I started to take femcon in November of last year and ever since then i have been through nothing but hell i have been sick and in a lot of pain most of the time i never wanna do anything when i take it last month i didn't take it and i felt sick a little bit but before i got my period i felt so much better i took only one pill this month so far and i fell really sick i don't want to do anything i yell at everyone and im never in a good mood like i was before i started it i was and i still am very depressed if anyone asked me about taking this pill i would say no cuz like i said every since then i have been through hell and i have been putting my family through nothing hell. my experience on femcon was nothing but hell even when i took the pill i felt sick even if i didn't take it. if you are or anyone you know taking femcon i would talk to them or if it is you i would stop taking it and ask your doctor to try something new because who knows what will happen next if you keep taking it. i mean i have red bumps i don't know if it from not taking it or what but i have not had sex in a year and tha last person i had sex with was a virgin and i have been checked for everything so i know im clean but i think its from not taking the pill. my lower back hurts all the time from not taking the pill but im happy to say im going to try something new and hopefully it works out for me =] and i hope the women out there taking this will understand NOT TO TAKE FEMCON. it messes up your life!

Severe FATIGUE... I cannot explain enough how fatigued I am while on Orthocept. I classify it as a mix of depression too. This is awful and yet my doctor keeps telling me to 'tough it out for another month'. I have lost 5lbs this month and am always sick to my stomach. I have the weirdest forehead and eyeball pain/headaches. My legs also broke out in an itchy rash during the end of the first week and the red bumps are still here. It is just awful, people. I feel like my whole body is falling apart. I'm only taking this because my periods are excruciating. I'd rather go through the pain for 2 to 3 days than all of this for months.

Like many others who have posted here, many symptoms have been present, but I failed to recognize that NuvaRing may be the cause. After another restless night, lying awake at 3 a.m. and considering seeking help for my increasingly unpredictable mood swings and depression, I had an epiphany, which led me here.
I’ve long suffered headaches, so I won’t pin that on NuvaRing, but I used to be one who rarely cried. I’ve felt absolutely crazy lately, both crying and being openly hostile to my husband. It’s a relief to think there may be a cause I can do something about. Now I can’t decide if I should remove it now and risk having my period while on vacation next week or leave it in and be miserable.
I’d finally been able to lose a few pounds, but only two months after beginning NuvaRing, it was all back, plus a few more. I hadn’t thought to connect it to the new birth control, as I’ve been on various pills since 1999.
Stomach problems are another issue I was already dealing with, but the possibility that they've been compounded by this birth control is frustrating.
Another symptom that I’m not sure is related: raised bumps on my upper arms and thighs, dry and slightly itchy. Has anyone else experienced skin-related symptoms with NR?
Many thanks to all who have shared their experiences.

Hi all! I just began taking YAZ two weeks ago and things were fine up until two days ago. I started experiencing itching on several parts of my boy an last night, realized I had hives on my waist at my back, near my underarms and have serious itching all over the rest of my body including the palms of my hands. Please, please, please if anyone reads this an has had similar side effects, please let me know. Furthermore, I did not take the pill last night as I knew this could be the only thing causing these issues. Does anyone know the reprecution of stopping the pill mid month? Please let me know and thanks for your help!

I'm on my 3rd cycle with NuvaRing. I've been on anti-depressants for years, so I can't tell any difference there, and some of the other side effects you've mentioned were present in some degree before the ring and attributable to other factors. Three issues: 1) The vaginal secretions and odor have definitely been bad! 2) The tissue I touch when inserting and removing the ring feels rough and bumpy - some of it could be scar tissue from biopsy, LEEP, and cystectomy but has anyone else had an allergic skin reaction to it? Especially so far inside? I never paid much attention so I can't tell if I'm imagining the change. 3) My boyfriend and I recently got back together and have been intimate twice. Tuesday is the first time we put the ring to the test by him not pulling out. Since then, he says he has had chafing, irritation, and some sort of rash on his penis. Does this sound familiar to anyone else?

