I have been on Femcon FE for almost two months now. I switched from the Depo shot b/c it made my have my period for 6 mos straight! The first month I experienced some headaches and acne, I am very moody and tired all the time. My boobs hurt and my period was very short and started 3/4 days late. Now I am in the brown pills for the 2nd month and my period is 4 days late. Has anyone else experienced frequent late periods? I know two people personally that have gotten pregnant while on the pill, so I am scared that I am going to get pregnant all the time! I was also doing some reading on their website and it says you have to start the pill the first day of your period or on Sunday....well, I started on Tuesday cause my doctor said to start right away and I had been having a period for 6 mos anyway... Does this really matter? Could that be why my periods are late?? Ahhh!! I need answers!!

I read a message above "by APAINTEDSMILE and I agree with Alesse being one of the least negative side affects...all birthcontrols are going to have a side affect. However Alesse Is one of the weaker Birthcontrol pills out there.
-I had lesser day periods(3-4)
- my period always came on thursday
-no cramps/acne due to pms
-didnt get pregnant while on the pill
My guess for anyone feeling they were going crazy on the pill is due to youre own hormone levels ..and its called PMS
However as much for Alesse as I am I went off for a week and became pregnant right away , aswell as my younger sister, she also took Alesse and is pregnant after being off for only a couple weeks b/c it is a weaker birthcontrol pill going off the pill for even a week there is a high chance of getting pregnant. But as long as you take it properly Its a great form of Birth control With very little side effects...
The person who would rather have highblood pressure then a change in youre cycle, thats crazy..THATS A BIG SIDE EFFECT.that affects youre health.once you start Alesse and you get youre period, you shouldnt get it 2 weeks later it'll just change the cycle to 21 days on the pill and 7 days or less off for youre period. give it a couple months atleast for youre body to get used to the new B.C

Hi Ladies,
I'm on day 17 of my first pack of Yasmin. Thank God my doc gave me 3 months worth of samples because I don't think I want to buy this pill. Anyways, I've been having symptoms similar to most everyone else on here. I get a lot of cramping, back pain, feels like my hips are going out on me, not able to eat, constantly thirsty, extremely dry skin, etc, etc. I started taking my pills before bed. After spending a week and a half with these symptoms, I changed the time of day that I took the pills to the morning. Made me feel worse taking the pills in the morning rather than before bed. Went back to taking them before bed and I'm back to "normal". By "normal" I mean taking Yasmin. I called my OB's office and was advised that they do not want to take me off this pill until I've been on it for 3 months to see if it will help my condition. I have not had a normal cycle ever in my life, and I got pregnant while on the pill all 3 times. I had an ultrasound done last month, and was told that when I have my period, the lining of my uterus is not leaving. I was told that my lining is 17-18 cm in diameter when it should only be 4-15 cm in diameter. My doctor wants to see if this will help me shed the lining of my uterus and have a normal cycle. Needless to say, I have noticed a few "good" benefits from Yamsin, I can't eat as much, therefore I'm losing weight and the hair that I've lost from my last 2 pregnancies is starting to grow back. Ladies, if any of you are Yasmin for the same reasons as I am, let me know if this has helped or worsened your condition. I would be grateful for any advise you may have.
Thanks,
Georgette

I have been on Desogen now for 8 years and love it. I have never had side effects. My cycle is not heavy at all as it was before taking the pill. It also only lasts about 3-4 days and I have never gotten pregnant while on the pill. I would and have recommended it to others.

I was on yaz for close to 4-5 years. I started taking antibiotics and my husband and I became pregnant while on the pill. We were well aware of chances of becoming pregnant. From the day I found out i was pregnant I started throwing up. I LOST 15 pounds during my pregnancy due to being sick all of the time. I had constant heartburn and choked all of this up to being pregnant with a little girl with a head full of black hair! The day my husband was suppose to go back to work from his leave (exactly 2 weeks after having my baby) i started throwing up at about 3am due to intense stomach pain that radiated into my chest and back and couldn't stop. He stayed home. The next day it happened again, my husband assumed i had postpartum depression and told me i would be fine and left for work. I tried to go back to bed but couldn't stop throwing up long enough to go into the next room and check on my crying newborn. I had to beg him to come home from work, we got a babysitter, went to the hospital, they did an ultrasound and admitted me. 12 hrs later I was on the operating table having my gallbladder removed. I now suffer with DAILY diarrhea immediately after I eat ANYTHING and stomach pain. I try to stick to a low fat diet but it doesn't help!!!! i have constant stomach pain, headaches, nausea and heartburn. Not to mention the FOUR scars that i have from the surgery. When i started taking Yasmin and eventually yaz NOWHERE did it say that it could cause gallbladder disease!
