I wish I would have researched this med before I took it. I took it in March 2007. I was in the hospital for pneumonia. The doctor sent me home with a prescription to finish out. I want to tell you that I started to bleed from my stool. I bleed so much that I had to wear pads. On the last day of the Levaquin (I thought I had to take it all), I was crawling to the restroom and bleeding from my stool. I would have to lay on the floor to get the strength to set on the pot. My husband was in Iraq, and I didn't have anybody to help me. I warn anybody not to take this medication. My bowels have never been the same. But the doctors have checked me and can't find anything wrong.

Been on Lisinopril for a month and wake up at night and can't get back to sleep. I always sleep great. On the weekends I used to be able to sleep till noon if I want. But Now. Felt like I was having some kind of panic attacks. My doctor put me on sleeping pills. Now I wake up and hour or two before I need to and feel like I drank a pot of coffee. I am going to stop taking Lisinopril for a couple of days and call my doctor...

Wow - this drug is potent. So grateful I am only on the 3rd day. I am not taking another dosage after reading these posts.
You know when something is going on wrong in your body and this drug has been troublesome since the very first dosage. Immediately upon taking the first pill, my mouth started watering and I had to run to the bathroom. I had extreme nausea and dizziness. On the second day, my mouth was dry and I felt extremely tired, nauseous and irritable. I could hardly keep my eyes open and had to drive 1.5 hours to attend a function for my daughter. I nearly fell asleep at the wheel.
Yesterday, I took the 3rd dose, and started suffering from the anxiety that all have complained of. I was awake all night, like I had drank a pot of coffee. The few times I fell asleep, I had vivid nightmares.
I have the last pill sitting next to me and after reading the posts, I am not taking it. I know side effects can be progressive and as more of the drug permeates the system, the side effects can increase!
Thanks to all of you for posting your issues. You may have saved me from extreme effects.

Nausea is the only side effect I have noticed after taking 300 mg of Wellbutrin for over three years now. The nausea is worst in the morning, after I take the pill. My stomach feels very acid, like I just drank a pot of coffee with no breakfast. It usually gets better if I eat something, although not always.
For the first few years, I also experienced decreased appetite - no complaints there! I lost weight, but this year I regained it. Not sure if the appetite suppression effect wore off, or if this year has just been really stressful for me.
I also found it impossible to smoke cigarettes - they tasted nasty. Another good side effect for me.
Overall, Wellbutrin has helped me with depression and social anxiety. Best of all, I have absolutely no sexual side effects, unlike with every other antidepressant I have tried.

I have been on Toprol XL 25 mg for a few years, then 50 mg for 2 years. The last two have been spent on 40 mg Benicar and 25 mg of Toprol XL. Originally I was put on to elevated heart rate, blood pressure, and palps at 24 years of age. I blame it on anxiety, especially the white coat kind, but have since gotten seem to get that control. Not to mention I have quit smoking, both cigs and pot, and cut down on the late nights of boozing from my twenties. In any case, I am still taking the Benicar to make sure my bp stays in control, but off the Toprol completely for a week now. I can feel my heart rate is more elevated at times, but I think that is good and actually natural. My energy has increased, especially while working out, and I am thinking clear for the first time in years. Not that I was stupid, I managed to get promoted twice and an MBA during my time on Toprol, but feel much better. Will see if I have any of the side effects from that everyone describes, but my experience both on and off the drug was pretty good. I think most people on this drug already have anxiety, so learning to control that is key to living a life off the drug. Good luck to everyone, but glad to be off at least one medicine.

I am so glad to have found this site. I thought I was slowly losing my mind. Did late-night binge eating, house cleaning, paid bills on-line - all with no memory of it the following day. As the medication would start to work, I had a nightly "conversation" with myself about how worthless I was, how I deserved to have all kind of bad things happen, etc. I wouldn't have these kind of thoughts during the day. I haven't taken it for 5 days now after 10 months of continuous use. The first night was as if I had consumed a pot of coffee, tossing and turning, with practically no sleep. But each night it's gotten better. When I weigh the side effects against the benefits, for me it's not difficult to say I'd rather have my sanity back!

I have been taking this medication for 6 days for a UTI. I feel like crap and haven't been able to work. Thank goodness I don't have hives or anything else. But my stomachs is cramping really bad and I have been acting like an evil $%#@&, I also have the worst stiff neck. Anyways I was extremely nauseated and felt like I was pregnant but I have a prescription for pot and it seems to help the majority of the side effects. Massive amounts of water will take away the anxiety. I am going to wean myself slowly starting tomorrow and I will never take this drug again.

