Recomend symptoms and conditions

I went on NuvaRing because it was suggested by my dr and mom who was an rn. I though nothing of it. I noticed a week before my wedding i was more tired then usal and moddy. The night before my wedding i thought i couldnt sleep because of excitement but no i was so tired that i fell right a sleep. The day of the wedding i was really moody i thought everything was going wrong and every little thing made me cry. The night of the wedding was terrible because i was really tired and i didnt want to do anything. no sexual drive. But after a fight with my new husband i gave in and did what anyone did on the wedding night. On the honey moon i was really moody, pernoid, tired, felt mersible, and i didnt want to have sex at all with my husband whom i love. my husband knew something was up. but we couldnt figure it out. when i was off it for my period i felt calmer and happier but as soon as i got back on it my husband and i would fight over the stupidest things, things that usaly didnt bother me. we hardly had sex and it hurt him. my roomates even noticed that i was acting different. then a couple days ago i noticed tenderness in my breast, dizzness falling over once in a while, and not wanting to talk , i wanted to be alone, and i was talking about an anulment for our marriege. I thought i was just getting a cold because i felt really sick.. but then when i woke up this morning and i could not feel my husband kiss my neck, pinch my neck or arm, i felt numb all over and my husband was getting worried we looked up the side affects and we both noticed right away this is what was happening. we took it out right away and im feeling much better. other then feeling irritated at my dr for not telling me the side effects.
I would not recomend this to anyone.

I have had a bad reaction with Femcon FE I have had my period two weeks into the first pack and my period is still here for almost 4 weeks now I called my dr and they said just to take 2 pills everyday. My period is worse and cramps are bad about a half hour I started taking the pills even just one I get nausea I do not recomend this pill sorry if my spelling is wrong I am on pain medicine. Percocet 10-650 for the pain. Bad choice and if I stop now then I will have my period longer don't know what to do anymore.

I JUST started Loestrin 24 Fe (day one) and have been reading many articles and websites (anything from the literature in the research journals to the Mayo Clinic posts). I have just read through this entire site and took in all the feedback from the women who have shared the side effects. I have NEVER taken BC until now. I am trying it to keep monthly bleeding and mood swings to a minimum. BUT, I see some serious side effects (depression, acne, weight gain) - these seem worse than just dealing with the monthly symptoms and taking some pain relievers.

Should I STOP? Any advice from veteran birth control users?

i was prescribed the reglan injections when i was expecting my baby bec i had severe vomiting and nausia. I was on it for about 3 months. It did not help! but the dr insisted that i continue taking it. I ended up giving birth to a child with NON genetic disablilities: Severe club foot, extremely weak muscles, dislocated hips and knees. Besides all that he has issues with his brain.. cannot TALK and probably never will. I strongly belive it was from the Reglan!!! DO NOT RECOMEND TO PREGNANT WOMEN!!! I would rather have vomited and had the nausia. the poor child is suffering so much!!! not worth it at all!

My Mother was diagnosed with Rheumatoid arthritis 30 years ago. She has been on prednisone at low doses since then. About 3 years ago she started imagining things, and hallusinations. About 2 years ago her prednisone dose went up to 60mg a day due to a stroke of the optic eye nerve. She has since been tapering down, now at 15mg a day. But tapering down makes her arthritis more painful. She has developed diabetes, loss of sleep, loss of apetite, loss of muscle tone. When she gets bumped, it's a big opened gash, rather than just a bruise. With the higher dose she was more moody & would get angry easier. The hallucinations & paranoia continue & are making me more & more concerned. I haven't read about this in any of the stories. Has anyone else experienced this side effect? I spoke with her Rheumatologist who suggest a psychiatrist to prescribe anti-psychotic drugs. She's already on 11 pills a day, does she need another?
Please let me know if anyone has experienced this as well.

