I went on NuvaRing in June or July 2005. and in may 2006 I started having eye pain behind my eyes, which i thought was my sinuses but it turns out it is posterior Scleritis, which is a form of localized autoimmune disease, which of course, the doctors know nothing about and cant treat unless I agree to take steroids all the time or Methotrexate (the same medicine used to treat rheumatoid arthritis and which causes hepatitis as a side effect). no one has told me that the NuvaRing and Scleritis could be related but after reading the multitude of symptoms women have had on this site, i am starting to wonder if there is a relationship between the two. i have no history of anything like this, I'm 26 and otherwise very healthy.

This question is for Sarah (Flowerbabies)

I have been off this pill for almost three months, but still get anxiety/panic attacks. My doctor sent me to two different psychotherapists to deal with my anxiety and they have indicated I follow an anxiety disorder workbook to overcome my disorder. I have panic attacks in public, where i start crying hysterically and vomitting, the last attack was yesterday at a mall, it was so bad that people wanted to call an ambulance. The reason I believe this is the pill and not me is because I never experienced these attacks before nor did I experience anxiousness. I was a very calm and collected person before all this. My friends and family saw me as a pillar of strength, now they're afraid to tell me anything in fear that I'll have another attack.

My question to you is, what did you do to cleanse your body of Yasmin? Is there anything I can do to speed up the process? Now of course I'm afraid of another panic attack happening at anytime, and it is embarrassing.

Please help, Ihave been off this pill for three months and I don't seem to be getting any better.

Hi everyone!
Well. It's now been 6 1/2 weeks since I took my last Yasmin pill. My husband told me yesterday that I seem more like myself these days! I asked him to describe how I USED to act. He told me that I would go off on a tangent for no reason, get my feelings hurt over tiny things, have days where I'd hardly talk at all. He said he's glad his wife is back!
Guess what?? I mentioned the side effects of Yasmin we have all discussed here to my doctorS (ob/gyn/internal specialist/family md & ENT!)....they all said they've never heard of any of it! They offered me Paxil,Zoloft, referral to psychotherapists, endless tests and bloodwork. I mean, Holter monitor,EKG,Echocardiogram,3 blood tests, and tomorrow they want to do a CT scan on my head. I'm thinking I don't really want to expose my head to radiation over this.
I've not had anymore "attacks",no heart palpitations,my so-called IBS with diarrhea has miraculously disappeared! But they doctors don't believe it could be the Yasmin because it's "such a mild dose of hormones". Can you all believe this??
I'm so freaked out over what's happened to me these past few months that I don't know that I'll ever take BC pills again. I'm contemplating asking to have my tubes tied. Really!
I'm so glad I accidentally found this site. Now if I could just find something to explain the burning pain sensation down the side of my neck and in my inner left ear and the tingles in my left arm I'll be SOOO happy. Could these be side effects too after 6 1/2 weeks off Yasmin?
Take care all of you. I'll check back periodically to see how everyone is doing! :o)
