I have had the mirena for over a year and all of a sudden, I start to feel the side effects? I am nauseated, tired, bloated..... I FEEL PREGNANT! Taking a home pregnancy test tomorrow morning. I thought the whole idea of getting birth control was to well......BIRTH CONTROL. This is happening at a time that is impossible for me to be pregnant! Single mom with hopes and dreams of maybe living those dreams?! That is why I got on birth control and now maybe I chose a device that dosent work? Not right! I have an appt with my OB/GYN next week to check the placement and to see if I am in fact pregnant. I am 43 years old and so didn't plan on this.........

Thank the Lord that I found this site.
I was up until 2 AM last night searching for answers.
My doctors insist that there is nothing wrong with me. I was starting to think that I was crazy.
I am 33 and had my Mirena put in in May 2008 after having my fourth child. I did a lot of research and talked to a lot of doctors before deciding that this was the right birth control for me. Not once did I run across any of the side effects that I have in all of my previous research.
Since then I have had headaches, nausea, bloating, gas, back pain, fatigue (severe now), moodiness, tingling in my arms, hands, legs and feet, weight gain, and now this strange sensation of fluttering in my belly.
I have taken a dozen pregnancy tests over the last few months. I could swear that I am pregnant. Of course they have all come out negative.
I want to get this out of me NOW. I wish that I could do it myself. The doctor that does the IUD's at my clinic only comes in a few days a month. I wonder how long I am going to have to wait until I can get it removed ? !!!
To be honest I would rather have baby number 5 instead of dealing with all of these side effects any longer. Even my husband agrees.
Thank you all so much for being honest and getting your stories out in the open.
If I hadn't of found this site, I would have kept on trudging along with this dang IUD in and being miserable.
I am all for a lawsuit against Mirena. Women need to be aware of these possible side effects.
I am going to call the clinic first thing Monday morning to setup an appointment for removal. I will try to post as things move forward.
Once again thank you all from the bottom of my heart for being so honest. I wish you all the best of the luck.

Hi ladies, figured i should write something here as i thought i was going nuts or was seriously ill.... i had the Mirena fitted approx 12 months ago and at first i had some awful stomach pains on my right hand side and they hurt like hell. I went to my GP quite a few times, and i was telling him it was this Coil, but he was adamant it was not, anyway after a fair few trips back and forth, it settled down on its own. I was then plagued with prolonged periods, that would go on for about 10 days, i would then have a week of being nearly normal before turning into a psycho bunny for another week whilst awaiting the dreaded P.
Throughout all this, I often noticed a smelly discharge- sorry but true, and i piled on the pounds, (they would not budge)
The last 3-4 months have been the worst,i felt bloated all the time, and was constantly tired, so much so, that i went to my GP as i had never experienced anything like it before, I have done numerous pregnancy tests as the symptoms at times indicated i could be well on my way to having a baby or two, but they were all negative, the GP had done tests for Anemia the lot- Negative. I had this feeling it was all somehow related to the Mirena i had fitted, so one night totally fed up with feeling like crap, i took matters into my own hands literally, and pulled the god damn thing out! I have now been Mirena free for 2 weeks and i feel great.... My mood lifted almost immediately, i don't feel bloated all the time and my energy levels are on their way back up.... I still have the increased Bra size (Brill! will keep that, thanks very much) and i am optimistic that i will now return to the person i once was!(Glen Close can now go home)
The Mirena in my opinion IS the best form of contraception known to man... or perhaps it was made by one! but i would rather take my chances else where than to ever have that thing near me again!!!!! Sorry i have rattled on so long, but if i can rescue just one of my co females, it will make me very happy.... Hope all of you don't suffer for to long x

I have had the Mirena in since I was 12 weeks postpartum. My daughter is now five months old. I have had so many side effects that I also thought were due to just having a baby and the life changes that follow (plus my kids are 12 months and 1 day apart so who knows what's out of wack once you've been pregnant for two years straight!). I've had some headaches, sleeplessness, so many pregnancy symptoms I took a pregnancy test and had the doctor do one, incredible moodiness, I hate being touched (I felt this way with both pregnancies), no libido...all of these have made in incredible strain on my marriage. If things don't improve between us a few months after I get this hell-stick IUD removed we're going to couples therapy! I was diagnosed with depression at 14, but it has been under control since then. However, since Mirena I have been incredibly depressed. I have been on birth control since 14 due to terrible periods/cramping etc and never had an issue. I am going to switch to the copper/hormone free IUD and just pray my periods have changed now that I've had two children. Wish me luck!!!!!!!!!!!