I decided to get Mirena after the birth of my second son. I seemed like such a great idea. I had it put in last Sept. My doctor is very good and warned me about some things that might happen after it was inserted. What I didn't expect was just how bad I bled after getting it. I know it sounds like I'm exaggerating, but there was a point where I was running to the bathroom every 15 minutes to change. It was horrible, but my doctor assured me that everything was normal and I should see some improvement within the next few months. Including the heavy bleading, I bled for about a month and a half straight. About a month of that was the annoying spotting. Since then, I haven't had a period, which I love...the only thing I love about it. The past year has been rough, but I never associated it with Mirena until now. I was starting to lose my baby weight but now I weigh about 5 lbs more than I did just after giving birth. My stomach looks bigger than my sister's and she's almost 7 months pregnant. I was put on anti depressants, but associated that with post partum depression...now I'm not sure what caused it. My husband and I have been fighting more and we even considered spitting up. I'm just not ME and he has even said it. I have acne like a teenager, weight gain (no matter what I do), very low sex drive, BLOATING, cramps, my memory is pretty much non existent, nausea, horrible sleep pattern which causes extreme tiredness all the time, sore body, constant discharge, and blurred vision. I've actually taken pregnancy tests because I felt worse than when I was pregnant. I've talked to my husband about the Mirena and wanting to get it out, but he's just worried that I'll get pregnant again if I get it out. He doesn't realize how bad I really feel cuz I'm not telling him. We decided that our marriage is worth saving so I'm trying to do my part by not getting mad at him for every little thing and not complaining about how awful I feel. He just started a new job, too, so insurance hasn't started at the new place and his old place of employment has already stopped it through them. I can't pay for a regular doctor's visit without insurance, so I guess I'm stuck with it for now. Sorry for babbling, I just don't have anyone to talk to, so once I start, I just keep going.

I took the medicine only 3 doeses and started uncontrollably shaking,my mind was racing and i couldnt controll any of the shaking.I felt like I was having a panic atttack from this medicine,&I WOULD NOT RECOMEND THIS MEDICINE TO ANYONE!!!!!

The Mirena was inserted in June 2004. All was good until last Summer. I started to put on weight, I went from a size 8 to a size 12. so I exercised even more and reduced my intake of carbs and fat. In fact I changed my diet, more veg and fruit. I have always had a great metabolism, but I have none at all. I thought it was a tyroid problem, but doing some research, where I seem to have the same symptoms that I had with the Depo, it made sense. Thus I am having it removed in August after my honeymoon. Unfortunately this all happened whilst getting married, so not happy. I would rather put up with periods, then be the fat person I have become. My husband had the snip, so birth control is not a worry. I know it is different for each person, we are all different afterall.. Good luck to all

I don't think my last post went through...my 22 mo old was given omnicef for pneumonia 2 days ago - the very first night he woke up screaming like crazy, lasted off an on for an hour or so, maybe more. He is NOT a sleep terror toddler and never has had sleep problems. The next day he did the same thing when waking up from his nap, the screaming and crankiness lasted about 30-45 min. It is now 2am and he's been doing it off and on for an hour again. My husband is with him and I am reading every one else's posts with the same effects on their kids. I just went over the omnicef website with a fine tooth comb - NOTHING on this side effect - it's rediculous. This is found on the internet by too many people making these middle of the night posts - i'd probably recomend they put a little more money into research and figure out what in the world is going on and why so many people are having the same experience. I'll be calling my doctor in the morning! He has also been really crabby since starting it - he'll just scream and 'freak out' at the drop of a hat - kind of like terrible 2's X 10 - and he was not previously like that either.

I have been taking Desogen for about 2 months now and I know there has got to be an easier way for my body to ajust to a pill. I am constantly hungry (even after I had just stuffed my face), tired, spotting, acne, bitchy, & I have constant headache's. I feel as if I am pregnant. But I know I am not. This is a horrible Pill and as of today I am no longer taking it. So I recomend if you are on it and are looking up on it end it as soon as possible.<3

i was on predisone twice within the last six months because of a flare with chrons disease. i got really sick and was put on 40mg of prednisone twice a day. it made me feel much better, but the side effects sucked.

i had extreme moodiness and overreact to everything. i found myself constantly crying over nothing and got depressed very easily. i had alot of trouble sleeping, got really bad leg cramps. my appitite was insane. im constantly hungry and just feel like i need to eat and eat. i gained 15 pounds both times i was on it. my face gets so puffy. the fat that i gained is in my stomach and a weird texture. i also gained weight in my legs and have strech marks at the top. it took me about 3 months to get back to my normal weight. and then i got sick again and am currently dealing with it all again.

i hate predisone and to anyone going on it i recomend caring ALOT about what you eat because gaining that much weight sucks. also drink alot of water.

drinking water after you go off prednisone is supposed to drain your system of it and make the side effects go away quicker.

Both my wife and I were prescribed Vi-Q-Tuss. It stopped the cough when we both took it the first morning. I had no noticable side effects, my wife said she was nauseas and dizzy. We both took it before going to bed, and both of us woke with nausea, dizziness, headache, and sweating that lasted most of the morning. We're not going to take this anymore, I would rather choke with the cough. Instead I took, and recomend, Fishermans Friend cough drops to help with the cough..... if you can stand the taste.

I hate Kenalog and would never recomend it to anyone.There has to be a safer alternative.I had on shot of this stuff and it really messed me up.I had severe muscle cramps shortly after the shot,I could barely get out of bed or move.I have had a never ending period,severe mood swings,cystic acne,paranoia,stomach pain,headaches,I can't sleep,weakness,and I have a huge discolered dent in my butt.STAY AWAY FROM KENALOG!!!!

