I know there are times when people need medication to help them with depression, anxiety, etc. but I really think there are better anti depressants out there. I found effexor HORRIBLE! it was a b**** to get used to, and i was so dizzy, tired, anxious and just felt horrible for a while.
After my body got used to it, it was alright, but trying to get OFF effexor was even worse! i have never experienced anythign like that. I felt SO depressed and anxious and DIZZY and this carried on for about two weeks. I felt trapped. I even took some work off while getting off it because I couldnt' function properly at all. Also, my sex drive went down to zero. I'd defintely reccommend trying out a different anti-depressant than this one.

Flow max was prescribed to assist my flow after hemmarhoid surgery, I have painful sinus problems ,blurred vision , ensomnia, and this constant ringing and roaring in my ears. This drug and its side effects outweigh the small increase flow.Iwil go back to saw palmetto and cranberry juice. I would not reccommend this drug for my worst enemy!!!!!!! ED --Chattanooga, Tn.

A decrease/change in vaginal lubrication is a change with oral-contraceptives. See a couple of entries below your entry on side effects of Yasmin. Many women have complained of loss of libido on Yasmin. Given how many other problems women here and on the new site in the UK have experienced, I cannot reccommend Yasmin or its sister pill Yaz at all as they have created very serious problems for many women including myself. I personally would recommend getting off it and finding a more traditional pill, or off the hormones altogether if you can and practice a more natural/non-hormonal method.
Yasmin generally helps women with acne which it did with me so you are experiencing sounds unusual. Another reason on top of many others to get off of it.
Look 2-3 entries below your entry and read the insert that comes with Yasmin-if you are experiencing chills and fever like symptoms-you should contact your Doctor immediately. This is not normal. Many women have had this happen actually-Yasmin and Yaz have some terrible life threatening and very serious health effects.
So, I'd say get off of it. Check the U.K site Flowerbabies set up. you'll see what kinds of problems Yasmin is creating.
I have been on Yasmin for a little less then a month. Since I have been on it my husband and I haven't not had sex, not once!! Before Yasmin we had a great sex life and now it's like, what's sex?? I have pimples the size of dimes that are nasty and I break out all the time. I gained probably about five pounds in less then a month. I get cold chills and fever-like symptoms and I really hate it so far. My husband just hates that we never have sex anymore. Is loss of sex drive one of the symptoms? I was reading about it and I guess my other ones are normal, but I read nothing about loss of sex drive. I'm 20 and a newly wed...I should want i should want to do it every day!!

I did go from 2.5 years of Yasmin, to one month of Yaz to the last 3 months of Orthocept and did NOT experience all the terrible anxiety and such alof of poor other women did. So, in my case, I'd reccommend it. I'm only now completely off for this last month and so far so good so it could be very helpful but as you know, each woman's body is different. you could give it a try...
I wish you well and please ignore all these terrible personlized/emotional responses from other women. We are all trying to help one another and in the midst of so much suffering it really is quite embarrassing.

I have been on Toprol for about a month now. I started off on 25mg twice a day. After I had severe palpatations and very slow heart rate (which resulted in a trip to the ER) i called my doctor and he cut me back to one 25mg tablet a day. I still have weird palpatations in which i feel as though my heart gets startled and i believe i can feel the blood drain from my head and out my arms. not fun.
I have also recently developed a cough around bed time as well as a weird tingly feeling throughout my body and slight insomnia. I called my doctor today and he told me I could stop taking Toprol. He did not reccommend that I ween off, simply saying I should just stop taking it as of today.

I started taking toprol after my doctor reccommend it for my fast pulse rate and high blood pressure. Originally went to the doctor for problems caused by a nervous system exhaustion. and realised that my pressure was very high 155/98 anyways to make a long story short after taking the lowest dose 25mg for 2 days I started to feel like i was losing control of my mental state of mind, my mood changed to very dull state. like i was just a zombie inside a body - this medication has a bad effect on the brain , it did get my pressure down fast. but the effects on my mood and mental stability wasnt worth it stopped after 3 days. i am wondering how many people who have been taking this medication for years who are now suffering from depression and cant make the connection.

My daughter began having double vision. This was not posted on the side effects from the pharmacy but when searching on line, several cases mentioned this. I would not reccommend it.

my 20 month old daughter just started on omnicef anti. and so far she hasn't had any reaction to it and i think that she is doing fine and that i will still continue giving her it and in the future to if she needs it. like she does now cause of having an ear infection and bronchitis. but i do advise to getting checked to see if your child is allergic to the antibiotic or something that is in it that they are allergic too. but i do want you all to know that i would reccommend this antibiotic if your child has bronchitis or ear infections.

