This website is a joke! After I had my Mirena inserted 4 months ago I started reading on the internet about possible side effects. I was furious with myself that I hadn't Read up on this before the appointment. There were so many horrible reviews involving hair loss, weight gain, acne, and mood swings! I was so scared and actually thought about removing the Mirena that week. I then found multiple reviews on websites not owned and operated by other drug companies that are trying to scare people in order to prevent the sale and use of the Mirena and the side effects listed here were a 180 degree difference. I have not experienced any weight gain, in fact, I recently was able to shed 5 pounds from picking up running again (so it is possible to LOSE weight on the Mirena as well). I have had zero hair loss, have not had a pimple anywhere or any random hair growth. My live in boyfriend and I have discussed if we've noticed any mood swings or changes and my mood which is usually optimistic and positive has been the same since I had the Mirena inserted. My periods are much lighter and although they can last an extra day or two more than what I was used to, they are light and I have not had any cramping. I'm writing this review not because I absolutely love the Mirena, I think it's a fine form of BC but who LOVES their BC, isn't it all kind of a pain. The Mirena is by far the most convenient form of birth control and I don't worry at all about missing a day and the chance of getting pregnant. I'm writing this review because I encourage everyone to talk more with their doctors about the side effects and look around on the internet for REAL websites.

I am 45 and had the device inserted in June. Since then I have had an annoying constant red-brown discharge and my period three times. My menstrual cramps are definitely greatly lessened but what is freaking me out (apart from the discharge) is the anxiety I am experiencing for no reason. I am also feeling depressed. I am greatly concerned as being on the pill many years ago I had a mild stroke and my doctor assured me that the hormones ion the Mirena stay in the uterus. Why then the sudden anxiety attacks? I have always been a really laid-back person - I can only relate this sudden appearance of anxiety to the Mirena - it started about two weeks after I had it inserted.

I am now debating whether to ride it out - has anyone had the anxiety subside?

WOW. 1st of all i must say if u r about 2 take budeprion, DON'T!!!! EVER!!!! i read these posts b4 i took it, i read all about the side effects of this drug and didn't take it as seriously as i should have. i figured i would give this drug a chance because my depression was so bad nothing at all helped, ever, and i figured i had nothing 2 lose. well, i lost my f***king mind. i am hundreds of times worse than i was b4, i am insanely irritable, angry, self destructive, depressed, i feel like a monster. i have been taking it 4 2 weeks, and i am very dizzy all the time, i feel like i am losing my vision. everything is really blurry and i swear it feels like i am going blind and i cant see very well at all.

i cant believe i did this 2 myself by taking this awful drug. whoever said it was way better than no drugs was so right... my depression was bad b4 but this is out of control!!! its f***king amazing.... i am whacked out beyond belief and so much worse off... soooooo much worse.... i have the same things running thru my head over and over and over and over all day!! and it is all awful!!!! i was NEVER EVER EVER this bad, nowhere near this bad.... now i am completely psychotic and utterly insane and i feel dizzy, drunk, and i cant see. i feel awful. i am so rattled up... if u want a fair warning from a real person, here is my testimonial, NEVER EVER touch this disgusting stuff. my god... how in the hell do ppl get away with giving ppl this crazy shit???? seriously????? sadly... i know no1 will ever give me an honest answer 2 that question... there isn't one!!!!! =(