I have had many different reactions from this drug. I was given the prescription for osteomylitis from a compound toe fracture. I had 2 infection strains and after the Augmentin only cured one strain, this drug was a last resort to kill the other strain. It works, but I am getting boils in the genital areas, having abdominal cramps, extreme joint pain and weakness even after 2 weeks of being cured. My alimentary canal will be in pain much like mild cholitis for months but the toe appears to be saved, and that is definitely a miracle in itself. I am a 7 day a week exerciser, and my life has been altered emotionally and physically after taking this nasty drug. I recomend not using this for any reason.

I was diagnosed with Crohn's Disease over thirty-one years ago. I have taken Predisone many times over the period of my illness. My Crohn's Disease has been very aggressive and I have lost all but 250 cm of my bowel. Prednisone has been the only drug that has been able to help but at great cost to me. I am now disabled from the disease and the side effects of the drug. The most devestating side effect is the weight gain. I am now 80lbs heavier than when I was diagnosed. The moon face is very difficult to deal with. Everyone says they know it's from the meds but that doesn't help when I look in the mirror. The fat deposits in my abdomen are very embrassing to me as well.
The sweats, blurred vision, nervousness, hyperactivity, exhaustion, acne, slepplessness, shaking, joint pain (so bad I can hardly walk when I am on the meds), mood swings, depression, swelling (water retention so bad I can hardly bend my legs), the muscle wasting in my thighs, the conective tissue damage making it hard to heal from surgery, difficulty concentrating, bone weakness ( I break ribs very easily) and so many more...all this is too much to pay to control a disease.
They really need to find better drugs now. If you can try something else instead of Prenisone I strongly recomend that you do. It should always be a last resort.

I was prescribed Geodon for schizpophrenia and it has had little impact on the illness. I was told to take it three times a day, 20mg capsules. At 60mg I experience somewhat strange physiological changes, like severe weakness, dizziness, and an increase in visual and auditory hallucinations. Orthostatic Hypotension is one of the major contraindications of the medicine which I have experienced. My use of the drug has been no more than 15 days and I have not finished the bottle. I could be highly sensitive to drugs which would mean having to increase the dose slightly over longer period of time. In my experience with many of these drugs I have had few positive results with mostly negative side effects that have only served to limit my physical and mental powers. I would recomend that anyone considering the use of typical or atypical antipsychotics should reconsider and look into other options. Especially when prescribed for youth or children under the age of 10 years. The permanent changes that could occur are not positive in terms of mental development, and also the possibilty of developing Tardive Dyskinesia a serious neorological abnormality that can last for the rest of one's life. My experience has ended with Geodon because I derived little benefit from its use. I would not recomend others use of the drug.

After 17 months on hydrochlorothiazide for blood pressure, I experienced a bright red itchy rash on sun-exposed areas ( primarily face and neck). It was diagnosed as solar urticaria (allergy to sunlight) and was successfully treated. However, after 24 months now on it, I have bright redness on my face and neck again (unpleasant but not particularly itchy) with really mild nausea. The doctor tells me it could be a side effect of the drug. I am now on another blood pressure pill, but it has been four days since I took the hydro. and the redness has not gone away.

I'm a 36 y/o female battling the side effects from Kenalog. I developed Cushing Syndrom (moon face, hump on back, easily brusing). I had my 1st shot in Dec 05 and 2nd Jan 06. I bleed heavily for three months straght. I still have the moon face and this horrible hump on my back. I ended up having to get a hysorectomy. I plan on getting a lawyer, but the Doctors I spoke with never heard of these effects with a shot. The more support I have the better chance I have. I'm constantly depressed looking this fat. Plus I gain 20 lbs in 1 month. This drug sux and I would never recomend it to anyone.

I have suffered TERRIBLY from this horrible drug, the most prominent side effect has been the unabated weight gain,which got WORSE after going off this HORRIBLE pill(my opinion!). Also, I have been working with a MEDICAL INTUITIVE for 3 weeks now. I worked with her for 6 months over the phone, to stem the tide of a chronic ailment and she was incredibly helpful. If anyone is interested in an ALTERNATIVE approach to breaking the cycle of this drug, I HIGHLY recomend working with someone like this. Oprah often has Carolyn Myss, a medical intuitive, on her show. I'd be happy to share this info as well. I have seen significant changes in my overall outlook(which this drug PRAYS on - having a negative, depressive attitude), and the way my body feels. We are now working on the weight gain piece of the puzzle, which will come as my hormones are more in balance. I only took YASMIN for 5 month and experienced bloating and weight gain by month 2(along with the persistent migraines and leg cramps), but the weight continued to SPIKE once going off. I have been off 4 months next week and am doing my best to keep a positive attitude, which I KNOW is very hard to do when you look and feel like someone else is in your body and your clothes don't fit, etc., etc.