I have had really bad anxiety and panic disorder for a year now from being a former pot smoker. My doctor prescribed me adderall xr 20mg after I asked her to. I'm in college and I have a friend I go to school with who takes it. I found out about it from her and she gave me a few. When I took it I was fine. Even the come down wasn't as bad as what I am experiencing now. I took the first pill out of the bottle yesterday. The first 5 hours were great. I was focus on what I was doing and I had no anxiety or weird side affects what so ever. Around 2am I started feeling dizzy, fatigue, parts of my body was going numb, my limbs were getting weak and they hurt, i got massive migraines, chest pains, weird shots of pain that felt like lightning going up my spine to my neck, blurred vision, and my speech was slurred. I did not want to wake my parents up because I thought maybe i was just having a panic attack. My doctor put me on metadate prior to adderall and I had some panic disorders with it, but this was far worse. Then I realized that all of these horrible feelings couldn't be from anxiety. I usually just get the rapid heart beat, short breath, numbness due to hypertension, and chest pains. This was far worse! I felt like a thousand needles were poking into my chest, at time I felt so weak I thought I was going to faint, if I got up too fast I got dizzy spells and everything became a blur to me. I was so scared that I felt like I was going to die. I had read the papers given with the drug and it said to seek medical attention immediately with the symptoms that I had. I didn't want to do anything drastic like call 911, because thats what I did with the metadate and over time i felt fine, so instead I called the poison control hotline on the pamphlet. The woman over the phone said that what I was experiencing was normal and that everything only seems more intense because its late and i'm tired but I can't get any sleep. Her voice and assurance made me feel slightly better, but afterwards things just got worse. I don't understand why this drug had these effects on me when I took the same thing before with no problem! During that time I had anxiety as well, and I still did not have any issues. I love the fact that this drug helps me to remain focus, but the after affects are so horrible. Does anyone know if I can just sprinkle half of the pill in some food or something and I won't have these problems, or if there is something equivalent to adderall without those horrid side effect?

OK guys, I have been reading all your side effects for a couple of weeks now, and finally decided to jump into this pot! You will not believe this, but I have been on Diovan 80 mg twice a day along with a couple of other blood pressure medications. It's been about 2 years, maybe a little less, and for the past 10-12 months, I have complained to my doctor that my joints and muscles ache so much that I feel like a 100 year old person. I also have has every side effect mentioned on the 9 pages listed here with all of you. I have had every test imaginable for artery's/veins/muscles/joints/sleeplessness/hair loss/weight gain/swollen ankles...you name it, I've been tested for it. They can find nothing wrong with me at all. NOTHING! I'm sure they feel that it's all in my head, since I've been quite sensitive to a lot of meds. in the past!
I am usually very active and run around like a crazy woman most of the time, but I was absolutely walking like I'd been hit by a truck. I went to my doctor with all of the complaints listed under Diovan printed out, and believe me, she took notice. We stopped Diovan that night and I started on a couple of new meds. that have absolutely no side effects. It will be two weeks this coming Wednesday (June 4) and I am almost a new person. I'd say, about 98% pain free. I actually felt relief after being off for about 5 days. It's getting better day by day. I actually feel that this stuff was killing me slowly. Get off asap!
By the way, I tried to look up the new meds, and they are so new that I can't find anything. For me, they are an answer to prayer.

Hi, I'm a 25 year old male. I've had severe seasonal allergies for as long as I can remember. I'm to the point where the coming of spring usually means that I'm going to be visiting the emergency room inside of a few weeks. I've been involved with Zyrtec since the spring of 2003. During that season I experienced what could only be described as a near complete nervous break down. I had an issue involving administration at the college that I was attending losing some paperwork regarding a semester withdrawal ... as a result I ended up with 7 F's and owing the university around $4,000.
I ended up crashing. My family describes me as the guy "with a big heart" ... but I began getting into screaming matches with my parents that ended with me breaking down and weeping / sobbing almost hysterically while holding the door shut to my bedroom. I became incredibly "anxious" (that's how my families General Practitioner {GP} described it), but I'd describe my behavior like more along the lines of a parody of a guy that just smoked a ton of REALLY cheap pot and therefore began to think that everyone was out to get them and that no one had their best interests at heart. My GP decided that I must be on the verge of a nervous breakdown and put me on paxil in an effort to calm me down. In a way it helped keep me calm and drastically reduced the extreme emotional spells that I was having. I pulled myself off of Paxil (for another slew of side effects that I'll be posting on that tab) during the late summer and fall when I don't have as severe an issue with allergies and as my season approached I found a new doctor and when I brought up how I had eventually decided Zyrtec D was making me feel he told me that I was right on the money. He ran through the almost all of the side effects that are listed on this page and I was floored ... I couldn't believe that no one had told me about them. He put me on Astelin and since then I haven't had any issues. As a matter of fact, I'm totally psychologically sound now and I haven't experience a "heart flutter" since ... where as a few years ago I was on the verge of committing myself while on Zyrtec D.
As a little note: I'm currently taking Astelin along with the OTC Zyrtec on a once a day basis and the only side effects that I've seen show back up are: slight paranoia, a loss of energy and general virility, and a significant weight gain (about 20 pounds in the past 3 months that could be attributed to my near complete loss of energy) ... which is an ENORMOUS improvement coming from the prescription strength Zyrtec D.
I'd also like to mention that I don't have any disorders like bipolar disorder or severe depression ... but when I take Zyrtec I acquire a lot of the symptoms associated with those medical conditions ... the symptoms slowly subside when the season draws to a close and I stop taking the medication.

