My mother and I have both been diagnosed with Hashimoto's Thyroiditis and we both take levothyroxine. We both experience extreme pain and she has been diagnosed with fibromyalgia. I have not been diagnosed with fibromyalgia but I experience the pain body also. Another thing. I have been losing my hair. No reason, it's falling out from the root and I have some serious thinning. Memory...what memory. I can't remember anything. Has anyone received advise from a MD? Thanks

Hello Everyone,
I am just amazed by how many people have the same side effects and how many doctors don't listen! I started taking Levoxyl in Nov 2007 after having RAI on Aug. 30th, 2007. I've never been in such pain. Most of it has subsided, but now it feels as if someone divided my body in half and my right side only gets minor muscle aches and joint pains and muscle spasms. But the left side of my body, from my neck to me toes...my muscles feel tingly, knotted, sore, burning points, spasms, itchiness, hives and it come and goes almost constantly. I am currently taking 125 mg. But the weird thing is that before this happened, I would get torturous menstrual cramps. Ever since I started Levoxyl, I get NO cramps - at all! I am trying to find info regarding Levoxyl and how and if it affects hormone levels. Can anyone help me on this? Thanks!!

I am a 38 year old women who is diagnosed with Hypothroid. I was on Levoxyl for a couple weeks and got changed to Armour and was feeling pretty great more like myself. I got switched to Levoxyl again when I found out I was pregnent. I had constant headaches, rashes on neck, loss of concentration, muscle aches and heart palipatations.
I also have depression. I ended up loosing the baby and have some bad days most of the time. My emotions are all over the map.
I am switching my doctor so I am hoping that I can be put on armour again to start feeling like myself.

I have began Levo .1 and started having heart palpitations , chronic anxiety, and diarrhea, bloating miserable. I lowered the dose to 0.50 and still continue to experience the palps. I went to the doctor at urgent care yesterday and we decide to lower the levo to 0.025 in the am and 0.025 in the pm to see if that helps for a while. Hears hoping that it works. The side effects on here are terrible. I hope that mine go away after I get adjusted to the dose or quit it all together. It is harad denoughg to deal with a total thyroidectomy then a RAI 131 treatment now this crap! It makes you wonder if you are ever gonna feel normal again?

I have been on synthroid since 1982 after RAI to treat Graves. I had 1 child since then and was early 20's but around 30's started having weight gain and fatigue etc. I stopped the meds in 1992 on my own for several months then dr was very scolding and said never do that again. Ever since I went back on I have been gradually worse and worse. Went from 105 in 1982 to 192lbs now. I feel so helpless and lack of care from doctors in trwating me. 1996 had hysterectomy and both ovaries removed which has caused even greater imbalance of the estrogen and thyroid. I pray that I can find a cure that does not require medication like synthroid. Tried Armour in 2005 but did not get better. Lost a little weight but now I found it again and more. The only doctors in MN that I believe can help do not take insurance and I am single parent of 2 children and cannot afford to pay out of pocket expenses. I have already spent close to $1000 to the naturopaths but they sold me way too many supplements, I cannot even take all them its too much plus they both said lose weight. I have no energy or mind skills to implement a structured diet and exercise plan. Anyone know a doctor in twin cities, MN that takes insurance Preferred one that can help me with bio-hormones? Tmaya