I started taking Bactrim last Monday evening. When I started to have tightens in the chest and feeling very tired on Thursday evening, I didn't contribute it to the medicine. I went to bed and woke up at 2:30 am because of the chest discomfort. I didn't take my Thursday evening and Friday morning dosages because I felt yucky. By Friday morning, my chest was tight and under my left arm ached. I called my doctor's office and told the receptionist that my chest was hurting and I needed to come in on Monday and that I stopped taking Bactrim. Yes told me that I shouldn't have stopped. So I took another pill on Friday evening. I forgot to take one on Saturday morning because I didn't eat breakfast at home and I didn't take the medicine with me. Started retaking them on Saturday night. Within one to two hours of taking the pill, I started to itch. I still didn't know what was wrong. I finally went to bed and I woke up at 3:30 am itching like crazy. Now I noticed I had red bumps and splotches all over my body (legs, arms, back, stomach, chest, and etc). I have been itching since Saturday night and it is now Monday night. I went to the doctor today and I was told that I should stop taking Bactrim.
I will never take this again.

I am a 50 year old female and started taking 10 mg of Lisinopril about 2 months ago for HBP. I also take Lovastatin with no problems for about 2 years. Within a few weeks, I starting having the dry, hacking cough along with the tickle in the throat. I also starting itching over various parts of my body. I starting urinating a lot especially at night. Between the coughing and going to the bathroom, I was not getting much sleep. I was tired all the time and was not able to concentrate very well. A few weeks ago, I noticed my skin was getting little red spots. It finally dawned on me that all these symptoms occurred after I started taking the Lisinopril! I went online and found this site. I can't believe they would put a drug like this on the market! I quit taking the medicine about 4 days ago and my cough is starting to decrease, my itching is almost gone and I am not urinating as much. I have an appointment with my doctor in a few days and will tell him that I will NOT be taking this medicine anymore. I will find another way to decrease my blood pressure without medicine. SOMEBODY NEEDS TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS DRUG!!!!!

I quit taking Lisinopril after a splattering of red angenomas developed on my trunk and extremities.Within a week after stopping, I started to feel pressure and slight dull ache in my ear. Has this occurred with anyone else on this medicine. The ear doctor says the ears are fine and the dental xray showed no infection in upper or lower teeth. It has been almost 3 months and the condition is getting better.

As a teenager I had minor Acne and blackheads. Some red bumps in the back of my arms and my thighs, blackheads around my forehead and nose and one or two acne bumps around my chin that would go away and come back. Compared to many kids my age, I had great skin. The problem started the day my mother said I should start using beauty products. My aunt recommended Clinque (3 step regime). I was typed with t-zone skin and bought that package. I followed the advice of the counter assistant and after a day, red painful spots appeared in my skin. I went back and they said it was normal and to keep using it. I did and the red spot errupted to full sized cystic acne. I could feel the huge swells deep within my skin. I stopped using it right away, but it was too late. The damage was done. My skin was inflamed and sensitive and the condition of my skin just fed on itself. I went to the dermatologist and they told me to wash with Cetaphil and to be gentle with my skin. That relieved it a bit and over time (a long time) my skin calmed down. But it was too late. I had horrible acne scars and breakouts were more common than they were before I started.
Over the years I tried to find the cause of my break outs. Tried different products (with caution) and realized that a common ingredient (Salicylic Acid) caused my break outs. Well, almost all acne products contain this ingredient so I had to find other ways around Acne. I still have red blotches on my left arm where I tested a bit of a product on it. The inflamation is gone now but i'm left with scars. I still see acne products out there with Salicylic Acid in them. A couple of times when I change Doctor's, they would recommend me over the counter products that have Salicylic Acid in them. As you can tell, I no longer trust doctors advice.
I haven't found one article out there mentioning anyone having my symptoms when using Salicylic Acid.

I'm on my third day of Biaxin XL 500MG and I have small red bumps on my hands and the bottoms of my feet. They hurt like blisters. The back of my throat has tiny red dots all over. It doesn't sound like the same simptoms as everyone else.