I am 21 and have been on birth control since I was 10 to help keep my periods regular. I have to say that this is one is not so great, it's horrible. This is my fourth pack of this pills, at first I thought the emotional out burst and mood swings would go away. I thought wrong they got worse and I have even more. I have taken two pregnancy tests because I feel as if I am pregnant but nope just the pills. My breasts are sore, I am almost always sick to my stomach, head aches, my period is still irregular and they said it would get better, i am producing extra vaginal fluid, my boyfriend constantly asks "why do you seem weird" "what's wrong" well I feel weird I am an emotional mess. Now that I see a lot of other ladies out there have the same issues I do I can tell my boyfriend what is wrong are these pills they suck. This is one med. that is chalk full of side effects. And to be honest I didn't get on birth control to question if I am pregnant or not or to go and blow money on tests that aren't cheap. That's and good luck to every one

I am 27 and I started birth control at age 21. I always had an irregular period with terrible cramping. I also had a very high sex drive.
The first pill I tried was Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo and I stopped taking it after 2 months because I felt depressed and I totally lost my sex drive. I always had perfectly clear skin and about a week after I discontinued this pill I broke out on my face and my back. I had a rash on my forehead. I also noticed a few dark hairs on my chin.
The next birth control I tried was the NuvaRing. This also made me depressed and moody.
I have now been on Loestrin 24 Fe for more than 2 years and this is the one that has worked best for me. The first few months I had my period and spotting. The first year on Loestrin I got my period once every 3 months and the period maybe lasted a couple of days and was very light. I must have taken more than 5 pregnancy tests. I asked my doctor about it and he told me that there was nothing to worry about not having periods. The second year my periods got even further apart. I went 5 months without a period then almost a whole month having a period (very light and a lot of cramping).
Besides having my period coming and going as it pleases, I feel great. My sex drive is still alive and I haven't experienced any mood swings. I do still break out on my face, usually around the end of my pack. I have not had a problem with breaking out on my back with this pill. I have gained a little weight, but after I hit 25 my metabolism really slowed down, so I cannot completely blame weight gain on the pills. I believe you have to work twice as hard to maintain a healthy weight when you get older.
With that said, I wish everyone the best on their BC journey!

Hello, my name is pam. About 6 weeks after my son was born I had made the choice to get the mirena iud. Well for 7mon after i got it I bleed. Also, new things started happening. I went to my doctor and discovered that I had an awful yeast infection due to the iud not being set right. He gave me one round of meds just for yeast infections. I went back for a check up and it hadn't cleared a bit. Got second round of med. Then about 2wks afterward I got a call from my doctor. He said that they found yeast infection, staff infection, and a strep infection that I am still having problems with after the level 4 anti-biotic that he gave me. I have headaches, body aches, no sex drive what so ever, mood swings that would send anyone away, and I am also on anti-depression meds ever since Ive had the iud.

I am 30 years old and have never had any children. I had the Mirena for 4 months. During that time, I had no energy and I gained 10 pounds (probably a combination of both the hormones and my lack of energy). I was also very moody. I took two pregnancy tests while on the Mirena because my belly was so bloated and I was not having a period. I convinced myself the only reason I was gaining weight so fast was that I was pregnant (of course, both tests were negative).
After reading these posts, I realized my issues were probably due to the Mirena and I decided to have it removed. I had it removed 4 weeks ago. Removal was painless and my doctor was able to find the string easily. I only had light spotting for two days after removal and no pain. Within two weeks, the bloating had decreased significantly and I'm losing the weight I gained pretty easily (low cal diet and running). I had my first period within 3 weeks. The only bad side effect of having it removed is excessive acne on my face.
Previously, I used the Nuvaring, and I think I will go back on it. Even if I had read these posts prior to having the Mirena inserted, I still probably would have tried it because I rarely have medication side effects. I think everyone's body reacts differently, but I definitely could not handle the Mirena. I would absolutely recommend the Nuvaring, I only switched to the Mirena for ease of use and costs. Nuvaring does not come in a generic and therefore costs me about $40/month.