Hello All,
I started Yasmin three months ago when my husband and I moved to Italy and boy has it been awful! You don't have to go to a doctor to get a prescription for many drugs, so I went to a pharmacy and asked one of the pharmacists what she would reccommend since a drug comparable to what I have been taking for the last ten years, Ortho Tricyclin, is not available here. She gave me Yasmin.
I have a heart condition and have always had heart palpatations, but never like this. Yesterday I bent over to pick up a book and thought I was having a heart attack. It was awful. About two months into taking the pill, I was doing a pilates video that I have done dozens of times before with no problems and fifteen minutes into it I had to sit down because I could barely breathe and my heart was beating so hard. Most every day I find myself thinking about breathing, having to purposfully take very deep breaths to make sure that I am actually getting oxygen.
Also, I have been experiencing major mood swings, depression and anxiety. I thought that it was due to the new enviroment, but now I am not so sure. This was the first month that I did not have at least one day where I was a total bitch. Anything anyone said pissed me off. I feel sorry for all of the folks that have been around me that past few months! Especially my wonderful husband who is always so supportive.
I can also mention headaches, massive neck and back tension, lower back pain, lethargy and insomnia.
I have four pills left in this pack and I am not so sure that I want to take them. I am glad that I was referred to an English speaking gyno here. I'll be seeing her soon.
I wish you all good health.
Bright Blessings.
Brandie

I have been taking ovcon 35 for about 5 months. The first 2 months were akward of course cause this is my first time ever being on birth control. Things were uncomfterable. Ive gotten my period on time every month and they are shorter. Only 3-5 days at most. The bleeding has slowed down and so has the cramps. But really the cramps havnt gone away. When im not on your period i get severe abdominal pain and my ovaires are constantly pounding. The first 3 months i still got nausa and discomfort. Now that im on my 5th pack ive noticed ive gained 8 pounds. 8 pounds of fat straight to my butt and boobs. My cup size went from a 32 B to a 34 C and my pant size changed from a 1-2 to a 3-4. I dont know if this is suposed to be the symptoms of this pill but i am sure within the next month or so im changing pills. It has made me change eating habbits and my body is very weak. I used to be toned and in shape and now i have lost intrest in everything. I am finding my self to be lazy and basicly a couch potato. I read that the other women have experienced wonderful results. I hope my personal experience hasnt brought any negitive thoughts about getting on the pill. It is great for someone who needs pregnancy protection and regularity of there menstrual cycle besides that i wouldnt reccommend this to anyone.

After taking the last of my 14 doses of Levaquin (500 mg) 5 days ago, I still feel intense waves of dizziness and nausea. The headaches come and go, and the full-body itching is beginning to fade. Notice I say "beginning."
During my 14-day course of Levaquin, I also experienced an inability to concentrate, and a sensitivity to both light and sound. Thankfully, my ability to sleep has come back.
I reccommend that anyone prescribed with this drug consult their physician as to whether there is a viable alternative, because (although not everyone experiences them), the side effects can be long-lasting and debilitating at times.

Anger control and Neurontin:
This is certainly synchronistic -- having a personal reference in this forum, just when I have discovered an exciting new resource for us takers of Neurontin!
As a certified counselor, as well as a userid of Neurontin (for fybromyalgia) I am always interested in the biological sources of psycho-mental states, and a new -- to my bookshelf -- book titled "Change Your Brain, Change YOur Life" answers a lot of the questions I have personally, and ones seen here.
Written by an MD Psychiatrist named Danel G. Amen, the subtitle is "Breakthrough Program for Conquering Anxiety, Depression, Obsessiveness, Anger and Impulsiveness" and details his research and clinical practice with using SPECT brain studies (nuclear medicine pictures of activity in, and damage to, the brain) for people with the above named problems, as well as AHAD and ADD (the schoolteachers' bane.)
The pertinent point here (and this was an amazing piece of information for me) is that Neurontin has been used successfully in helping people who have problems that therapy alone doesn't touch! This book explains for me the chages in my own mental state, and in others, like spouse (who takes Zoloft for obsessiveness/compulsion, and a mild case of Tourette's and anger).
So I apologize to "Guest" for my previous uninformed speculations about anger control -- I was wrong -- and reccommend this book for ALL Neurontin userids who are interested in the drug's physical effects on mental states, for self and others. We could probably reccommend the book to our treatment doctors, too, and do the community of sufferers a world of good.
Jan S. Kauffman, Certified Counselor, Elementary grades teacher, philosopher/historian of science, and Nurontin userid.

To Spider 256: Numb face sounds like a side-effect of the
herniated disks...is there some other drug besides Neurontin
that can be used for the bi-polar problem? My handy book (which I heartily reccommend) "Change Your Brain Change Your Life" by D. G. Amen, says that Neurontin has the smallest number of side-effects, and seems to be used most often for emotion management and pain reduction.
"Stenosis" means pinching-off, right? If a nerve is pinched in the cervical area, this would say to me it's probably involved in the facial numbness you experienced.
Have you talked to your doctor about this? Whatever, the Neurontin probably doesn't cause it, but you do have a serious problem, and the prescribing doctor neds to know. JanK

I was on Yasmin for 4 months. I HATED IT!!! What is the point of being on birth contraol if you never are able to have sex? I was constantly bleeding after the 1st month. It was as if I had my period for 3 striaght months - every single day. And not just spotting, heavy flow. I was depressed, miserable and in so much pain. I had constant cramps and back pain. I went to the ER 2 times because of this and I was told the 1st time that it was just my body's way of getting used to a different pill. After I was on it for 3 months, I went to the ER a second time because I was in so much pain and bleeding so heavily, that I could not get out of bed. I actually had to wear Depends, pads were not nearly enough! The dr at the ER the 2nd time told me that he has had a ton of cases with girls on Yasmin with the same problem and to stop taking it immediatly. About 3 or 4 days after I stopped taking it, everything was back to normal - Thank God! I was extremely hesitant to try another pill after that, but I decided to give Ortho Tri Cyclin Lo a chance and I love it. No random bleeding, no cramps and my periods are always light. Yasmin should be taken off of the market. I have a bunch of friends who tried it and went through the same problems I did.