Too Everyone on this devil drug get the hell off it..My wife is Dead because if it.. Its happened so quick.We are from arizona(mesa) It pretty much happend in one day.I was at work My mother in law took sandra too go see a (her doctor) she was really white out of breath weak and coudnt breath ..Rite away they told her to go straight to the emergency room.They thought she was bleeding inside.They took care of her rite away. They started to take alot of test cool everything came back awesome. Then they said we are going to run a Kat scan.Bam that was it.Came back to us said she had Pulmonary Embolism .They said they can treat it.Never said you can past from it.So they took her to her own room in the hospital ..Started treating her for the blood clots in her lungs ..Everything was looking good getting color back and thinking positive.You know were like cool 3 4 days in the hospital eat good food alittle vacation dont have to take care of our son Nick 12 years old .Her mother was with us up until 1120 pm she was tired and told sandra that she was tired no problem go get some sleep and I will take care of her.She was resting pretty good then around 1220 pm about a hour later BAM stood up Cant breath and she was at white as ghost.She was suffering I could tell I called a nurse.THat when it happend so quickly They gave her oxygen nothing couldnt breath its was like she was having A CARDIAC ARREST her body couldnt function she was really tiny(her Nickname was peanut) 130 pounds then one doctor came then another like it was ER the show.I couldnt do a dam thing .Then the took me out of the room I knew something was up that was the last time I saw her alive suffering.I was sitting in a chair about 4 rooms over.Lights going off over the door.There was about 10 people in her room.Lights going off red white red.THen I heard them say Go GET A SOCIAL WORKER.I knew in my heart she was gone.They tried to give her CPR for about 20 min nothing.Then they said they want to call any family .They called her mom and Dad.and said they are going to try 10 min of cpr nothing they came out of the room and told me she died.Wow 35 years old both of us .Then her parents showed up and I had too tell them their daughter died all in one day..So know we know it was from yaz..All the signs losing hair cant breath always nervous lots of head aches .Every thing was their signs .Just because of that stupid pill.. Monthly wicked migraines, right before period starts. Sometimes lasting on and off for 2 1/2 days. I had one so bad I had to go to the ER. I've never had problems with migraines before in my whole life. A few were very bad and makes me not want to do anything all day. I went to the neurologist just to get a pain medication for this.

Also was diagnosed with allergies last summer because I had 2 bad sinus infections.

Recently I have started to have acid reflux every night and now sometimes in the mornings. This sucks!! I am getting this removed.

I did several internet searches over the past several months and all these symptoms are caused by progestin (levonogestrol). This is not worth it.

I've had this thing in for over a year now, but all these symptoms appeared after getting this thing in.

Ive also been very moody around the time of the month, super irritable and bitchy.

My gyne suggested to take another drug to counteract, (basically prozac with another name) but that's like taking speed to counteract a downer. No thanks!!!!!!!!!!

I got this thing put in because of heavy periods, but it is totally NOT WORTH IT!! My health has suffered because of this.

Cure for side effects? CoQ 10 helped me it could help you to. I don't think the private mail on this site works. But nobody needs me, do the research yourself! checkout coq-10 and how lipitor and other statin drugs deplete your body of it causing muscle atrophy. (see my previous post for link)
I don't recommend websites or charge (even though I'm on social security disability w/kids and financially challanged ;-) I;m just trying to help people get better by pointing them in the right direction.

I was crippled up on crutches! Worst pain in my life! Couldn't even get to the bathroom 15' away WITH THE CRUTCHES!! If felt like muscle was tearing with each step, within a week the pain was gone!! The mental fog was gone also and I quit taking the Prozac, but this might have been also due to the Acetyl-L Carnititne.(500mg 3X a day)

I just know that stopping the lipitor didn't stop the pain and confusion!

God Bless all as they try and work their way through these terrible side effects! Remember I had to increase the coq 10 to 900mg a day before I saw benefits on the 3rd day.... There is hope! I hope it works for you!

Starting taking Lipitor 20mg 3 weeks ago to the day and all of a sudden, over all pain in the muscle and joints to the point I needed to lie down and sleep for 2-3 hours. After I wake up, I feel like a real person again and then within 1 hour, bang right back to pains and a fuzzy feeling in my head!! Dr did some retest and told me that it's not because of the medicine and could be a flu but no flu I ever had felt or acted like this. I have been off it for 4 days now.. does anyone know how long does it take to get this stuff out of your system!!! I want my life back thank you!

I have been on Yasime for three months and have never felt more depressed in my entire life. I am guessing that it is because of this pill. I feel like i will never be happy again! I don't even like myself. Please tell me it is a side effect of Yasmine. I feel crazy! My rational mind says that i can over come it, but no matter what i do i still feel really sad and on the verge of tears. I hate the fact that doctors don't really care and just give you a pill because it benefits them! How dare they! I am a real person with a life. AND i want it back. I would be very curious to know how many doctors actually take this pill or prescribe it to some one that they care about?? Any doctors out there reading this? If so be real with your patients. Aren't they the reason you became what you are?