cannot believe how many stories I have read about mirena and hair loss etc..etc.. etc.. I have experienced many of the side effects that everyone is mentioning.. I actually feel I could live with most of them if it weren't for the hair loss. I have had ( copying from other post.. ridiculous right?)Tired all the time ~ Depression ~ Hungry all the time ~ leg cramps ~ HAIR LOSS TO THE POINT OF BALDING IN SEVERAL AREAS ~ oily skin and bad breakouts ~ Mood swings (huge...yelling fits at my husband and the kids) ~ fluttering in uterus~Sore breasts.. I have medium thick hair that is about 10 inches. I noticed a bald spot in June and now have discovered 4-5 others starting. I just had the iud removed today and my OB pretty much tried to convince me that there is no way that the IUD is causing my issues. I have never had any of these issues before. I got the Mirena on 4/30 of 08 and noticed slowly but surely all of the side effects mentioned. My OB told me that the progesterone could not be causing my issues because it is such a small dosage that it would be comparable to spitting in the ocean as far as the amount that is in my blood stream. She said because I am black and 35 that I may have an autoimmune disorder and that I should stop reading blogs. I told her that all of my research wasn't from a blog and that ALOPECIA is a side effect just not mentioned in my pamphlet that I can find. I understand what she is saying and that she is the one that is the dr. but nobody knows my body better than I do.. I am in it!! I have !never had any problems and have been healthy my entire life. There is no history of autoimmune disease in my family. I am going to my primary care doctor.. to have some blood tests done. I think that the mirena has caused an autoimmune response in my body.. it may not necessarily be the progesterone..although I don't rule it out no matter what she says . the progesterone is synthetic and has an androgynous like activity that is similar to testosterone the main thing that causes male pattern baldness. also Mirena is made out of Silicone.. perhaps those of us that are having hair loss are having it due to our body trying to fight off the foreign invader of the IUD itself. I was going to go and have the Paragard inserted.. because i was thinking it may just be the progesterone.. nope... I read that many women are complaining of ACNE and HAIRLOSS even with that because its made out of copper. So with that being said.. not sure what to do.. may have to go back on Yasmin.. didn't seem to have any problems with that.. I really just don't want to risk putting another hormone in my body.. We all need to get together and look into a class action suit because I am tired of being made to feel crazy by doctors.. sometimes what seems to not be possible is .. especially when there are so many women having the same problem. Feel free to e-mail me re: a class action suit.. if they took depo off Mirena needs to come of too. It seems like it has really screwed a lot of peoples system up.. Hopefully I won't find out I know have a thyroid problem etc.. etc..

I'm on this birth control and we used a condom so how the hell did that happen?? I'm 17 years old, a student, a model.. this pregnancy has turned my whole world upside down. I'm seriously considering suing this company!!!

Reading your comments has really put my mind at easy. I'm 23 and on day 4 of my third pack. My first month I got a regular period, but I didn't get a period during my second month on the pill (which means that I am a little over a week late right now). In the past I have been on Ortho Tri Cyclen and Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo, and my period has always been on time. And in the 10 years that I've been having a period, it occasionally been early, but never late, and I have never once missed a period.
I've spend the last couple days terrified that I was pregnant (even though I have consistently been taking my pill at the same time every day), but this forum makes me feel a lot better. I think that I will still go out and take a home pregnancy test to be on the safe side, but hopefully my missed period is just my body's reaction to Loestrin.
I will give my body a couple more months to adjust to the pill, but if irregular, late or missed periods continue I am definitely going to switch birth control pills. It is not worth the anxiety of thinking I might be pregnant.
On the bright side, I haven't experienced any of the other side effects that you guys are mentioning. This pill has helped with my cramps, and I haven't experienced any change at all in my moodiness, energy level, acne, or weight.

Had my IUD inserted Feb 11 2009 with no complications. The first 2 months I bleed non stop (had ultrasound to confirm placement and had my hemoglobin level checked). By July I had gained 24lbs and looked 4 months pregnant. My hair was oily, my skin was oily and breaking out, and I was no able to sleep at night. Only pro so far was the lack of my menses - only smearing for a couple of days every month. I had it removed since my husband had his vasectomy and felt great for 3 weeks... then the trouble started. I bloated up, and my GI system shut down. I was so constipated no matter what I tried it was unsuccessful. My back was killing me and I felt like my insides were falling out. My breasts swelled up, were warm, and nipples actually discharged a lot of what looked like milk!!!! (pregnancy tests -'ve). My headaches were monumental - nothing got rid of them! II also felt cold... it didn't matter how hot it was outside of if the humidex made it impossible to breath- I would be wrapped up in a blanket, and sweater and have the chills. had insane waves of nausea and vomiting and this lingering lethargy that would have me sleeping 10 hours a night (never heard my 1yr & 2 1/2yr old at night) and could nap at least 2x/day. My doctor repeated an abdominal and pelvic ultrasound and found nothing wrong. It is now 3 months post removal and I am just beginning to feel like myself. The back pain is still there but faint, unfortunately the weight has not come off and my abdomen is still distended but not as firm as before. I am praying as time goes by the weight disappears. I wish I knew all this before hand.

