My son quit singulair "cold turkey" after 6 years of use,
but his athsma was mild. I would agree that those with more severe athsma should be careful when stopping singulair,
have a good emergency back up plan and talk to your doctor. My son's athsma actually improved off singulair though. I think everyone is different, so definitely be careful. I really believe that those expiriencing stuttering, ticks adhd and bad dreams and behavioral problems may already be predisposed to some pschyciatric disorder, the singuliar seems to bring this out and amplify the problem. My son will be evaluated for bi-polar disiorder, but already has been diagnosed adhd and tourettes. I would recommend that anyone with these problems with singulair discontinue and consult a good psychciatrist or psychologist about these behaviors, it probably is not all the cause of this med, just made worse by it.

I'm on day 19 of this pill and it's been a crazy ride so far. Some info on why I'm on it and what it's been doing to me thus far:
I've been like clockwork with my menses from after I finished puberty till now... about 10 years total.
I'm 33 and not sexually active.
I missed my menses after a very prolonged stressful month and then proceeded to bleed for 17 days a month later.
I had an ultrasound and the results showed a 4 cm cyst on one of my ovaries, it being unique in that it's a cyst inside of a cyst.
After these results my GYN (as assigned to me by my HMO primary care doctor) suggested I go on the pill for 3 months to stop any more ovulation then do a second ultrasound to see what the current cysts state will be.
I am predisposed to migraines since I was 7 years old, so this was my only concern in taking this type of medication.
So far I've had 2 major migraines which I've toughed out at work.
The second of the two, yesterday, Day 18, was accompanied with feelings of high intolerance, anxiety, anger, panic (that this crap was happening), and this weird feeling of knowing who I am normally, but not being able to grasp any of my normal behaviors.
To my S.O.'s credit, he says this is what I'm like when I'm PMSing.
I really hope that this doesn't mess with my overall chemistry, as it's taken me a long time to get to know me and to start all over is not something I want to have to go through again.

I have been on "Yankmearound" for 4 months now. I was on it about two years ago and don't remember have the same side effects as I do now. In fact then I remember only really having anxiety which I am predisposed to, breast tenderness and loss of libido which I thought had to do with my relationship. Well this time my anxiety is pretty bad despite the fact that I am willfully unemployed and exploring a creative direction in my life- I should be much more relaxed! I have also started to notice a sleepless night aroung the start of menstruation each month since I started that has gotten noticeably worse. This month it lasted for the entire duration of my period and seems to be continuing on post starting a new pack! I have never had such problems sleeping thnakfully before taking this poison. I'd really like to know if anyone has experienced such syptoms of insomnia though because of course it is hardly discussed in the Package Insert. I am looking to go off this and looking for non- hormonal options that are not scary like the IUD which can cause pelvic inflammatory disease and infertility! Have anyother methods worked out there ie. female condom, diaphragm, cervical cap? For the typical "no can do condoms man" that I always seem to date.
So my symptoms this time were: breast tenderness, marked loss of libido, anxiety- sometimes creeping up and intense with no conscious indentifiable cause, and this wretched insomnia and ssleep disturbance ie: can't fall asleep maybe until late mornig hours, or wake up after every few hours or wake up early in the morning.

My son and I have both taken Welbutrin. I didn't really notice a lot of side effects. I know that it did not effect my sex drive which other meds did. I lost weight, lost interest in drinking alcohol, lost interest in smoking. Had more energy,

They come and go away within about 30 seconds. Has anyone ever had that problem? He tried getting off of the meds and experenced all these body pains. It drove him nuts so he went back on welbutrin. The body pains have gone away, but the head pains came back. The doctor said the head pains would go away if he took his meds regular.
