I had Implanon inserted on Feb. 08. I just had it removed about 1 month ago (Jun. 09). This was the WORST birth control experience i have EVER had. I gained over 60 lbs. over a year's time, I was eating less and working out normally, i still kept gaining weight. I would be on my period for months at at time, although i never had any cramps, i developed anemia. I was the worst person to be around, I was always irritated and had lots of trouble sleeping. Occasionally, I would have terrible muscle pains in both arms, felt like loss of circulation. I was always tired and very depressed. I hope anyone who is considering this birth control to reconsider other options. After i had it removed my body went haywire! My red blood cell counts spiked and developed shingles(I am only 22)! Not only that i had the MOST painful period of my life, cramps so bad i had to be put on pain meds! My body is finally getting back to normal, and I feel like a whole new person!!!!!

I've been on Wellbutrin for 3 years. My hair has been falling out more and more every month. My scalp itches horribly! It feels almost as though bugs are crawling all over it. I am irritable and have dramatic mood swings. The final straw, though, was recently when I had a blood test to find that my white and red blood cell counts had become dangerously low, and my red blood cells were swollen (macrocytic anemia).

I'm now training myself off of Wellbutrin. I tried dropping to a quarter dose and felt flu-like symptoms (chills, extreme tiredness, dizziness) and extraordinary appetite (gaining 10 lbs in week 1). I also became unable to handle simple tasks at work, and excessively negative in demeanor.

I'm now back up to 1 pill and the chills have stopped. I am hoping that I can go back down to 1/2 pill gradually.

Will my hair grow back? Is the liver/blood damage reversible? Has anyone kicked the Wellbutrin habit and recovered fully? Please help.

Thank you in advance.

I was prescribed sulfameth by a dermatologist to help dry out my oily skin as a teenager(15years ago). After a week of taking this medication orally, I noticed I had bruises that i could not remember any injury causing. At the time I had braces on my teeth, and one morning after noticing the bruises on my skin, i woke up and noticed blood blisters on the inside of my mouth and tongue! Sulfameth was the only medication i was taking at the time. I went to my dermatologist to get his opinion, after which he sent me immediately to the hospital. Turns out, I was on the verge of internally bleeding to death. I had to stay in the hospital for a week, where i was treated with a steroid to boost my red blood cell count because it was deathly low. Had i not noticed the bruises, and blood blisters in my mouth from the braces, I might not have known.

this is not necessarily a proven side effect but during the time period that I've taken Zestril, I've been diagnosed with refractory anemia. I started taken Zestril in the year 2000. I've had mild anemia for about that same time period. About a year ago, I started having shoulder pain, numb thighs, severe mid-lower back pain, distended stomach. Weight loss. Potassium level increased.
Red blood cell count dropped as low as 31. Diagnosed as refractory anemia. Unknown cause.
All tests were done to check for cancers. All negative.
Erthropoetin shots were used to push the red blood cell count back up again. After five shots, the count dropped. More shots. I stopped taking the lisinipril and my red blood cell count has stabilized. Blood pressure went up to 150. I'm back on lisinipril. Waiting to see what happens next.
Cough yes. Sleepy in the morning and late afternoon naps. Yes.
Anyone else experience anemia since beginning to take lisinopril?

my dad, who took orinase for a long time due to diabetes, believes it may have been the root cause for the destruction of his red blood cell production ability in the bone marrow, a blood disease which has now lead to leukemia