I feel your pain; no question.

i started on citilopram 4 weeks ago, and mentally im a changed man, i had depression and panic attacks and now i couldnt be depressed if i tried to which sounds great but its a liitle strange as i sometimes feel i am missing part of my emotional spectrum, like normal people feel down sometimes and i should still be allowed to feel down every now and then but these tablets wont let you.! physicclay tho i have had a few strange side efects, in the first week i felt shaky and detached and had blurred vision and actually felt a little high (which was nice) but by week 2 i fellt fairly normal and now only get the side effects when i forget to take a tablet otherwise i remain on a plateau. I also smoke pot and often became paraniod after smoking, the best thing is now i can smoke pot to my hearts content and get the high but none of the paranoia and that is fantastic. if your a pot smoking paranoid ~I highly recomend taking 20mg citalopram has anyone else ever experienced this???

Im half-way through my second pack of Yasmin and have all the above mentionend side effects. Mostly extreme emotions, crying, depression, constant hunger etc.
I know I have to come off Yasmin but have been on Dianette previously and had similar side effects.
I have PCO's - can anyone recomend a pill suitable for me with little or no side-effects?

I was diagnosed with endo when I was 16. I'm now 24 and this is my second round of lupron. I HATE it. I have never been so miserable in my whole life. I would almost rather deal with the pain. and my pain didn't stop completely. I have a lot of scar tissue. So I still hurt and have all of the symptoms. I have hot flashes, constant headache, nausea, aching all over, I think every other symptom. I've missed so much work because I can't get myself out of bed in the morning. I'm so depressed, my husband can barely stand to be around me. I start crying over the stupidest things. I also find myself thinking suicidal thoughts. I feel terrible that I act this way. I have just a few days left of this. I would never, ever recomend this to anyone. It has almost destroyed my life.

I was injected with Kenalog 40 on Oct 4th 2004,i went to my doctor cause I thought my Kidneys were infected. Dr. tested my urine and came back negitve my Dr. told me that I may have a musle spasm in my lower back causing me extreme pain. He told me that he was going to inject me with an anti-inflamatory and I should feel better witin 2 hours. That day I went home to nap and felll asleep for 12 hours. Apx. 2-3 weeks after the injections, I noticed a quarter sized red, black and blue spot on the injection site. My minstrul cycle lasted for 4 weeks and i spot evey now and then till this day Nov. 24, 2004. I am also experencing extreem acne on my neck back and shoulders, I have caught a cold and have had it for 3-4 weeks and nothing is helping it go away, My hands have a rino hide texture and dicoloration all on them, I have had severe chest pain and 1 episode of a serious panic attack causeing me to black out and I could not breath.
I went back to the doctor who injected me on Nov. 19th 2004 to let him know of all the problems I am having and he acted like he never seen anything like what I was going thru before. His soultion was to recomend a gynocologist and a dermatologist to take care of my skin a minstal problems and told me that he could not do anything about the reaction I was having from the injection site. After my visit I decided to do a little investigation of my own and descovered that Kenalog 40 was never tested for musle spasms. I called the maufator of this drug and they said that the side effects I was experencing were never reported and I should have not been injected with this drug for my lower back spasms. I have called my doctor several times and he will not return my phone calls. I don't know what to do. I am 24 and am in good health other than the side effects of this drug. Anyone using this injection for musle spasms ? What should I do ? Nov 24th 2004.

I only took them for about 3 weeks, I had extrem short temper I have never hit my kids before but my son set me off and I hit him, I have been crying at night when I am laying in bed next to my husband because I cant sleep and cannot perform sex with him anymore, I have had super bad pain in my chest thought it was an anxiety attack but it has last for 3 weeks and the day that I got off the next day it wasnt as strong it felt like someone punched you in your chest as hard as the could and you couldnt breath and the pain just continues I been off of it for three days and still in alot of pain I also got a bad yeast infection witch caused my skin in the vaginal area to be raw and sensitive I didnt even want to go pee because it burned soooo much now I am spotting and have had bad head aches and I have gained 12 lbs in just 3 weeks I am so sad I tried to do something to help mine and my husbands sex life instead I destroyed it I would not recomend these pills to anyone

I was prescribed this drug for pain when I had a severe urinary tract infection. After taking one pill, I had a grand mal siezure. Up untill that time, I had been siezure free for over 5 years. I told the doctors that I have siezures and am on Depakote. I wouldn't recomend this drug for anyone with any history of siezure disorders.
