There may be no way to get Levaquin out of one's body except time. But I wanted to at least try to speed it up. I don't know if it will work for me or others, only time will tell. There is genetics involved since each of us has a unique tolerance for Levaquin. But here is what I am doing:

1. 8 glasses of water daily with fresh-squeezed lemon juice.
2. Lots of fiber - a tblsp of wheat bran 3 times a day with more water.
3. Plain yogurt with live active cultures 5 times a day.
4. A hot bath with epsom salts once a day.
5. Magnesium, Calcium and Iron, a couple of times a day.
6. Vitamins B and C a few times a day.
7. Body Cleanse and Liver Cleanse from the drug store, as directed.

I took 7 Levaquin pills and stopped 10 days ago. Some symptoms have improved. Notably, my appetite is better, the bloated stomach is gone and food moves through normally, anxiety spells are gone, the brain fog is still there but maybe a slightly better each day.

I will be watching my body for any signs of tendon pain in the 12 - 18 months ahead. No pain so far, but Levaquin is capable of doing damage with the pain not felt until later. I will ease back into exercising very slowly over the coming months.

I will be posting updates periodically over the next couple of years. I am a 50 year-old man.

Good luck to all and God bless.

I thought that Yaz would ba a good option for me, since the the doc explained that Yaz has and equal amount of hormones in each pill, which can help with relieveing symptoms of pms ie mood swings, acne, etc... After being on it for over a week I went in for a well woman exam and everything was fine..that was October 10. Then this past Sunday Nov 4 I thought I was experiencing a yeast infection but when my at home treatment of plain yogurt and no sugar diet wasn't working like normal. I got an appointment for a exam. It turns out I had a severe bacterial infection and lumps on the vaginal wall. They weren't sure if it was hpv or related to the bacterial vaginosis! Well if I didn't have those lumps at my last exam and I haven't been with anyone besides my fiance (who I don't think cheated) how could I have contracted hpv? They have me on some major antibiotic and I'm going back on Nov 26, well please pray for me because I don't know what I would do if this was related to Yaz or my fiance. But I have experienced serious nausea, no appetite, headaches, massive pimple (way worse then the ones I ever had before beginning Yaz), serious mood swings, depression (I had to withdraw from my classes this semester since I could no longer concentrate on any homework much less attend class) I just discovered this site today, and I'm going to quit taking Yaz today! Please if anyone believes me, pray that I can experience a healing miracle. I am also going to pray for the other ladies experiencing these horrible side effects! If anyone wants to talk and needs supportive encouragement, please don't hesitate to send me an email. Sisters unite and don't be afraid to stand up and let your voice be heard that we will not accept medication that does this to us!

I am a caucasian male age 48. I was diagnosed with HBP last Friday 160/111. Dr put me on 20mg Lisinopril same day. She had me start with 1/2 dose (10mg) and I can't stand the drug. I work for a computer network installation and this drug makes me really spacy, lethergic, dizzy, and I have a slight dry cough now. I've only been on this for 6 days now and am stopping it on my own. One thing we must all know is what is right for each of us. I've never been an advocate for allopathic medicines (mainstream immuno-suppresive drugs) which PALLIATE symptoms (allieviate but not cure)
I know mainstream allopathic doctors can save lives, but this drug really make me feel terrible. I understand it's been only 6 days on the medicine, but my body and heart tell me this stuff is giving me a bad reaction. I am going to stop it on my own, and try naturopathic medicines. There is a therapy that can be found online called HOLISTROL which supposedly brings down high blood pressure. It contains HAWTHORNE herb which has been shown in trials to reduce blood pressure, and also contains Holly Leaf Extract. Along with this I will exercise 30-45 minutes every day and do not use salt at all and will eyeball all convenience foods that I buy for excessive sodium. I have also cut sugar cold turkey and only eat plain yogurt with bananas (yeah- I know bananas contain natural sugar but it's better than refined!!) and fruits for desserts now. I feel that if I lose about 15 lbs along with the diet modification and naturopathic remedies I can beat this. I bought a BP monitor from Brooks drug store that is automatic and all you do is strap the cuff to your upper arm and press start and it gives an accurate reading. Dcotors love to peddle drugs (I think they are in cahoots with the powerful pharmaceutical industry) I will also see a naturopathic doctor who can prescribe herbs and/or homeopathic medicines to help me. It's YOUR life- make the right choices and know that you have a right to good service, to ask questions and realize doctor is NOT GOD. But- it is also important to ensure your safety as well so make informed decisions.

I would like to Thank all of you for taking the time to inform others about your experience of side effects from advair. I have learned so much! And I'd like to thank Guest 4309 for making the connection between yeast infection and advair. After doing a google search for yeast infection, I found many reputable sites (Duke University, urology.org, etc.) that state that steroids and corticosteroids (that's what advair is) can and do cause yeast infections (Candida, thrush, skin infections, sinsus and ear infections/itching). I AM BLOWN AWAY THAT MY ALLERGIST TOLD ME FOR A YEAR THAT THE CONTAST ITCHY THROAT and EARS and LOSS of VOICE, among other problems, WERE NOT CAUSED BY ADVAIR! Like Guest 4309 I wish I had NEVER taken advair. I am off it now and I'm taking glucosamine and acidophilus and eating lots of plain yogurt. Let me tell you, I already feel better. ANd I have sent for the book "Conquering Candida" on www.half.com for $7.50. I'll let people know what happens to me. ANd, please let us all know what works for you!