I've been taking addrerall since before it was prescribed to me. I abused it horribly for a while there, staying up 2 or 3 nights in a row. I also drank a bit and smoked pot almost daily.
Now, I have left the drinking and smoking and I am actually prescribed adderall XR. 30 mg in the morning. My 110lbs, male 5'6", has actually increased to 130lbs, which is more toward normal, good health.
I was concerned about dependency one or twice. I was an alcoholic at one point before ever taking this drug and I did not want that to happen again. So I stopped taking it for a few weeks.. and I just felt like a did before.. i would come home from work utterly drained and fatigued. I felt like it wasn't normal but I couldn't get past it. I just wanted to lay down. Stare at a wall for a while.
Adderall has helped me live a normal life, Gain wait, helped me get off my ass, and actually focus once I'm off of my ass. And whence I'm off my ass I still feel normal.. I can make a choice to lay back down or move forward.. Where as before I had no choice.
Look, if your kids start twitching and pulling their hair, losing weight, etc. then adderall is apparently not for them. If adderall makes you feel strange, abnormal, or whatever, consult your doctor or neurologist.

I discovered this site last Wednesday morning - without taking the time to list all of the grief I felt reading through the pediatric postings, I will briefly note my 4 year old daughter has been on Singulair for 2 years now. What I now realize is all the behavior issues, night screaming, etc. are so easily dismissed as stages of a toddler. She has suffered (as well as our family) every symptom and behavior listed by parents on this site with the exception of leg cramps.
Our entire family can see the dramatic results since taking her last pill last Tuesday night. The melt downs and tantrums are all but over, she even commented "hey, I listened right away" on the second day without Singulair. She is still having night terrors - I call them that because they are in no way a dream or nightmare, but rather agonizing moments that break our hearts to hear. I hope those will soon go away as well so her sleep pattern results in a restful night.
Am I angry that we have all suffered for 2 years only to find we have been basically poisoning her? Am I angry that for the 2 years her dad and I have sunk pretty low, feeling inadequate as a parent to teach and discipline our child? Am I angry that after 20 years of marriage, raising a great 16 year old in the midst of all this, we were to the point of the ADD, bipolar, etc. theory that would have been misdiagnosed? Heck no, we are all so thankful to have come across this site and are so giddy and excited to be happy again.
What I am angry about is this - when I called our pediatrician last Wednesday and relayed what I had seen on the Merck website for side effects added in recent months she had not heard this information and asked where I saw it. At that point I had not seen this site. I asked her how is it the well dressed pharmaceutical reps come in with doughnuts, exotic trips, etc. to market a drug with "ABC" treatments and "XYZ" side effects, continue to market the drug and never update the doctors when original selling points are altered - ie; new side effects.
The FDA website is troubling for two reasons: Merck is in charge of their own investigation regarding recent complaints and the FDA expects this to take 9 months. Gee, who gets to investigate themself? Secondly, in February the site notes the FDA and Merck are trying to find the best way to communicate the concerns being investigated to prescribes and patients. HELLO - we live in a world of real time, instant communication methods, two examples being the United States Postal Service and an internet connection.
Today is April 30 - a full two months after "trying to decide how to pass this information on" and my doctor, nor my pharmacist have received any information. Apparantly since we missed the story and coverage on Dateline we are out of luck.
I plan to start from ground zero to get our voices heard to change the way, or the law if you will, to implement an immediate communication link between the FDA and prescribes when an investigation such as this has been initiated. I realize Singulair has most likely benefited more humans than it has destroyed while on the drug and the FDA would have to clearly not communicate "panic". However, when a drug is used for pediatric treatments we need information quickly to assess on behalf of our children. In my case, since my daughter had been on the drug since 2 years old, I do not know what her "normal behavior" should be as that is the age they start to develop and show personality. Additionally, when enclosed prescribing information is updated with a prescription -MARK IT IN RED, "UPDATED INFORMATION". I read every ounce of information that accompanies a new prescription for any family member. I would NOT, however read the information every 30 days for an ongoing, long term prescription over the course of 2 years.
I am looking for anyone that may have started contact with a congressional representative or otherwise to change the communication to our doctors. Please note - I am in no way interested in any legal action regarding Singulair and our nightmare. We are moving forward and do not wish to live the nightmare one moment more. I simply want to see our doctors and pharmacists have vital information as it happens.
Thank you to all for sharing your experiences - I truly believe it is changing lives and making a difference. I am personally telling everyone I know about what is happening with our child and all of yours. Andy by the way, by telling one of my long time friends our amazing discovery, she realized she had been suffering from depression for some time and chalked it up to various things going on in her life. She had her last Singulair last week and feels tremendous! So keep the word going!

