I was on Coumadin for a blood cloth I had last year(I originally started on 2.5mg and kept getting bumped up higher and higer as my PT/INR tests kept coming back).
I had most of the symptoms described here. The three worst being fatigue, memory loss and hair loss.
I remember constantly being tired on this medication. I had to go back to work after a few months and I remember not being able to lift much of anything and being extremely tired.
When I would take showers I remember running my hands through my fingers and literally pulling out clumps of hair. Each and every time. I thought I was going nuts.
The worst was the memory loss. I had severe short term memory loss like you wouldn't believe. I would be fine one minute and then space out and I literally could not remember what I had done the day before.

so glad to read these comments as most of my doctors have told me warfarin has no side effects. mine are increased sensitivity to cold, foggy brain, memory problems, persistent itchy rash on my leg, clumsiness, lightheadedness, frequent fatigue.
on 9mg, Protein S deficiency. my INR also bounces all over the place too.

I'm a 36 year old female who survived a DVT and pulmonary embolism.
I've been on warfarin for one year. I was diagnosed with a protein c
deficiency. (most likely congenital). I'm having a lot of trouble keeping my
PT\INR in between 2 and 3. My Doctor is a real jerk. I'm looking into see-
ing a different one. Anyway, my symptoms are: lightheadedness, hair
loss, weight gain(I'm hungry 24\7),fatigue,numbness in my hands and feet,
hot flashes, redness on my nose and cheeks, and some kind of rash on
my right ankle, tachycardia, headaches, and blurred vision. I never thought
life could suck this bad. I've been taking anywhere between 7.5mg to
15m.g\day. Oh yeah I forgot to mention the worse side effect of all:
My period for 7 to 10 days. The 3rd and 4th day being unbearable to take.
Of course my Doctor says your not bleeding to death because you're not
passing clots. What an ___!!! My sympathy's to all of you.

I have been taking Coumadin / Warfarin since June 14, 2005. Two major complaints are clumsiness & I am very weak. On a lesser scale, I lose my train of thought and have to fight for the right words to use when speaking. Nothing comes normally or easily anymore. I can't keep my PT/INR in check. I was given a fairly wide margin before increasing or reducing the amount I take daily. but that doesn't seem to make any difference. My surgeon said once it was regulated I could have my monthly labs reduced to once every 2-3 months. I don't see that ever happening. Is there something else I can take that would be easier to regulate and not have these side effects?

I just started using Yasmin 15 days ago and in the second week of taking it, I started experiencing leg cramps. I was just laying in bed and my leg started feeling really weird... I just thought it was because I hadn't done any yoga for a few days. So I did yoga and walked for a while to see if I could loosen it up and nothing. It continued for the whole week so I started taking baths to soften the muscle, thinking that it had to do with lack of exercise, still nothing. I even had my massage therapist husband try and massage it out and still nothing. So I thought it may be early pregnancy symptoms, but the test was neg. I've been researching my symptoms for a week now, and I stumble across this sight. Thank you I will stop taking it NOW so that I don't become as ill as most of you, though I will still have the leg cramps checked out asap. Again thank you.
