I too had chest pains!! That is something that they do no tell you.
This medication definitely needs to be re-evaluated by the FDA, to determine what damage it may do to your heart.
I was already seeing a psychiatrist for Panic disorder so I had valium at home. However, I still ended up in the ER for my chest pains after getting no call back from my dr for two weeks telling her that I was having all of the other side effects ( except the hair loss), tingling in the hands and feet, fatigue, moodiness, different tastes of things, especially colas.
Nevertheless, I was diagnosed at the ER with having a panic attack....DUHHHH, how could I possibly be having a panic attack when I had taken about 2 1/2 10 mg valium to try to get my chest to stop hurting. I explained to the ER dr. that I had started taking the topamax 3 weeks prior...There absolutely needs to be better education of this drug and its terrible side effects!!!

Been taking it for a year now. I have become forgetful, arthritis pain has worsened, now so tired and foggy brained it came to the point of having to quit my job as I was unable to concentrate. And am now applying for disability. Have been without the medicine for 5 days now and finding it hard to sleep and having creepy crawly feelings on my skin. Has anyone heard that this is a aditictive drug? Because it sure feels like withdrawals to me. Still have my hair...thank god for small favors!

Well I been on Geodon for about a year and a half now and at first I was taking two 80mg pills at night which was making me so tired the next morning that I had trouble waking up for class and so after the next time seeing my doctor I was told to take one 80mg pill during the day and one at night. For a few months everything was fine because I was going to class and working and then all of a sudden I started having trouble sleeping at night.I was sleeping maybe two or three hours at night which was effecting everything.I had stop going to my classes and I had quit my job because I kept getting written up because I kept falling asleep at work .Now my doctor has me on 10mg of Zyprexa and I take two 60mg of geodon during the day but I still feel tired all the time.
I can't say if I do or don't recommend this drug because the side effects are different for each person and I haven't had a good experience with Geodon

Happy New Year to all
Hi there i am officially one year and 2 months off yasmin and i can tell you all its hard and each day is hard as you go through each and every symptom and every anxiety attack and every pain that you think may be leading to a heart attack/stroke/blod clot etc, and i am still here 14months after finishing this damn pill but i can tell you ITS GETS BETTER. to the new ladies to recap i was on the pill for almost 3years and yes i went through every side effect and struggled each and every day to the point i thought i was losing it even having a heart attack and life was so hard with a job and three young children and i felt like i was going insane and then i stumbled on this site and found silke and all the girls.
the first three months were horrendosu and the symptoms were so severe and i struggled immensly but then as i approached month five it slowly began to get better each and every day and i had everything high blood pressure huge weight gain massive anxiety heart palps i had to quit my job i was not coping and yet every day i came to this site and after a long six months i was getting better and better, i just want you all to know to hang in there i took it day by day and i know thats so hard when you are going through it but guess what i have been there and its gonne be ok. I took magnesium, vitamin c, a good multi vitamin and flaxseed capsules and i think these helped immensly, I have just been diagnosed with low iron so am on an organic supplement and my liver is not working as good as what it should so my naturopath will give me something for that in late january and thats why he thinks i have massive weight gain so lets see if what he gives me helps.
take care all and remember all of us who have travelled the road and still are are here to help you to realise you are not going insane and that you are on the road to recovery even though you fell like its a battle you will never win
take care

Dear Silke and all here,
toda i had my 12mth post yasmin bloods done and the results showed that i am low in iron....suprise...and my liver is not functioning at its proper rate a side effect no doubt caused through this wonderful drug. This she feels may be why i am carrying the weight besides eating and exercise well.
Just to update the new people to the site i struggled like you all anxiety , high blood pressure massive panic attacks to the point that i gave up a great job as i thoguht i was going mad, had the floaters in the eyes and now all these symptons have slowly faded but like you all in the beginning i felt like i was destined to feel so bad like i did. It got better around the 3-5mth mark and now apart from the weight gain and puffiness i am doing 90% ok. i work again can look after my three kids great and life is returning to how it was. I take every day religiosly flaxseed oil capsules, magnesium supplements and now after seeing a naturopath i am about to take whatever he prescibes for the liver natural of course. Just remember its going to get better i thought i was going to die, i felt useless could not ever go for a walk i quit my job and now things are ok, so take note and remember its hard every day but everyday is a day closer to yasmin recovery. Drink lots of water and i listened to charles linden relation tapes for my anxiety and i too think this helped train my mnd again to laugh at these attacks as a mindless game. Charles Linden wrote noone has ever died from an anxiety attack so remember whats the worst it can do, dont feed these attacks laugh at them and remember its the yasmin doing it and once your mind believes that the cycle begins to break
take care and you can always post me as i still check in each day

