Mine reaction was to Avelox, which is a fluoroquinolones flor-o-KWIN-o-lones) just like Levaquin. Within less than 5 minutes, I began to feel pressure in my chest. Shortly after that, I began to feel as if I were shaking severly on the inside. (From the outside I appeared to be normal.) I finally had my husband call 911. The paramedics were VERY reassuring that I was going to be ok; however, I didn't feel like it. I had a very difficult time comprehending what they were saying to me - had to keep asking to repeat themselves. All vital signs were totally normal. I went to ER later. I was scared to . Anyway, severe nausea had developed, so they treated that; however, same story - vital signs are all fine. When I got up the next am, began having pressure in chest again. Stayed in bed most of day. Around 24 hrs after taking this medicine, I finally felt normal again. FYI - CIPRO is also in the same family of . Had taken a couple of months prior for Bladder Infection and began itching from that. I will NEVER take another fluoroquinolone medication again. You must be very careful when your doctors prescribe these NEWER medicines. I am sticking to the older from here on out!

I started taking Lisinopril for my bp about 2 1/2 months ago and even though it did lower my bp, I started having strange side-effects. It started out with drowsiness throughout the day, no matter how much sleep I got. And, waking up feeling drowsy even after 8-10 hours of sleep. Then, I started getting strange aches and pains throughout my body, like I was getting over a stomach flu. My asthma also flared up and I started having to use my inhaler for the first time in almost 15 years (usually I just need it after exercise.) The side-effects continued to get worse over the next months with increased fatigue, drowsiness, coughing, anxiety, muscle aches, poor concentration, feeling like my nerves were "shot," headache, weakness, tightness in my lungs, numbness in my hands and feet, and just plain feeling bad.
I made an appointment to see my doctor because I thought there was something seriously wrong with me. It crossed my mind that I might be feeling this way because of the Lisinopril. I stumbled across this website and after reading everyone's testimonials, I decided to stop the Lisinopril. I haven't taken it in 3 1/2 days, and I am already feeling much better. I would rather try a more holistic approach to lowering my bp then taking Lisinopril.
I hope this helps someone else out there who might be going through the same thing.

has made me miserable. Moody, bitchy irritable and most of
all a lack of a sex drive. Its made me anxious and horribly snappy.
I am SO glad to be off of it and i cant wait until its out of my system. Does anyone know how long it takes to be completley gone and too feel normal again? I dont know anyone who has been happy on this birth control!
thanks for everyones imput, its very reassuring to
know im not the only person feeling nuts on this medication!

This stuff is aweful. I took 6 pills total over 3 days, and wow, headaches, burning left foot (comes and goes, mostly after up walking aroung then sitting down) Pressure in the back of my head is aweful. I haven't taken this drug for 4 days, but still have these stupid side effects. Anyone have any reassuring comments for me? Has anyone had this problem and did it go away after a while?

hi, i used to have the same anxiety when i was on yasmin,i was convinced that i had something terrible and that i was going to die. i went to my doctors and had a complet check up and everything was fine. if i start to worry now i try to think positively and keep myself busy. do you have a healthy lifestyle? if not, try to eat healthy foods (organic if posible to avoid artificial hormones in meat etc) take a good vitamin supplement and excercise, the fitter you are the more confidence you will have in your body.it works i promise! please keep telling yourself when you get worried that you are fine and just keep reassuring yourself hopefully your mind will pick up this new way of thinking and will not keep drifting back to the negative patterns. i hope some of that helps you.

Hi Sisters,
Yasmin is my first BCP (even though I'm in my mid-30s!). After taking this pill I have put myself, my family and my boyfriend of 9 months (who sadly has felt the effects more than anyone, I think) through Hell! I'm generally a happy, positive person but about 3 days after taking Yasmin I noticed I felt: *Depressed, *Anxious, *Moody, *Tired, *Insecure, Violent! (to a degree).. Generally lost a sense of myself! On the 5th day of taking it I thought of doing a search on the internet - WOW. It was shocking and sad but so reassuring that I wasn't alone! Then I went to a local doctor, with my boyfriend for support, with the aim of switching to another drug. The doctor told me I wasn't giving the drug a chance, as it's generally a "low-dose" contraceptive and to wait a couple of months at least before judging it.. Even saying "maybe there's an underlying reason for your behaviour".. "Would you like to see a psychiatrist?" I'm sorry, but after hearing the stories here I didn't want to wait. I even started to want to cry right then. Thank God my boyfriend cut in and said, look Doc, just prescribe another pill and in her next cycle she can give it a go. So she did! However, I thought I'd stick with Yasmin meanwhile. WELL that night I had a major episode, crying for no reason, getting violent with my boyfriend verbally and physically - It was horrible. The next morning (only a couple of days ago) I decided to stop taking Yasmin. Last night I started feeling a little less emotional, but still not myself. However, one other side effect I'm physically experiencing is I'm still bleeding - on my 9th day! This has never happened to me - My max. ever is 6 days. Then again, I've never taken the BC Pill before, so could happen with any of them.. Hope not! Well, all the best everyone - From my short experience with Yasmin I hope it gets barred from being prescribed soon.

