I started on Mircette about a year and a half ago. Since then, I have experienced extreme anxiety, migraines, depression (crying for no reason), numbness and tingling in my arms, hands, head, face, and neck. Before this, I was a very easy going gal. Now I get nervous around crowds, in restaurants, movie theaters, and have had to change my lifestyle so much, that I don't even go out with friends as much and feel like I am losing control of my life and body. I just saw my doctor today (she is my new dr. and did not prescribe Mircette to me). She said since I have Migraines, I shouldn't even be taking Mircette, which has a very high dose of progesterone. She said 1 in 20 women cannot take high amounts of progesterone and that she never would have given me this pill. She advised me to go off the pill for 3 months to see how I feel. Hopefully, I will feel like myself again :)

Holy crikey. The docs put me on Advair Diskus for my shortness of breath , and although I've had minor anxiety my entire life, this sent it through the roof. When my girlfriend and I thought she might be pregnant, I flipped out and my mind raced for the week or so before we found out it was a false alarm. I've had that scare before, and wondered why I flipped out so much more this time around. Toward the beginning of April, I noticed my heart racing much more than ever, so I stopped taking it abruptly (nobody told me not to do that, and the doctors later on said it was fine to do so!). Later on that week, I had some trouble at work (big but not anything I haven't conquered before), and was in the doctor's office on the EKG because my heart rate was twice what it should've been! They put me on Xanax, which helped (but threw me up and down emotionally and physically), but for the past 4 months I've experienced all sorts of paranoia, psychoses, and phobia. Luckily it's almost gone, so for those of you experiencing it, don't worry, it gets better!

Yes, I gained weight, but I'm in my mid thirties, so I figured I was just getting older, metabolism slowing & all that, but my doctor began reducing my dose from 200 - 150. Good God! Such a small reduction, but I had explosive anger issues and I couldn't well contain my emotions. An ad in a magazine got me crying and I couldn't stop! I finally ended up with tremors and had to leave work. I didn't consider myself psychotic before. I took Seroquel for sleep and as a mood stabilizer. I always took it at night. Now I have been exhibiting some kind of psychoses. I hope my body is adjusting. Sometimes I only took 100 mg, saving the other 50 mg for emergencies. Can't do that anymore. Besides asking the doctor to increase my dose back to 200 mg, what can I do?

Steroids have been a night mare in my life for almost 3 years.
I started taking prednisone to combat Sarcoid 3 year ago. I was so messed up I thought I was going to die. My blood sugar went nuts. Both upper and lower Blood pressure went crazy. I started shaking and droping things and just in general feeling awful. I was on a decreasing amt. starting with 80 mg in Oct. to going completly off of it in Dec. In Jan of the next year I went to a new pulmonilogist. She said I had asthma and recommended I take Advair. After three months I started experiencing psychoses. This went on for 18 months. Starting with episodes evry few weeks to episodes every few days. The last 3 months I had several prednosine doses for sever asthma attacks. That is when I started having the most frequent episodes.

It has been almost a year since my Dr. and I figured out what was wrong with me, after going through many blood test, an MRI on my brain, an EEG, many dollars, much heart ache and much missed work. The eposiodes have started to slowly taper off in frequency and intensity.

Ther have been several occasions I need the drug, a skin rash, another severe asthma attack and inflamation in a wrist injury. I used an ointment on the skin rash, advair for the asthma and an injection for the wrist injury. All left me with psychoses.

I become extremely emotional (my face screws up and I cry), I hallucinate (my head feels goofy), My moter skills are impared and I shake. I am out of comission for 5-6 or more hrs.

If you can avoid this poison (my opinion) do so at all cost.

God Bless.