Rash -
I have had a sinus infection since last November 2005. I had been prescribed Zithromax, Biaxin twice, Avelox, and then Omnicef in a 7-month period.
The Omnicef, a 21-day dose, was prescribed in July 2006. Two days after I finished taking the Omnicef I began to get a rash. At first I thought it was bug bites because they were on my legs, arms and back.
A week into it I realized these red bumps, that look like bug bites, were in fact more than a bug bite. I treated the bumps with Benadryl and Cortisone cream, the first week I had them, and instead of getting better the bumps were getting worse.
I happen to go to my doctor about day seven of the rash for a scheduled check-up. I asked my doctor about the rash. She seemed concerned and prescribed a Methylpred Pak. The rash began to subside about four days into the Methylpred. By the end of the Methylpred the rash was about 95% gone.
About three days after I completed The Methlpred the rash began to come back with a vengeance. I was actually worse that it was initially and was now spreading to my face. My doctor suggested I go to a dermatologist, which I did.
The dermatologist said that I was having an allergic reaction to the Omnicef and that it was not that uncommon. He prescribed Prednisone. I took the Prednisone for 10 days and again the rash began to get better, but two weeks after I began the Prednisone the rash still was not gone.
The dermatologist again gave me More Prednisone to take, but not as much as the first dose, to get rid of the rash. The rash almost went away with the exception of a couple of bumps. This was as of 9/15/06.
Today is 9/30/06 and as I write this, my back is once again covered in the rash. I am now starting to get it on my lags and arms again as well. Bah! I started taking a Methylpred Pak again this morning. This will make the third time since mid-April.
I remain hopeful that this terrible rash will clear up, as it is uncomfortable and cause for great distress.

My nine month old daughter was on Omnicef for one day and had red colored stools which we thought may be from the tylenol. She also broke out in a rash the second day (red bumps that looked like chicken pox) in a small area, so we watched it. The next day she had the bumps all over her trunk and head...they kept getting worse and multiplied until she was taken off of the medicine! They do worsen in the sunlight! We kept her in only a diaper for about four days and gave her an oatmeal bath and benadryl, and that helped. She also had night terrors where she would wake screaming and shaking which is very unlike her! She was taken off of the Omnicef by the Dr. and put on Zithromax which has been great!

My seven month old was prescribed omnicef for an ear infection. I'm went to this site because I thought that she had blood in her stool but apparently that is a common side effect? (what is that red color in her stool?) She also didn't eat or drink much for several days and got two red bumps on her arm. I thought that they were bug bites. I hope that they are....

After taking sulfmeth-trimeth to cure my UTI, on the 8th day. I woke up with a small patch of red bumps on my inner thigh that looked like mosquito bites!! I did not think much of it..But then later on that day when I went to the bath room. I realized it spread all over my thighs and part of my stomach and legs. Then thats when I really freaked out. I am usually not allergic to any medications. I discontinued the medication. And now till this day am taking Benadyrl.

After taking Guaifen for two days, I broke out in tiny red bumps on my arms, chest, and stomach. They don't itch, but they are unsightly.
This drug also affected my sleep. I found myself getting up in the middle of the night and unable to return to sleep.
FYI, I dropped this drug on the second daybecause of the side effects and the information from this website.

I decided to start taking Yasmin, hoping to help ease the severe pain I suffer each month from cramps. I have been on Yasmin for 3 weeks. Like alot of people, I am experiencing the "acne" side effect. My face has broken out in huge red bumps, especially around my chin. I am 27 years old and my face looks as though I am going through puberty again, it is very bad even with make-up on. I have also experienced the breast tenderness and lack of sex drive. My stomach feels bloated and gassy. I also have had problems with my stomach getting upset and cramping after I eat something, which then causes me to practically run to make to the bathroom in time. After visiting this forum and reading story after story about negative side effects, I can assure you I will not be taking Yasmin anymore. Isn't it amazing in the commercials you see on TV about Yasmin, you never hear any of these horror stories...wonder why?????

I found this website today and couldn't believe my eyes. Over the last month my daughter has been hospitalized twice, seen her OB, a gasterointerologist, had a CAT scan, vagina ultrasound, full blood work up and colonoscopy. No one found anything wrong with her. I never thought anything about the new pill she had been put on last month to better regulate her cycles. She has had severe abdominal cramping, breakthrough bleeding which we were told was normal till she got used to the new pill, nausea but still feels hungry, migraines, dizziness, blurred vision, 20 pound weight gain, acne which she never had before, red bumps which we thought was an allergic reaction to something and extreme fatigue. She had been feeling a bit better the last two weeks and we figured maybe she had had a bout of the flu. I dropped her off at college last Saturday and crossed my fingers. She called me today to tell me that it was starting again. I asked about her cycle thinking it might be PMS and she said that she had just started a new pack of pills. I did some searching and here was this website. I couldn't believe what I was reading. I immediately called the college infirmary and told her to stop taking Femcom immediately. I have forwarded this website to her so she can see that she wasn't crazy after all which was what all those doctors were starting to tell her. I wouldn't wish what my daughter went through this past month on anyone. DO NOT TAKE THIS DRUG!!!!!
