Rectal area symptoms and conditions

I just found out this morning that my Mirena is outside of my uterus. I had it put in on July 10th and had cramping on and off for about two weeks. After two weeks I had a strange pain and some discomfort in my rectal area that would come and go. I was almost to the point of going to see a doctor but then it went away a few days before my 6 week check up after getting the Mirena. My CNM (certified nurse midwife) couldn't see/feel the strings so she ordered an ultrasound which I had yesterday (almost two weeks after my 6 week check up). I told my midwife about the strange discomfort and she said maybe it was an internal hemorrhoid. The ultrasound confirmed that the Mirena was indeed not in my uterus so the midwife ordered an x-ray. She got the report this morning and called to tell me it is between my uterus and left hip and that is what has been causing my pain/discomfort. She has no idea how it got out. It is not an emergency because I don't have any bleeding but they are going to do laparoscopic surgery hopefully today or tomorrow because I want it out of there. I am worried about any damage it could be doing.

Flagyl has been used with Septra to treat a bacterial infection that resulted from an infected cyst in my rectal area. Below I've listed some of the horrific side effects I think are from this medication. I'm going to ask the surgeon tomorrow.

i think it is time for a public awareness effort about this drug. if you agree, please send your name, address and a summary of your experience to my email. i will organize a joint petition and send it to merck and the fda. many children are being harmed by this drug and parents are not aware.
