Hello! I have been diagnosed with chronic daily migraines. Yes, a migraine everyday for 5 months straight. Next comes swelling of fingers, hands, arms, legs, ankles and feet with major pain for the last 5 weeks. I have gone to the neurologist, ob-gyn & family Dr. I had 4 Dr/ER visits of testing to see what the problem could be. Tested for heart failure, liver disease, kidney failure/disease, lung, lupus, ms, chest x-ray, ekg and a brain CT scan...all to be negative THANK GOD! All of my Dr's including the ER staff said....hmmmm I think its the NUVARING! After some research my symptoms matched the nuvaring side effects exactly...the part that says...if you have any of these...then call the Dr. immediately. It has been approx a week and 1/2 of the removal of the Nuvaring and the headaches are no longer everyday or a "10" in rating. I was so busy typing that I forgot to mention that I match quite a few of your symptons as well...like no sex drive, depression, nausea, dizziness etc. I'm not sure about what happened and if my symptoms will go away without the nuvaring. I can say that it is worth a try. I also want to tell you all that no, you are not crazy and please listen to your body. Nuvaring came along when I really needed to regulate my periods...so I know the feeling of being relieved, but I wish I had taken a break from a 3 year run with the "Nuvaring". Please take care!

Hi Everyone,
I have been taking Topamax 25 mg for 1 week. I can't stand it. Today I am to up my dosage to 50 mg.I am not sure if I want to do that. The side effects suck.. I think I would rather just deal with my migraines, at least I know how to do that since I have had them for over 25 years. I have tried everything and nothing has worked so the Dr. and I thought we would give this a try.
I am trying to keep my place of employment happy with trying to cut down on the migraines but nothing works.
Most days I just want to give up.
Hopefully we will be able to figure something out.

I can't stand the pickhands and feet, the stumbling like I am drunk( and I dont' drink) nothing tastes right anymore, I have the shakes and I ache.
And all it does is makes me sleepy and like I am in another world.
I went to work today and made it half an hour before I came home because I stumbled and almost fell over. And when the boss talked to me it was like I wasn't there. So I came home. I don't know but I don't like it at all.

I was prescribed this drug for a lung infection. The doctor told me I would be feeling much better fast. Not the case. I have had increased tightness in my chest, vomitting and shaking. I feel like crap and my cough has turned into an angry heave, that sounds like satan himself is trying to get out of my body. Its pretty bad. I only have four more doses, so I will carry on to the bitter end. My heart goes out to all of you who have suffered so on this drug. Please take care, Christopher

Hi everyone,

Sophie,

I didn't read all of your earlier posts. If you are still taking Yasmin, you should really stop. And definitely I recommend going to the doctor immediately. It sounds like you may be having a very serious side affect and you should not mess around with your health. Please please try to see your doctor asap.

To an earlier poster who said they experienced anal itching: I know it is a weird thing to talk about, but yes, I had experienced this too. They tested me for all kinds of STD's thinking this could be the cause, etc and I didn't have anything, which I was sure of. I strongly feel it was another weird side affect of Yasmin.

Silke,
Don't give up hope! I really hope you can find a naturopath to help you. It helped me so much. I feel a million times better just taking vitamins and flushing my system of these synthetic hormones. I really think that taking Vitalex each morning helped a lot too (also called Vitex). You can find this at any health food store or natural food store. It is not a prescription and is just an herbal complex. There are a bunch of different brands but the one I took was Vitalex (two tabs each morning) along with the other vitamins.

Stay positive and know that it will get better, your bodies just needs time to adjust and heal. Everyone, please take care f yourselves and stay healthy!