Wow - I can't believe I didn't stumble across this website when I was researching Mirena. I got mine in April 09 and have had a lot of random things going on that I never put it all together that it could be the Mirena. Today, I took TWO pregnancy tests - tender breasts, swollen vag, face breaking out, achy stomach and back, specific stomach weight gain - it HAD to be pregnancy!
My girlfriend told me she was going insane w/ the same thoughts until she started reading stories of other peoples issues. Now, I'm reading all of your stories and just shaking in disbelief...
Weight gain - check.
Sore back/lower abs - check.
Slight odor - check
Terrible PMS symptoms but NO period - check
Zero sex drive - check.
Hair loss - check.
Wild mood swings - check.
The list goes on and on, it's madness! Since day one it has felt "weird" when I go to the bathroom, I just chalked it up to me thinking too much about it being in there.
I'm 32 with one young child and would prefer not to have another. I'm calling my Dr. tomorrow to discuss my options. Thank you ladies for sharing your experiences.

I have great experience with this pill unlike others. Just like with any pill you can get melasma which is dark spots on your skin. I got few but from my previous pill witch was Yaz (it was terrible; daily headaches, no periods which is normal but kept buying pregnancy tests because of it, terrible breast soreness, vaginal dryness, zero sex drive). With this pill, at the beginning of taking this pill, first few days I felt little nauseous but nothing that bothered me. First month I had some breakthrough bleeding but that was gone after a month. No headaches, slight breast increase which I am not complaining about (it can happen in pills with higher estrogen). No breast soreness, no weight gain, no darkening of the skin so far, sex drive is normal. The only negative, this pill costs $75.

HI,
I had mirena put in during Jan 2008.
I had it taken out on Sunday after presenting to casualty on Friday morning with heart palpitations, shaking and heaviness in left arm. The casualty doctors ran tests but couldn't see what the problem was.
I've experienced increasing heart palpitations to the point where they are every day - and several times per day. I've had my thyroid checked.
I'm 36 years old, not overweight although I've definitely put on weight and not been able to shift it, since having this IUD. I've been moody and incredibly tired. My skin hasn't been great also.
I have four kids and so know my body well and know how quickly I normally bounce back after giving birth. Since Ive had the mirena, my body has felt like it's been pregnant. I've done numerous pregnancy tests.
It's only been a couple of days since Ive had the IUD out but already my mood is better - like it always was before I had the IUD. My stomach doesn't look as bloated but more importantly, the heart palpitations have reduced.
I can't say with any certainty, YET, that any of my symptoms have been caused by the IUD but I will give my body a couple of months to recover and monitor the progress.
The doctors told me mirena couldn't have caused all of the above......time will tell.

Wow! It was such a relief to read all of this. Believe it or not, my fiance is the one who found this website for me. I have been experiencing horrible cramps, bloating, breast tenderness, decreased sex drive, nausea, and it has completely messed up my cycle. I have gained a lot of weight despite exercise. I just recently developed dry skin patches and didn't know that it could possibly be related until I read some of the other blogs. After the initial bloating, breast tenderness, nausea and weight gain, I was convinced that I was pregnant. I didn't know what else those symptoms could mean. I never even considered the Mirena. Needless to say, MANY MANY pregnancy tests later, I found out that I was not pregnant. Just when I thought I would feel relieved, I only became more worried that something was seriously wrong with me. After having terrible pains through intercourse and unusual discharge, I told my fiance how upset I was that all of these thing were happening to me. He then did search and found this website and boy am I happy about it. It's nice to know I am not alone! I had asked a few people I knew (before inserting it) who also had the Mirena and they all had great things to say about it. I had mine inserted in the Spring of '09 and I just can't take it anymore. I am definitely having this removed! I only wish I had done this research before. I guess the pamphlets I had read left a few things out.

