On my six day of taking this medication I awoke in the middle of the night with a fever of 101 and was shaking almost uncontrollably due to chills. The next morning, the fever subsided but I began noticing red, rash-like dots all over my arms, legs, and torso. After doing some research on this medication and learning about some of the possible SERIOUS side effects I decided to go to the emergency room. The ER doctor told me I did not have "Stevens Johnson Syndrom" (my original fear) and prescribed me some Benadryl and Prednazone. A day later the rash has not improved and seems to be a little worse. It's "warm" almost feeling like a sunburn. I'm obsessed over this and am wondering if the doctor misdiagnosed me. Has anyone who developed a fever/rash from this drug and remember how long it lasted? Even tho the ER doctor released me, should I question this?

i was on prednazone until i was 5 years od. in addition to daily antibiotics (penicillin) and other concotions for severe asthma and allergies. i am now 33, and in deteriorating mental health. anxiety, depression, mood swings, you name it. my fiancee leaving has awakened me to how bad it is getting (not violent, but certainly extreme anger, rage, frustration) and i am tired of living with it. counseling is a start but i'm wondering if anyone has any info regarding long term psychological affects of taking prednisone for an extended period, especially during childhood. thank you for any info

If you guys think you had a rough time with Lipitor read this.
I sufferered a heat attack at the age of 45 without knowing I had high Cholesterol. They put me on 80mg of Lipitor for about 8 years. About 2 years ago I was suffering so much body pain they tested me for Rhumatoid and although the tests were negitive off they sent me to the Rhumatoid Doctor who said I had classic Rhumatoid. They put me on Prednazone and Methotrexate which is about the worst drugs of all.
After 2 years my live function fails so they reduce my metho and increase the pred BUT KEEP ME ON LIPITOR ???????
I took myself off Lipitor and within 4 weeks my Liver tests go back to normal BUT THEY WANT ME TO STAY ON LIPITOR ????
I said NO WAY so I started to also reduce the Pred and the Metho. I'm now down to 1 mg of pred and 5mg of Metho and NO LIPTOR.
Results so far are as follows:
Body pains have continued to reduce
Skin has started to clear up
Sleep is better
Mental upsets have reduced to almost nothing
plus plus plus
Now I don't think I have Rhumatoid and if I'm correct then there needs to be a full enquiry into the side effects if Lipitor and the doctors who diagnosed me. If I have Rhumatoide then time will tell.
Good luck everyone

I'm only 19 and have terrible asthma. The doctor first put me on prednazone, then that didn't work, so he tried 50/250 advair. I've been on it for almost a year. I've had 20 lb weight gain along with terrible bloating and bowel problems, which the doc claims is "irritable bowel syndrome" but I really do think it is caused from advair after reading this! I've been trying to ween myself off it and notice that I can breathe better on my own than with it. I have a gyno appointment soon about my bloating but I do think it is from advair.