I was on prednisone for 3 days. Took my first pill in the evening and another the next day. Took another that night. I was up all night discussing thing with my wife. I WAS WIRED. I crashed the next day, almost quit my job (I was heavily under stress at work). I went home, STILL WIRED, and shuttled my kids around all day. I started to think about my experiences as a kid. I was under severe stress. That night, I collapsed on my laundry room floor. I hallucinated all night. My wife and children were extremely frightened. They called the paramedics. I went to the emergency room. I litterly thought I had died. At the emergency room, I was disruptive and they admitted me. I spent 4 nights in a psychiatric ward, sedated with drugs but unable to differentiated my flashbacks from the past from the prednisone. It has taken nearly a week, to finally come to grips with the fact that I am not crazy. It was this drug and some stress (albeit, more than usual) that sent me into a life-changing experience. BE VERY CAREFUL if you are taking Prednisone, can't sleep, and are under stress. Your life may change forever. Mine did.

I have been taking Singulair for almost a year for asthma. I visited my family physician and he prescribed it for me and also gave me an inhaler. It only helped a little bit. I found out that we had a mold/mildew problem in our house from a water leak. I moved there and having been living in a new place for 5 months. After the 1st couple months, the asthma did not clear up. I went to a allergist and they said it is from acid reflux and not asthma. I have been taking prevacid for a couple months. The breathing problem has starting clearing up. This week my doctor said to stop taking the singulair. I also just started seeing another doctor for my ADHD. This same week he put me on 10mg of adderall 2x a day. So far I have been feeling a lot better and not so depressive and impatient or angry as some put it. I also have been able to get up earlier and not always so tired. I quit my job and am starting a new in a couple days. Also, I put on a little weight & size since taking singulair. My waist and neck size expanded.
Maybe I am feeling better maybe because of the new meds and maybe because I stopped singulair and even getting a new job (i hated my other one). The thing I can't figure out is that after i stopped the singulair I had this pressure in my stomache area but it doesn't feel like it is in my stomach (it doesn't have the full feeling). It felt like this for a couple days. 4 days after I stopped it, my stomach area under my sternum swelled up. I could feel it as it was doing it and it bulged out a little. This happened within an hours time. I went to the hospital and they ran test and everything was ok.
They said to wait and see what happens or go get a laxitive to release my system because it was just gas. I didn't use the bathroom this day or the next. I took the laxitive. My system cleaned out today but my stomach area still doesn't feel right. Any ideas?

I am amazed reading these side effects. they sound just like me. I have been on Topamax for years. I started out on 25 mg and now I am taking 200mg daily. I have had migraines for 14 yrs.
I have had most of the side effects, i have lost weight, in fact I cannot to this day put on weight! I am 5'3 and only weigh 105 lbs. I have experienced the numbness in my hand, but it was only in my right hand. In fact it use to cause such bad tremors I could not write at times. I had to eventually get a check card, because I would be in public at times and not be able to write out a check. I would never know when it was going to hit.
I have also had memory loss and confusion. I have had to quit my job and I am tired all the time.
I have also had blurred vision, and now I am having problems driving at night.

Hi ladies... After being on yeasmin for three months, I was totally LOSING MY MIND. Never having struggled with depression or anxiety before I literally begged my doctor to help me get better. I has suffering horrible panic attacks daily, which i had never had before. I didnt want to go to work for fear of having one in my classroom. She dismissed the thought of it being the Yasmin, which i had just switched to, but i knew something had to be up with it. So after she presciped me Zoloft, I decided that was the last straw. I was not going to start taking an antidepressant before I at least tried getting off the pill. So i stopped taking it about two weeks ago, and switched to Ortho Tri cyclen Lo. I never took the zoloft. GOOD NEWS starting to feel like myself again, alot better, and patching things up with a fiance who wondered where his sweet girlfriend had disassapeared to, and not going to quit my job which i was about two minutes from doing. I dont feel 100 percent back yet, but the panic attacks have stopped and all i feel now is a little nervous, mostly because I am curious about when ill get back to normal and if I even remember how that felt. The depression has lifted compltetely. LAdies, please dont ignore your gut feeling when there is something wrong. Good luck to you all.

