Hello everyone,
I have been feeling certain things lately so I thought "let's see what Google thinks it is". I typed in "bloated, tired, swollen legs, increased breast size" and the first site that pops up is this website. I actually thought I might be pregnant because and was surprised to see "Yasmin Side Effects" instead of "signs of pregnancy". I have taken Yasmin for almost 7 straight years. I was off it for 1 summer and probably one other month total in that whole time. I haven't really noticed any huge changes until recently and, like I said, it hadn't even crossed my mind that the things I was feeling could be from Yasmin. First of all, my breast won't stop growing and are so, so sore. I actually just bought my first D bra tonight, after being a C since probably my Junior year of high school. My legs and specifically my calves tend to feel extremely tight and stretched lately. I thought this was from running & exercise in general, yet I've exercised intensely & frequently for 4 years and this is a recent feeling for me. I have noticed for about a year that spider veins have started appearing on my legs. I thought I was just inheriting this from my mother, who has a lot of spider/varicose veins. My sex drive has definitely decreased significantly over the years I've been on Yasmin, but again, I thought this was normal or "just me". I go through periods where I have quite an appetite and can eat bad foods yet not gain weight. Then I go through periods when I seem to have the same eating patterns as normal and I'm exercising normally as well, yet I always feel bloated and fat. Plus, I have no appetite during these times. I also go through cycles where I have horrible stomach issues (I get a "bubbly" feeling, have had really bad cramps on occasion). I thought this was a side effect of coffee but now I'm wondering...
I get my period next week and then I think I'll stop taking Yasmin to see if any of these problems subside. Does anyone know any type of birth control that doesn't cause side effects?
Good luck to everyone!

I've been on synthroid now for about a year. My dosage is VERY little (0.075). My doctor keeps running blood tests every 3 months and assures me I am within the "lower-end" of the norm, but I still feel tired, sleep deprived, wake up with night-sweats and I keep gaining weight...
I am only 24 and have just been told that I need to take this medication for the rest of my life, it\s pretty depressing. I keep asking if there are other ways to lose weight and feel more energized. He tells me that I need to keep taking this medication and has put me on a "sleep hygeine" routine where I go to bed and wake up at the same time every day.
Does this "disease" mean I will always be overweight and tired for the rest of my life? I would like to know if someone else with more experience with this medication can give any sort of advice? Feeling a little hopeless about it and not really interested in complaining to my doctor anymore.
Thanks:)

there are some positives with Zyprexa. I took it briefly to treat Schizoaffective disorder, which is half schizophrenia half bipolar disorder.
Zypexa helped me sleep. After years and years of sleep disorder, I actually slept so well and used to wake up feeling invigorated. However, often it would be difficult to get out of bed. Not great if you're trying to work and run your own business.
The downside of Zyprexa is the weight gain. I was always careful about what I ate, but I could not control eating whilst on Zyprexa. I'd literally eat a full meal in the evening and then go out for a pizza afterwards. My weight gain was 30%.

Hi Julia,
I had a lot of the symptoms you have had and more. I was on it for about 3-4 yrs. I have been off now for 4 months. But while on it in the begining it was great, however it slowly crept up on me and turned horrible. I had severse shortness of breath, chest pains, leg cramps, arm, leg and face numbness. Was super dizzy all of the time. I could no longer run which I did 5 days a week, it was an effort to drag myself out of bed to just walk. If you read a lot of the old posts you will find a lot of similar posts to yours. Oh and I also couldn't tolerate anything like pizza or junk food, however I gained about 30 lbs. in 3 months. It was really crazy how it happened especially since I couldn't really keep anything down. I was constantly having to go to the bathroom. I also had what I thought was food poisoning about 6 times, however now I know it was the darn pill.
so if you are not already I would go off of it.

I have been taking Prilosec and Omeprazole for more than 5 years. I have had trouble with itching, dizziness, and now, tinnitus. The itching which was intense on my calves was solved by washing with a wash cloth and not taking a shower or bath, as my doctor recommended.
The dizziness comes and goes. The tinnitus is new. My pharmacist said that tinnitus usually starts immediately upon introduction of the drug, but it is possible for it to occur at any time. Over the years I have identified the foods which cause distress (most food), and I am extremely careful. One bite of, let's say, pizza, will cause a great deal of gastro distress for days.
I also feel like I am completely dependent on the Omeprozole, because I get ill within 1 to 2 days if I do not take it every day.

I just started taking Levaquin yesterday, one 500 mg dose at about 5:00 pm according to Doctors Instructions, and another at bedtime, also according to Doctors Instructions. I took the first dose with food,(two slices of pizza) as was instructed. I dont know whether or not it was due to the fact i had not been eating hardly for about a week with a urinary/kidney infection, and suddenly food was re-introduced or due to the pills themselves, but i had terrible pains in what felt like the beginning of the intestines for about 4 hours until about 2:30 am when i decided to get up and drink a small glass of milk and a couple of lady finger cookies (no filling) hoping the mass would help me get to sleep. After about a half an hour at approximately 3 or so, is when i think i finally gave in to exhaustion and finally fell asleep. I woke this morning with a slight pain still there in what seems to be my intestines, on the left front side, and some pain in my left kydney area. What's up with this drug? Dare i continue taking it or should i call my doctor to get something else much less apparently dangerous.

Loestrin is the first birth control pills i've ever tried and seriously its gotten me to a point that i'm too sad to even pick up the phone and make a doc appointment to change it. I hate it. I've clear skin one week the next i look like a pizza, sex is out of the question and its uncomfortable, i'm tired all the time, i gained weight and some days i literally want my husband to disappear cuz my mood swings are so bad... i get such bad migraines that makes me throw up. i got my period last month and this month i haven't gotten it.
i'm feeling more then depressed i want to cry all the time, i don't want to do anything, and i just don't wanna deal with it anymore, Loestrin is not the pill for me