I work in a health care system and we have used levaquin for this last cough, cold and flu season. It has worked wonders for the various upper respiratory infections.
No one has developed rashes, boils, or bone/muscle pain. After reading the first response, her abnormal reaction sounds more like a bad case of shingles.
Then, I read the last post where the person drank two glasses of whine to help with the blah blah blah. Mixing alcohol with any type of medication will not help with Your sypmtoms were a "full fledged panic attack" as you stated from the beginning.
Nothing but idiots posting here!

A couple of years ago I tried Singulair due to problems with oral yeast infections from my inhaler. I'm a athletic, health conscious 46 year old woman with a high-burn hypoglycemic metabolism, and often have unusual and extreme reactions to food and medications. I hallucinate on Diet Coke, for example. I waited until the weekend to try Singulair just in case I reacted, and it was a good thing I did. I slept about 10 hours in three days, and when I could sleep I had bizarre dreams. I felt like an ADHD woman having a manic episode! My boyfriend noticed behavioral changes right away, and fortunately he did all the driving that weekend! I stopped the drug on Sunday, and was barely able to sit up at work by Monday afternoon. The next weekend I broke the pills into quarters, but had the same problems even with only a fourth of the dose. Once all the drug was out of my system, which didn't take long, I was fine. I went back to my Claritin and Pulmacort Turbuhaler, and I've been fine ever since. I'm both surprised and not to find Singulair causes similar reactions in others. I thought it was just my strange metabolism, but apparently not. This is a sad, cold comfort way to find out I'm not as freakish as I thought. My condolences and best wishes to everyone dealing with children and family members on this drug and/or going through withdrawal.
P.S. I never drink soft drinks anymore, or eat or drink anything with artificial sweeteners, either.

I started taking Wellbutrin XL for anxiety. My doctor told me that this medication will calm down the anxiety and even just put me in a better mood. (i think i was also slightly depressed) but i was affraid to admit it to myself. I took the Wellbutrin for about year and it worked wonders. I was happier, no anxiety, and i just had energy without having to drink a pot of coffee. These last two months my insurance switched to Budeprion SR and it has been hell. I never put two and two together about the generic...since i work in a pharmacy i assumed it was equivalent. IT IS NOT. My fiancee almost left me! The FDA needs to pull this med.

I was prescribed Avelox for a sinus infection. After taking one pill, I woke up that night with my heart racing and from that through myself into a panic attack. I was at the Doctors office today for an EKG (came back normal). I was told to never take this drug again. Now almost 24 hours after taking just one dose, I am still experiencing heart palpitations and an anxiety feeling. I feel like I drank a whole pot of coffee and ran a marathon. Don't take this drug!!!!! I'm wondering how long it will take to get out of my system??

I was prescribed this drug as an after operation precaution. I only took the tablets from Thursday- Monday after seeing the posts on this site!
I had been getting what i thought was heartburn on the day after my operation and assumed that the burning in my throat was from the tube placed in my throat during the anaesthetic. How wrong was I! By Monday night I was unable to eat or drink even my own saliva was buring me right down to my Oesophagus. I began to think that this was not normal as my breathing was getting weaker than normal-( i am asthmatic) constantly feeling dizzy, and to feel like someone was pouring acid into me ?? All sent warning signs. So i read the leaflet in the box to see the side effects. Surprise surprise i was getting the severe reactions to the drug. If only i had looked sooner! So i called my local gp first thing Tuesday, who advised i was being silly and that it was not the doxycycline!!! Even though i told him about the side effects. He then told me to continue to take them! Well I was not convinced and contacted the gp that operated on me and he told me to stop taking them immediately due to the severity of the side effects i was having. Its been 4 days now and the most i have managed to consume is 1/4 of a pot of yogurt. I also am a single parent with a 2 year old to look after so I am really struggling with the effects from this drug! I have seen that others are still affect by this for days after they have ceased the treatment. I just hope it calms down soon so that i can eat something. I am terribly drained and in so much pain, not to mention having to put up with the pain from the operation! I would advise that the first signs of discomfort on this drug stop taking it!