I've had Mirena for almost a year and I'm wondering if there is anyone who's suffered adverse effects that didn't start until much later. I had the usual severe cramping and excessive bleeding for a few months after I got it, but my period has been pretty regular since then. I do have sharp stabbing pains (I'm guessing they're cramps) off and on. Very occasionally they are just terrible, but normally it's just like a quick shock every now and then. I can tell that there are extra hormones being put into my body because I have experienced all the stereotypical period side-effects (moodiness, cramping, cravings) much more than I ever did before I got Mirena. About two months ago I was sure I was pregnant - I had all the symptoms - but three pregnancy tests all came out negative. I'm not experiencing anything bad enough to get it out. So far it has actually been great. I feel terrible for everyone suffering all these severe side-effects. I guess I'm just wondering if these symptoms show up sooner or if they can start a year or more after Mirena has been in. Please let me know if there's anything I should be watching for. Thanks.

BUT...sept.08 i got PYCHO. thought it was PPD or just life changes. me and my hubby never fight. i have a perfect life as a stay at home mommy, bc he makes good money, so nothing to really complain about!! but i just start fights over anything now. its affecting a lot of relationships in my life.i have been experiencing things like ::: pelvic pain(spasums), headaches, cant sleep, nervousness to where i cant even go out in public, acne, anxiety, very depressed, angry, crying a lot, frustrated with everyone (even my poor baby), yelling a lot, dizziness,my left shoulder kills me, i am down to 110 lbs, nausea about 3 times a week in the mornings. This is absolutely NUTS! I had the Mirena inserted August 2007 because I was SURE I didn't want any more children but because I was only 26 they refused a tubal and suggested Mirena (which they talked about like it was the best thing since sliced bread). Well I fell for it, insertion wasn't horrible, hurt for a split second and a bit crampy for a while but nothing major...then I bled for 5 or 6 days HEAVILY. Then it died down to an annoying amount, just enough to have to use a tampon...for 3 MONTHS STRAIGHT! I was just about fed up and ready to have it removed when I stopped bleeding and haven't bled since (with the exception of very rare barely there pink spotting after sex a few times). Ive loved not having my period and none of the emotional ups and downs that I had always had with the pill or the patch. Everything was fine until about the 1 year mark, when suddenly one night I thought I was having a heart attack, no joke! my heart was beating really fast, and hard, my left arm was tingling, my chest felt tight....only to have every test in the book come back completely NORMAL. Talk about feeling delusional! I quit smoking, quit drinking, started eating like a health nut and exercising 6-7 days a week...and it seems I gradually feel worse and worse every day. I've noticed the past few months several things, bad acne on my back, sometimes on my shoulders and chest as well, which I have never experienced in my life, I'm "fuzzy" on my back, face and chest (blond but like peach fuzz), i've notice dark hairs on my chin that i pluck but seem to return right away, and sudden bouts of depression and mood swings that are very uncharacteristic for me. Looking back there have been several times where i was really tired, dizzy and nauseous and bought and took pregnancy tests thinking I HAD to be pregnant only to have a negative result. I don't think my sex drive has been affected though I've always been more like a male in that regard (lol) so if it has I guess it would just be more along the "normal" lines now than lacking. We have decided we want to try to have another baby but I've read on other sites the horrible side effects (like the "crash") after removal and how horrible your periods can end up being and now I'm petrified to get it taken out as much as I am to leave it in!
For all of you who have had it taken out, how long did you bleed, how badly and did you experience the "crash" emotionally?

Wow, I thought I was going crazy. I've been so sick the last week but didn't think it would be this new medication. I'm taking 150 mg once a day for 15 days. I have three left of which are going in the garbage. I missed a family reunion today because I'm so tired I can't function. It's like someone gave me a sleeping pill. I've taken three pregnancy tests of which they were all negative thinking I was pregnant. The nausea is horrible. Just talking about food makes me vomit. I have stomach cramps, severe lower back pain, my heart feels like it's doing flip flops at night. My face feels very hot at times. My hands feel like raw nerve endings when put in cold water or wind blows over them. My arms tingle and hurt when exposed to the sun. I just want to lay in bed and not face the world. I've been dieting and lost 15 pounds prior to starting the medication. Boom, all that stopped. Still doing all the workouts and carefully eating but have gained 4 pounds back. Very disappointing. I am so glad I found this site. You won't find this information on the manufactures website.

