It was such a relief to read side effects experienced by so many ladies, i was begining to believe i was loosing the plot!!! what with mood swings, nausia, headaches, stabbing pains, and much more.... I had the mirena fitted about 8 months ago for heavy painful periods which i have had for as long as i can remember so the thought of normality and freedom was heaven. also not having to go through anymore trial and error medication taking seemed to good to be true. I really thought mirena was my answer...(Oh How Wrong)..... Iv had enough of all these horrible feelings and was about to go to my GP for a prescription for something to treat depression, im normally quite a level headed person but i couldn't explain the feelings i was having. I decided to look on the internet for side effects of mirena and hey presto here i am!!!! what a relief i actually did because instead of taking another prescription away with me i hope to be getting this foriegn body removed ASAP... before Mirena my specialist told me my other option was a hysterectomy im not sure what this procedure involves for me but at this moment my priority is getting this thing out!.

I started taking Yasmin 2 months ago and have not felt right since the day I started taking it. I just haven't been myself lately and couldn't figure out why. After reading about the side effects others have experienced, now I know what the problem is. I've been extremely tired and have started feeling depressed. I've gained weight and in general feel extremely bloated. I'm a runner and even though I have been running, I can't seem to lose the weight or bloated feeling. I've also had random bouts of nausea, and absolutely no sex drive. I am going off of it ASAP.

I am a 39-year-old female who was put on Toprol 25 mg about four years ago due to heart palpitations. The Toprol didn't affect the heart palps at all, but I liked the fact that it kept my heart from racing after I ate, which had been a problem for me since high school. I took it sporadically for a couple years. At some point I started the generic, but I can't remember just when.

About two years ago I noticed that I was hearing noises in my right ear. Gradually the noises prompted me to see my PCP. She thought my BP was a little high (about 138/80) and she doubled my Metoprolol dose right away to 50 mg. She told me the noises were caused by my blood pressure, not the medication.

The noises got much worse right away and I was hearing them almost 24 hours a day. Sometimes it was a whoosh-whoosh noise (which I guess is classic for high BP) and sometimes just like a faucet had been turned on in my ear. At this point I definitely suspect it's the medication itself, not the BP. On days when I don't take the med, the noises are much better or not even present. My heart does tend to race though, and the palps are the same either way.

I'd like to wean myself off the med, and if my BP elevates try a different medication. I can't stand the noises anymore so my priority is to stop them. I am curious if this particular side effect has happened to anybody else here?

My second run in with a blood clot resulted in passing out on my way to pick up my 8 yr old daughter and being rushed to the ER because of a PE (near death), I'm thankful to be alive however (no reason for PE and being on coumadin for the rest of my life) I feel so tired now, I don't want to go to work, I can't concentrate, I suffer from dizzy spells, I'm always hungry (weight gain), nausea sometimes. before passing out I was working out, doing Taebo, the balance ball thing, walking. Now I feel like I'm and old woman. I'm 32 yrs old and taking #5 coumadin and I feel so bad the majority of the time and yes the doctors say "it's shouldn't be the coumadin" but I think it is my whole world has changed and I'm just trying to get back to being the fun, outgoing, active me. I miss myself so much, its like I'm depressed. I MISS MYSELF.

I get intense headaches and neck aches when I take Adderallxr and Adderall (i have tried both). when i stop taking it, after 2-3 days the head aches are gone, and the neck aches greatly diminished. However, I also take Isosorbide - a long acting nitrate like nitro glycerine. I have discovered that the two probably interact. if i stop the isosorbide, the headaches and neckaches are at a much lower level. I have found that relaxation techniquies help lower the neck pain and headaches also. I suspect that Adderallxr makes one more susceptible to anxiety (of which i have a lot right now due to challenges in job).

I also have trouble sleeping. I will try orange juice an hour before I go to bed to see if that helps.

When i get the dose right, Adderallxr is great. I am much more focused, calmer, and get a lot more priority things done. I wish I had known about ADD 40 years ago. I will somehow figure out the right dose and how to diminish the side affects. The benefits are too good for me to quit taking Adderallxr.
