I've been on the Nuvaring for about a year now. At first there were no symptoms and I actually felt a lot better since it made my periods shorter and lighter with less cramps. Recently, my skin has been acting up with rashes on my forearms and between my thighs and even sometimes on my face and lower abdomen! I've always had issues with my skin because I have eczema but it's never acted up this way before and the last time i had it anywhere but where my arm bends was when I was 12!
My attitude has also taken a turn for the worse, I used to be very active and play sports all the time, but since using the Nuvaring my body has changed so much! My flat stomach is gone. :( I feel like I'm always bloated and my weight went from 120 to 135. I attributed all these changes to maybe being disinterested in playing sports or maybe because I'm in a serious relationship, but after reading all these posts I'm sure I'm getting off of the Nuvaring. I haven't had a lessend sex-drive, but I don't orgasm as much as I think is normal. I also had really curly hair before, I thought it straightening out was maybe because I was straightening it too much, so I stopped using the straightener and started using a curl boosting shampoo and conditioner, its been 2 months and I still have not even one curl.

I am a 57 year old male, who is in very good shape and active playing sports. I had a bad cold and had just finished a 3 day "burst" of prednisone per my asthma specialist. I am supposed to keep it on hand and take it if my usual meds and "rescue" inhaler are not working, and I feel that I am going into an infection (asthmatic bronchitis). The steroid treatment did not work, so I saw a doctor who prescribed Levaquin (with a coupon for $15 off) - for 10 days. The pharmacist remarked that they had seen a LOT of these coupons and that the drug reps must be doing their jobs. I read the warnings which noted that "in rare instances, ...". after I got home. Since I was leaving town immediately and did not have time to change meds, I took the Levaquin. I have suffered leg cramps for over three weeks now and don't know when or if they will disappear. The cramps appear in my hamstrings, groin, thighs, and calf muscles. They are debilitating. Sometimes I can barely walk. I am no longer able to play racquetball. I try to stretch out and warm up thoroughly before physical activity, but the cramps still appear in one muscle group or more - then I stop immediately.

The grass is greener, the sky is bluer, I'm smiling and my headaches are gone. I have been out with friends, playing sports, and doing all of the high-energy things I used to do before Mirena. I started feeling myself again about 24-48 hours after it was removed.

I am so glad I found this page. I was on Lisinopril and I just quit taking it 30 days ago. I have developed a cough and at times when playing sports I begin to feel like I cannot breathe. My doctor has prescribed a new medication but I hear lisinopril will stay in your system for approximately 90 days after you stop taking it.
I have also seen an Allergist just in case it was allergies and just by luck he had attended a conference recently regarding the side effects of Lisiopril. He diagnosed me with having the side effects but still took blood samples for further testing,

I took my 16 year old child off of singulair 6 weeks ago (3-28-2008). She started taking it 11-17-2003. She became dark, depressed, grades dropped, dropped out of dance and cheerleading, started cutting her legs with razors, stomachaches, headaches, anxiety attacks, trips to the emergency room. 6 months of fluoxetine given by her psychiatrist. Nothing helped her be happy again. Sad and Dark young woman. NOW: She smiles a lot, and is eating diner with the family. No headache or stomachache for a month now. She is sleeping better. Before she said that her mind would not stop thinking. She is taking pictures again and even asked me to order her book called "Understanding Exposure" and is talking about taking a class on digital photography at NMSU branch university to start on her college electives now. She is out more and even has a part time job at an ice cream parlor. Just lately I have stopped checking the trash for waded up tissues with blood (from cutting). Chris, I have had all her medical records sent to her primary Doctor and we are very willing to open them up. You have to have a child suffering to understand where we are coming from. The most dangerous place on earth is standing between a mother and her child. Singulair took our children from us and maybe changed them in some way forever.

My son 10, has been on Singulair since he was 4 yrs old for Asthma and allergies. His last dose was 3/26/08. He has always been my emotional child, he is 2yrs older than this younger brother. Some of his side effects included headaches, stomaches, leg cramps, emotional breakdowns, major mood swings, crying outbursts over small situations, night sweats, lack of motivation, weight gain, ADHD, wishing he were dead and the list goes on. His younger brother has always been involved in sports but he was always too afraid he would get hurt. This medication has robbed my 10 yr old son from 6 yrs of his childhood. Since he has been off Singulair he feels motivated and looks forward to joining the football team his younger brother plays for. I look forward to meeting this new young man who for so long has been hiding behind this so called allergy medicine. I am so thankful to know that my son can look forward to a bright future without these side effects. God Bless you all who are going through this as well.

Oh yes, and I forgot to mention:
-- By barbiegirl3203 | Reply | Private Message meIn the morning when I go to work, about an hour into my shift, I am drenched in sweat! So much so that I have to go to the bathroom and use toilet paper to dry my back, neck and cleavage otherwise it will soak my shirt. My legs even sweat. And this is EVERY morning at work. I just started to think it was hot flashes! It's been 5 months since I had the Mirena inserted and I had never experienced this before in my life! I sweat in places I never have while playing sports.