I have had my Mirena since 11/2008. I had it put in 2 months after my 2nd child was born. The insertion was easy and painless. I got a little crampy the first week and then after that all hell broke loose. I had a continuous non stop period from November 08 to June 09. I called my doctor several times and they put me on a hormone patch to try to stop the bleeding. It didn't work. I was told that the bleeding should stop by 6 months so I figured I would put up with it until then. 6 months approached and still bleeding, 7 months still bleeding, 8 months still bleeding. Finally at 9 months the bleeding stopped and I was thrilled. My excitement didn't last long. After one week of having no period and being excited I started developing what I thought was morning sickness. My breasts hurt, morning sickness (day and night), bloating, exhaustion, and so on. I thought for sure that I was pregnant. I made an appointment to see the doctor who informed me that my Mirena was still in place. She also did a urine pregnancy test and blood test, which both came back negative. She had no answers for why I was experiencing the symptoms. Now 3 weeks later, I still am having the side effects. My gut is telling me that it is a new side effect from the IUD. I believe that my body is now confused with the loss of a period and it is acting like I am pregnant. I have taken 6 pregnancy tests at home over the last several weeks, terrified that I am pregnant because of how I am feeling. I have had enough and called the doctor today to have it removed tomorrow. I am not going through the symptoms of pregnancy as my pregnancies were rough. I had morning sickness with both my children morning, noon and night the entire time and it was awful. I am definitely not going to put up with the feeling of being pregnant and all the nasty morning sickness feelings without the reward of an actual baby at the end. I would not recommend Mirena to anyone!

Wow, thank you all for your postings. I just wished I had found this before I had Mirena put in. I had it placed in Feb 2009, it's been exactly 5 months. I have been extremely tired and agitated. I didn't really associate this with the Mirena until reading the other posts. My hair comes out by the handful (with root attached), I never have solid stools, I have gained about 10 pounds even though I have been trying to lose weight through a diet and exercise program. All the weight is in my stomach and people keep asking me if I'm pregnant. I started to wonder if I could be seeing as I was crying all the time, extremely moody, and that I look at least 4 or 5 months pregnant. All pregnancy tests have come back negative. I got this put in the day before my fiance and I got engaged ( not knowing at the time) and last week we were about to call of the wedding because of my emotional state and constant conflicts. I have to wonder how much of this is caused by the Mirena. I have already made an appointment to talk to my doctor after reading what all these other women have been through. It's just so tough because with any type of birth control their are side effects so I don't want to make it out to be like this is the worst thing ever, it may be exactly what someone is looking for, but just be informed that there are some side effects because I like a lot of other women on this post was lead to believe that there were no side effects or very little side effects.

Well for the longest time I assumed that my side effects were because I was a new mom. Even though my friends had babies and were fine I figured it was just me. I just found this site and told my OB that I wanted it out but they insisted on running tests for my thyroid {norm} and anemia {norm} and I'm still waiting for the results of my STD {yes they went that far} panel, but considering me and my husband are faithful it really makes me question their sanity. Plus I got 3 kinds of pregnancy tests, Blood, Urine and Ultrasound which also paired to make sure my IUD was in the right place and checking for cysts. Yea all normal and no pregnancy. Go figure.
I've had my mirena since jan 07 right before I turned 19 and 2 months after I had my daughter. In the beginning I didn't notice side effects that is until jan 08 when I noticed I went from a fit 190 {which with my height and bone structure it was muscular and fit} to 250 which for someone who's life didn't change was odd. I went on a research weight loss drug which actually helped with some of the symptoms and dropped my weight to 195 but I still had the 4-6 month pregnant belly not happy at all. After the weight loss pills were done, I remembered the horrid effects. Severe migraines, pelvic pain, strange sensation to push while peeing {yes labor push}, nausea, mood swings, sore breasts, fluttering in abdomen, joint pain, lower back pain, Low to no sex drive {I'm 21 and its NOT NORMAL} and this fatigue its ridiculous! A sensation like the presence of a baby rolling you know that weird pressure? I honestly can't stand it anymore I want to be a normal mommy. Not weird and like an alien is living in my belly.... I love this birth control because it is good but the side effects are crippling. Between the pain, fatigue and migraines I can't hardly function, I'm 21 and SHOULDN'T FEEL LIKE THIS, It's actually rather saddening.
Is anyone else in their 20's and feels like this?

I am 28 and have been on Loestrin since March 2009. I was freaking out because this is the second month I missed my period in a row. I keep taking pregnancy tests to make sure I am not. When I did have my period it has either been super light or very heavy. I feel like I put on a lot of weight in my mid-section and my moodiness hasn't changed. With this pill my sex drive has gone down as well. Sorry a lot of people are having the same problems, but glad I am not alone. I actually have been off it since Sunday and still no period!