It is very interesting. I went to the doctor about a month ago comlaining of severe drowsiness, fatigue and lack of energy. I had just started yasmin, but didn't think anything of it because I have never experienced this before. I thought i had mono, but the doctor did blood work and took a urine samlpe to see if I had mono, was anemic, or was pregnant. They really thought I was pregnant, but I knew there was no way. All the tests came back negative, and I was very confused and upset because I knew something was very wrong with me. I have finally pieced it all together, It was due to Yasmin. I had started the pill and within a week I experienced these awful sid effects. I am now mortified, I quit my job b/c I felt so sick and I thought I was getting stressed out from school and working. I am definately getting off this pill, and for anyone who has experienced these side effects, get off the pill as soon as possible. I was miserable and everyone thought it was all in my head. I now know that yasmin was the reason for my feeling so sick. Please write on this site if you have experienced this too. I am very curious if other women felth the same way soon after starting Yasmin.

Thank god for these posts. I've been taking Yasmin for almost a year. My previous dr switched me to it because I was getting cists from my previous pill. At first, it was great, my periods went down from 7 really heavy days to 3 really light days, my mood swings and cramps settled down and I was happy.
Then it all went wrong. I started noticing my sex drive fade and blamed it on being tired from work. Then I noticed that I was gaining weight, and again blamed it on work. I quit my job and then noticed I was getting more and more apathetic and tired. I blamed that on not working. When I got a new, ACTIVE job, it seemed all of these issues multiplied to the point where I had NO sex drive at all, I was always either bawling-my-eyes-out depressed, or completely apathetic or flat-out viscious to everyone!
I am NEVER happy. I am gaining weight like crazy. I am always hungry. I am so tired that I can barely force myself out of bed, and even after a full night's sleep, I still can't make it through the day without a 1 or 2 hour nap! I'm constantly broken out, my eyes are messed up and I get headaches every day. My skin is super-sensitive to touch, it's to the point where if my boyfriend tries to touch my breasts, it makes my skin crawl and even the lightest touch on my hip makes me feel like I'm being pinched. My nails won't grow anymore, my hair is dry, my skin is oily and I get joint pain. And to top it off, now my periods are up to 8 days of nasty sticky, thick mess and my pms is back with full force. And I feel like I am never going to be happy again.
I'm 26 years old, for gods sakes, and I feel like a re-animated corpse. After examining everything else in my life that has changed I can only put the blame on Yasmin. I've done everything short of committing myself to the local psychiatric hospital to get myself out of this aweful place and had a feeling it had to be the Yasmin. I even told my boyfriend it had to be the Yasmin and he didn't really believe that such a tiny little pill could have such a massive effect on so many aspects of my life. Then he came here and found all these comments and immediatly called me. "Every side effect you've mentioned is listed by these other women! I read one and thought you had written it! I want you off this stuff NOW!"
We are calling my gyn in the morning and I am switching to something, ANYTHING else. I'm horrified that a pill that's supposed to help me is doing so much physical and emotional damage to me and I was never warned about it! I'm just relived that it's not all in my head.

I am 48 yrs old, and was prescribed lisinopril in early 2007. It immediately lowered my BP. Due to the stress of my job it took me awhile to notice that the headaches, dry eyes, hollows under my eyes, lack of color to my face, were in fact not from my job but from the medication. It took someone I work with to say to me, "You know, you can go on high blood pressure meds, but if you make the lifestyle changes you need to make, you can also go off the high blood pressure meds." Since I stopped taking the lisinopril, the headaches (like a sinus headache, but deeper), the hollows under my eyes, have greatly improved, my face has color again, and the only symptom I'm still experiencing is dry eyes--hoping that will get better with time, also.
I'm going to start a serious search for a homeopathic alternative. Would appreciate any info anyone out there has re: that. I've also quit my job, gone back to graduate school, and will spend the time now to pay attention to what my body is telling me rather than run to the doctor and get some drugs.
