I would like to stop taking paxil, I have been on it for 3 yrs. When I skip my medicine I get what feels like electrical shocks in my neck & head. I wasnt sure if I had a pinched nerve at 1st but began to associate this with the event that I had not taken my meds. I also have onset of panic attacks & rapid heart, & terrible terrible forgetfulness, as to even what cabinet I would like to open, I open the wrong one, go into the wrong doorway, wrong driveway. I am very concerned. I have told my Dr. that I would like to get off this Paxil but Ive been told that it would be best since I was suffering from anxiety attacks in past. I would like to be committed to be able to handle the withdrawls. If anyone has been successful in stopping Paxil and now feels pretty back to normal, please let me know. Thanks

I am 26 yrs old and I have been on Nuvaring for about 3-3 1/2 years. I thought this was the greatest thing not having to remember the pill and the short light periods. I have always sworn by this BC! I have been having side effects I never thought came from the ring until now. I have read a lot of the side effects others are having and I think my lack of sexual desire for the past 1 1/2 yrs. MAY be due to Nuvaring and not my getting married 2 yrs. ago. (lol) I also have headaches often, not bad ones but enough to carry Tylenol in my purse. And another is dryness before intercourse, that I never had a problem with 2 yrs. ago. I never put two and two together until I racked my brain and wondered why I struggled so badly with my lack of sexual desire. I could care less if I have sex or not! That just wasn't me 2 yrs ago! I just couldn't figure out what had changed, going back on any medicines I had taken the past 2 yrs., the Nuvaring is the only thing that was constant. I have a Dr. Appt today and I am going to discontinue use of the ring and see if the side effects subside like they have for some others. I will post again when I have an update. Please let me know if anyone else is having the side effects more than a year after using the Nuvaring!! Thanks!

I have been prescribed zoloft 25mg and have yet to take it. I experience panic in stores, blurred vision, and can not seem to want to drive anymore by myself. I am 30 ys old and scared of the side effeects of ZOloft. Someone reccommended to just try Xanax, butI hear that is addicting...Any help would be great.

My 27 month old son took Omnicef for 8 days for an ear infection. Good news: the infection cleared up...Bad news: He has welts all over his abdomen, as well as some on his ears, head, and legs. We returned to the doctor, and he said that it looked like an allergic reaction, but did not seem to tie it to the Omnicef. We went ahead and stopped administering it anyway. He reccommended Benydryl. Today I talked to the pharmacist, and she reccommended a Cortaid spray, that would help heal from the outside while the Benedryl helped with the reaction. After reading this site, I am worried that this could go on for weeks.

I am in my 4th month of taking Yasmin. It was reccommended from a girl that I know at work and also my boyfriend's sister takes it. I have heard lots of good things about it. I started having anxiety problems, hot flashes, headaches, and I even tried to wear my new contacts, but I can't...it's like my eyes rejected them or something, and this is a side effect listed in the information packet that comes with a new package of Yasmin...about 2 months ago. I was taking Nexium for the first 2 months while on the pill and I assumed that it was the combination of both. Well, I started feeling better with my indegestion and stopped taking the Nexium. My hot flashes went down by half. (I would normally have about 3 or 4 a day.) Now, it's about 1 or 2 day, or every other day. After stopping the Nexium, I started getting antsy, depressed, crying at the drop of a hat, crying because I lost a dern poker hand with my boyfrend, anything and everything made me upset. I haven't experienced that for about 2 weeks now. Now, in the 4th month of taking Yasmin, my breast have become tender...very tender. Even my nipples hurt. I have this pulling sensation in my abdomen. I don't know whether I'm pregnant or what. I've never been before, so I don't know what I should feel like. I also have Fybroid Cysts Disease. I've experienced that for about 5 years now, but I haven't had any problems with new ones for about a year or so. Anyway, I was reading the other ladies' postings and I'm wondering if my side effects are from this pill. I'll probably go to the doctor next week if my breasts are still tender and if I have this pulling sensation in my abdomen. I will post again and give an update on what the doctor about all of the above and y'all's postings, too. Thanks and I hope everyone gets back to normal! -Melissa

Hi. I've been on Yasmin for about 6 months now. I was placed on it to help with the nasty side-effects of PCOS. A blessing it has been for my acne and those icky little chin hairs that I was starting to get because of the PCOS.
But I was extremely hessitant to be on a pill again after taking a 8 + year break from them. I can't tolerate all the extra hormones very well and my husband told me that if I'd ever go back on them, he'd rather live in Antartica than with me, because I had a tendency to become a SUPER EMOTIONAL B*$@# while I was one them. (Back then I tried every brand out there to try and supress my ovairan cysts but with no luck) Finally I choose to go off the pills on my own and felt great!!!
Because I have PCOS I don't ovulate regularly and both of my sons were concieved with the help of Clomind. But since I hadn't had a "real" period in over 2 years after my second son was born, I went to a reproductive endocronologist who reccommended Yasmin. Ok, I reluctantly went on it. My periods have never been heavier or with more cramps in my entire life. (Not to be gross, but a super-plus tampon and a night-time maxi pad aren't usually enough protection.) And having a period that lasts 7-9 days every month is shocking for someone like me who normally doesn't have that many days of a period in an entire year.
Yasmin was great at first, cleared up my skin, I even lost 10 pounds. But I've really noticed in the last few months my anxiety level has climbed to an all-time high! I can't sleep, I'm anxious all the time (now I'm on Xanax to "help on those days when I need it most".) Well, I took a 1/2 pill the other day and won't be taking any more of those....I felt so out-of-sorts and ugh! It just wasn't a good thing! After reading these posts, I'm beginning to think it might be the Yasmin.
I've had terrible headaches - worse than any migraine I've ever suffered through. I'm grouchy with my sons, who really are the best behaving kids I've ever met for their ages (and while I may be a bit prejuiced, I have taught their age groups for many many years). My sex drive has hit an all time low and now I've developed some weird rash on my neck, chest and arms.
I'm fair skined and always use sunblock, but I went to the beach last weekend...broke out with the rash on my neck and chest...I even went to the doctor for it. No explainantion was given. I went outside yesterday in the sun again...rash got worse on my neck and chest and is now on my arms. I've never had anything like this before, but I have noticed my skin and my hair is much drier since I've been on Yasmin.
Has anyone else had this kind of reaction from being on this when they were in the sun?
Thanks for reading this. In the morning I'm making an appt. with my OBGYN and seeing if I can try something else - after reading your posts I don't think I want to be on this stuff any longer!
take care!

I have not been able to find the strings. Initially my doc had cut them to short where they were causing my husband pain during intercourse. She said they would soften up and it would get better. Last week when we finished, I had horrible cramping, almost like contractions. This only went on for 30 minutes but it was pretty bad. I called and made an appt for tomorrow. Hopefully they will just take it out. I have the lower belly bloating too! and gained nearly 15 pounds in the first month alone. I have factor V which is why my doc recommended Mirena, however I am now reading it isnt recommended for people with blood clotting issues. I really just want it out!