update on Geodon-
Last week I wrote a raving review on Geodon, this week, not so good... I have lost a total of 11 lbs. in 9 days which should make me feel great, right? Nope! Because I went straight from feel good to full fledged mania (spent $300+ worth of nothing on eBay) to wading in mud depression and borderline psychotic. My husband wants me to "call the doctor and get back on the Seroquel!" I'm still trying to stick it out. The nausea is coming and going vs. staying that way all day but I'm still running (feels like crawling) back and forth to the bathroom. So- the ultimate question- to be fat and lazy, 'out of it' and with no life (including sex life) on Seroquel? or be skinny, sick and totally bipolar on Geodon? Yesterday at work, (I am a personal care assistant) I watched myself pour pepper in the pot of boiling water when I wanted salt, attempted to dry dishes with a wet dish rag, on the way home I was repeatedly forcing the windshield wipers to off trying to get them to turn on in a freezing rain storm... My words are jumbled, confused, can't make sense, crying and Belligerent, pistons aren't firing right... we'll see what happens...

Was given Fentanyl along with propofol as an induction to general anesthesia and had a horrible and very agitated feeling . I know it was not the propofol as I have had that by itself for another procedure recently.I know it used to cause agitation in the children it was used on in the hospital where I worked. The Fentanyl patches caused this same agitation on my deceased husband.I think it needs to be taken off the market. It caused irregular heart beats on me in the recovery room. I have been taking Neurontin for 2 months. I didn't think it was really helping because I still couldn't function normally. I have had 3 disk surgeries on L4/5, and still have severe pain in my right hip and down my right leg all the way to my foot. I am told there is scar tissue build-up in the area causing the nerve pain. I started taking Neurontin in small doses and have built up to 1200mg 3 times a day. I still couldn't walk more than 20 feet without leaning on something, but the pain was noticably less severe. My doctor put me on Trileptal instead, and the first day off the Neurontin was a nightmare...the pain was worse than ever. I went back to the Neurontin immediately. I have experienced some weight gain, but have attibuted that to no exercise. It does seem to make me forgetful, tired and somewhat depressed, but without it, the pain is completely debilitating. I want my life back, but I don't know what to do from here. Neurontin has helped the pain to a more tolerable level, but if I still can't even walk, I'm not even close to functioning normally. If anyone has a suggestion, I would love to hear it...thanks.

I used in the past Flonase and worked. This time, I used the "generic" by other laboratory. I used it only once.
Developed a headache, felt virus-like symptoms and blisters on my lips. The most uncomfortable side effect ... 12 days and counting, everything with an aroma (or smell), smells the same, like some chemical. Even coffee, food. Have not used it again but side effects continue. Have tried saline spray to clean nostrils ... nothing has worked. Just wait??

i started on citilopram 4 weeks ago, and mentally im a changed man, i had depression and panic attacks and now i couldnt be depressed if i tried to which sounds great but its a liitle strange as i sometimes feel i am missing part of my emotional spectrum, like normal people feel down sometimes and i should still be allowed to feel down every now and then but these tablets wont let you.! physicclay tho i have had a few strange side efects, in the first week i felt shaky and detached and had blurred vision and actually felt a little high (which was nice) but by week 2 i fellt fairly normal and now only get the side effects when i forget to take a tablet otherwise i remain on a plateau. I also smoke pot and often became paraniod after smoking, the best thing is now i can smoke pot to my hearts content and get the high but none of the paranoia and that is fantastic. if your a pot smoking paranoid ~I highly recomend taking 20mg citalopram has anyone else ever experienced this???

I am on two 500 mg doses of cephalexin daily to help heal a bug bite..Still waiting for the biopsy to come back. Doctor suggested could be a brown spider bite. Definitely want to stop the skin deterioration and get the wound from where the bite was removed healed but the itching started on day 3 on my stomach and has now spread to entire torso, back, insides of arms and legs. I have tried aveeno baths, benadryl (knocks me out) and eucerin itch-relief. Today I coated my entire body with 1% hydrocortisone with little relief. HELP - I am scratching to the point of bleeding and now that I have read these other comments will NOT take another one of these pills. Any other OTC relief anyone has found?