I was prescibed levaquin 500mg. 10 days for broncitis, day 3 I had severe leg and muscle pain, also severe swelling in my feet, I feel like I ran a 26 mile marathon!! also severe fatigue. I did not have any symptoms like this before I started levaquin in my life. pharmisist says this not one of the sideaffects!!!! I told him this is a relatively NEW drug so the jury is not in... I think the fda should do more tests on this drug!!!! hopefully leg pain and feet swelling will go away soon, but other people comments is not reassuring!!!

Results are in....
all normal beside my iron is low....
doctor thinks the natural tablets that help regulate female hormones may have masked the progesterone levels (at least he believes me.....lol) but its reassuring to know that sugars, thyroid, etc are ok.
blood pressure still 130/90 still telling me i need to lose weight (i am on low gi diet at the minute) and trying as hard as i can i put on 15kg on yasmin and now weigh 90kg so understand blood pressure rises with weight but hey i see some larger than that ladies with no blood pressure issues so i know this is a definate yasmin legacy .and considering i had normal blood perssure on yasmin in the beginning and its only rises its largest when i was off it.
Question for ny ladies that gained weight with yasmin , did the blood pressure decrease naturally or did u lose weght and it decreased.
thanks in advance

Lisa Here,
just an update went to docs yesterday and my old family doctor has moved to this clinic and i was so relieved to be able to tell him all about this poison. He is going to monitor me for a while with the blood pressure issues and cholestrol, pulse was fast (really) and pressure was up but not as high on lower reading as xmas so guess thats reassuring. He has taken bloods and checking all my level so will get them friday so be sure i will let u all know the results.
He was so shocked by side effects but told me the governments has not put it on its pbs scheme so obviously they are not too sure about it (great huh).
He hopes the pulse rates and blood pressure will drop but said was not sure if this had done permanent damage but from what i can gather most women return to normal levels after a while (am i right). Just finished my period and have no appetite whatsoever and its been 7 days now and am struggling to eat , i noticed Chrissy said something about this , did this settle post yasmin remember only 2mths off for me.
ok any advice will help
Hugs
Lisa

I started to realize lately that I am constantly anxious. I worry about everything, and have begun not being able to sleep because of it. This is only my second cycle on yasmin, I started a little over a month and a half ago. I also have been completely unstable emotionally, and especially sensitive about self image issues. I don't know if this actually has to do with the yasmin, but before I was fairly self confident and now I always feel fat and ugly. Maybe I am just going through something, but it would be somewhat reassuring to know others experienced this as well. Thanks for any help. Hope everyone is having a wonderful holiday.

My son started taking depokote at the age of 11. We kept him on it for about 3 months and decided to take him off of it because he absolutely did not like how he felt on it. Tired all the time and just not himself. The seizures continued and I felt like I had to do something so we took him back to Childrens Mercy in Kansas City, Mo and the dr. put him back on it reassuring me it wasn't the medicine that was making him feel this way. He has been on the extended release med since June of 2005 and he is in his first year of high school and he is failing all but 2 classes. He and I both told the dr that he is having trouble concentrating but the dr chose to ignore my remarks. Now the first semester of his first year in high school is over and I don't think he has passed most of his classes because of this drug. I have since then contacted the hosp and I am changing dr's and we are getting him off the drug. No they tell me that you can not go off of depokote cold turkey. It is going to take 6 wks to take my son off of it and change to something else.

Oh, yes. Most important...
I forgot to mention the strange shortness of breath that comes on, unlike the kind I had before the pacemaker. Pressure on my chest, like I can't get enough air, almost like an asthema or anxiety attack. It's very reassuring to read so many have it with this drug!!!

I have been on Yasmin for one week and it has been horrible. I have been nauseous everyday, but not actually throwing up, which is almost worse b/c you just don't get any relief. I have quite literally not felt like myself- emotional, moody, dis-interested, un-motivated. I am not at all prone to depression or mood swings so it's been a very pronounced change. I am defintely going to stop taking it as I have never had such unpleasant side effects from a pill before. Usually they have been more physical, but the side effects for me from this pill have been physical and psychological. Reassuring to know that I'm not the only one to have this kind of adverse reaction.
