated, to the point I could hardly deal with him. Very aggressive with everyone in the family, could not sleep at night, and had severe hallucinations of bears in his room and he would see sharks in the bathtub to the point where he was crying and begging to get out of the bathtub. When I read the small print on the side effects I knew that it was the medication.

I have been taking singulair on and off for the past 4 years. It was not until a year ago that i started to notice that when on the singulair for 5 months straight my hair would begin to thin and fall out basically. This particular time around I am gaining weight rediculously. In a span of 7 months I have gained 13 lbs. It is getting so that the side effects are costing me more happiness than the asthma alone. Just like the majority of you, when i first began the singulair it was a God send, well minus the nightmares. However, now I think I am going to wein myself off of them and come up with something better. Truthfully I am thinking about seeing a lawyer. The hair loss alone is driving me insane. Please let me know if anyone else is noticing the hair loss or weight gain. Also to the individuals the mood swings, I am pretty sure if my husband read your emails and could pin point where these outrageous mood swings are coming from he would probably throw my pill bottle out right now. Please let me know if there is anyone else out there experiencing these same side effects. PLEASE....

I was given a 500mg tablet before having a prostate biopsy and then I took a second tablet the next day. It was to prevent infection from the biopsy procedure. Within two days after taking the pills I developed severe hives. I had no idea what caused it. I called the pharmacist and was told that it could be a temporary reaction to this drug. I was instructed to take some benadryl. I did and the hives went away within a few hours. Since then I've had a reoccurance of hives three more times (within a week of taking it). It usually happens in the evenings. I'm not sure if there's another factor that's causing it to reoccur or not. I have not taken any further doses of the drug. I can't seem to pin-point any other variable that can be affecting me. Is it still the effects of the Levaquin a week later? I guess I will talk to the pharmacist again tomorrow and see what else they have to say. Hopefully the symptoms won't get any worse and that this will stop soon. I was not given any precautions before taking the drug. I've never had any side affects to other drugs before this one.

I am a mother of a 2.5yr old who has been on singulair for 6mths due to bouts of pneumonia and constant breathing problems. I have been trying to pin point what is causing him to suffer these bouts and if it could have anything to do with behaviour changes and I am stunned to read some of these side effects. My lovable boy has turned into a right monster, he doesn't sleep well at night, he screams for no reason, inflicts pain on his siblings, spits and hits me, he seems on edge and he even looks like death warmed up!!, He is very pale and his face is drawn. i am at my wits end with his constant whinging and crying. I have not told my paediatrician this information as I honestly thought that he was going through the terrible two stage in a big way!!, But now I think that maybe Singulair could be the cause of his personality change. I shall follow up with paediatrician ASAP. If anyone can shine a light on my problems please contact me.

My 16 yr old son has experienced: hallucinations, tinnitus, calves cramping, pin-point headaches, knees, feet, wrist pain. Nightmares with fasciculations (sensation of skin crawling), vision disturbances (black spots). He has had concentration problems, making it difficult to complete sentences and read. It has been almost 3 weeks since he took ONE PILL 500 mg Levaquin. (The next entry is also mine.)

I am replying to my first post here yesterday....So today I didn't give my 3 yr old son the singulair and do not plan on it ever again! I have to say though...I am very very concerned. I think tonight I truly saw one of the bad behavioral side effects :( He got upset over something so small. Said he didn't love any of us, he didn't want Chinese which is his favorite! He didn't want to do any of the things that we gave him options on that he normally would jump right up to do! This devastated me! I right away thought to myself is this going to get worse before it gets better? He is still complaining of back pain which I know that will take some time. He punched a little boy just before dinner in the neck. He walked out of the neighbors house to go home and usually I have to carry him out. This is seriously scaring me! I'm not sure what to do ? My fiance, his father, doesn't understand and started to yell at him for his behavior. (We don't get much time to talk and when I try to his dad just says he is ok but I know, deep down he isn't) I am the one with him everyday at home taking care of him. I am now being more patient with this behavior when normally I would lose patience and punish him with time outs. Do I continue to do time outs?
-- By italia2 | Reply | (5) replies | Private Message meWhy should I punish him when its not all him ? This is so unfair :( I mean, he is a boy and yes he acts like one. Doesn't share at times, hits sometimes, he is a or was a normal 3 year old boy. His dad will follow my footsteps on this as he see's how I handle things but I'm a little witty on how to handle it now. At this point I am babying my baby! I will tell him when things he does is not right but I'm at the point now that I don't want to send him to preschool! Do I inform the teachers? Can someone give me some words? Its just hard because he is my oldest and is only 3 so not only am I learning to deal with regular behaviors, I now have to understand how to cope and deal with this until its over. Thank you in advance very much for any help and advice!!!!
