I am totally shocked at what I have learned about Lipitor. My physician prescribed 10mg for me over 4 years ago. No major problems until recently. Severe neck/shoulder pain for about 3 months. Dr said it was a pulled muscle. Gave me Skelaxin. No help. Went to Chiropractor--yanked, cracked, beat, etc--no help. In the past 2 weeks or so I have developed pain in my hips, back and legs. Blamed it on being 52 years old. As I read some of the experiences on here I could relate to each one. I also have gained about 30 pounds in the past 4 years, short term memory is terrible. NO ENERGY> 3 years ago-Dr started me on Wellbutrin for depression, then added Zoloft. I am to the point now I want to get off of all this and see how I could really feel. Not sure about withdrawals. Any comments on stopping the meds?

I started the NR about a month ago. The first two weeks were going great until I started having chest pain and flu like symptoms. I'm 21 years old, I didn't think I should be having chest pains. I recently returned from a trip and sometimes I get sinus infections when I get home and I figured the chest pain was from a pulled muscle because I had an awful bed to sleep in or being in the car for 8 hours. I took the NR out last Sunday and all of my symptoms went away slowly throughout the week. But i thought it was just a cold until I read everyone else's posts. I put the NR in again last night and all my symptoms returned, the chest pain especially. I took it out this morning for good. My doctor told me to give my body 3 months to adjust but I can't feel like this everyday until my body adjust, it's just not practical. I guess I'll just have to remember a pill. The NR was just to good to be true, at least for me anyway. I just wanted to share my experience with everyone.

About 6 weeks ago my doctor decided to put me on a mile medication for BP and he prescribed a tiny 2.5 mg lisinipril daily dosage for me. About the same time, first or so of November, I caught a cold and had a bad cough with it. The cold symptoms eventually subsided except for the cough. It lessened in severity but is still with me. About 3 weeks ago I developed what I thought was a side ache or possibly a pulled muscle from the coughing but it progressed to be quite painful. I went to see my doctor today and it's apparently pleurisy which is not so serious but is VERY painful. He immediately took me off the lisinipril and prescribed a different BP med for me. He feels that this will solve my problem and the pleurisy will go away. He said that lisinipril can cause the urge to cough and it can be a problem at night while trying to sleep and this has been a problem for me. My husband also caught a cold, has a cough and is taking lisinipril. If he's still coughing in a week or so, the doctor may change his BP medication too.

I have been on the sulfameth/trimethoprim for 4 days and I am either retaining a ton of water or I am becoming a balloon. I am also wonder if the pain in my chest is not a pulled muscle but another side effect? Does anyone know?

Am taking Sulfameth/Trimethoprim for some kind of bug(tests for parasites was negative), I picked up in Costa Rica, possible Salmanila (sp) or ecoli. Had this bug for six months and want to get rid of it. Have severe neck pain (like a bad pulled muscle or wiplash) that started one day after starting the antibiotic. Taking Ibprophin for the pain and inflamation. Will finish the ten days of medication and live with the pain in exchange for killing whatever I picked up on vacation.

I have had asthma my whole life and have dealt with it by sitting still and calming down, until about 6 or 7 years ago. I started having problems after I moved into a new house and was prescribed Vancerill, Serevent and Albuterol. I had never had to go to the hospital for a serious asthma attack until I started using these medications, one time by calling 911(mostly albuterol for emergencies just like the rest of you). Recently my doctor switched me to Advair telling me that everyone is being switched over and they won't make the other meds any more. Every time I use it I get a sharp pain in my upper back just under the left shoulder blade that does not go away for 2 or 3 weeks. At it's worst I feel numbness all up and down my left arm and in my fingers. I thought it may be carpel tunnel but it is not, I was tested for it. When this happens I end up taking 25 advil a day or 6 DOANS just to deal and that does not even work. I AM DONE WITH THIS CRAP - NEVER AGAIN, NEVER EVER AGAIN WILL I USE ADVAIR. My doctor keeps telling me it's a pulled muscle that has not had a chance to heal! I am fit, I have worked out my whole life, I drum, I do gymnastics and I have never ever had this kind of pain until I used Advair for the first time. This is ***. I will never use that crap again, I don't care if I die from an asthma attack, it would be better that this crippling pain.
