Ok so...I started taking Loestrin 24 almost a year ago and I can't really complain too much. I've had a few pregnancy scares because of missed periods but they were just that- missed periods. And there's nothing wrong missing a period or two imo :D
About two weeks ago I ran out and couldn't refill so I neglected to take any pills for a week, figuring I would just pick back up when I could. I've since started taking them regularly again but in those two weeks my personality changed sooo much. In an attempt to describe myself I'd say I was...confused and depressed, for no real reason. My stomach was so messed up I don't even want to share the details. And the strangest thing... I've noticed two VERY SMALL spots (one on my upper thigh and one on my butt) that are slightly red and drier than the skin around it. I'm positive it's not an STD but I'm concerned nonetheless.
In conclusion, I'm gonna take my pills regularly from now on.

But seriously if anyone else has gotten weird small spots of dry skin, plz respond cause it's definitely worrying me a little.

a few hours after i took levaquin, i went to BK and got a cheeseburger. i had just had a csection and was having a hard time recovering. i thought the pain i was having had something to do with the surgery but i started to realize it was the levaquin. it was like everything i tried to eat kind of got stuck going down. it hurt so badly i just stopped eating. i was so weak and my muscles were so weak. ias so weak that i had to concentrate really hard on my breathing. i didn't realize it was the levaquin until later that night. i started getting giant red spots on my arms and on my forehead. they were on fire and it was miserable... my husband had a bowl of ice cold water and ice packs and rags in the freezer. he was running around like a mad man trying to keep bringing me cold rags. every time he would put them on the red spots, the rags would be hot within seconds. my mom thought i should just jump into the cold shower but i had to explain to her that i was also freezing at the same time. finally my mom did some research and found out that this happens so the doctor said to take benadryl for a few days until the medicine wears off. i will never take that crap again... it was such a weird and terrible experience.

I got my Mirena placed in Nov 2008, the insertion was EXTREMELY painful, I cramped for about 2 weeks afterwards, but a heating pad made it feel a lot better. Other than spotting, like one day it's red spots, next day brown, then nothing, then the next day red, then brown then nothing. But it seems like everyday there is something going on. Not enough for a pad though. My husband is in Iraq, so I haven't had sex on it yet, he returns in January, so we'll see how that goes. I haven't vomited, no dizziness, I haven't noticed any weight gain yet. I was already always tired, so I can't really blame that on the Mirena. 3 kids will do that to you. For the most part I am pleased with my Mirena, but I'm glad to find a site that does share the side effects, cause a lot of these were not mentioned by my doctor. I will definitely keep an eye for them.

I am 35 years old and I was put on Methylpred 4 mg for an allergic reaction to Sulfamethoxazole (septra). I broke out in bad red spots from head to toe. My doctor prescribed this medication for the reaction. I took the last of my 2nd day pills. Two hours later I woke from bed with a painful burn in the bottom of my feet and palms of my hands. It then went to my legs which I took a luke warm shower to see if that would help. I then continued to ad aveeno cream an didn't work, it then started to go through my body in 10-15 minute intervals in different parts of my body. Now when I itch it feels like I'm burning. I can't eat anything cause I have the taste of this pill in my system. This is the only side effect that I have been having with this medication. I noticed today the 3rd day of my pills that the red spots are starting to get lighter. I will never take this pill ever again.

TOOK IF FOR 10 DAYS...ON DAY 7, NOTICED MY RIGHT NECK WAS PUFFY AND SORE (ONE OF THE SIDE EFFECTS) AND ON DAY TEN, I HAD RED SPOTS ALL OVER MY BODY, FACE WAS FLUSHED...HOWEVER, WAS NOT ITCHY. DOCTOR DIDN'T BELIEVE IT WAS AN ALLERGIC RXN BECAUSE IT DID NOT ITCH. THE PHARMACISTS I WENT TO SAID THEY SEE IT ALL THE TIME AND IT DOES NOT NEED TO ITCH TO BE CONSIDERED AN ALLERGIC RXN. THE DR PRESCRIBED CLARINEX FOR THE SPOTS.

About 7 years ago, my husband was prescribed Sulfamethoxazole and within days broke out in hives, fever, itching - as sick as he's ever been - worse than what he'd been prescribed the medication for. 2 months ago, our daughter was diagnosed with MRSA and her Dr. prescribed Bactrim - they told us to watch her since her dad had the reaction - 1 week later, she was covered in red spots and needed a prednizone shot - NOW, I'm on MY 3rd day of Sulfamethoxazole and have a terrible itch on my foot and feel itchy all over - don't know if it's just in my head or the beginnings of an allergic reaction :( Could all 3 of us really be allergic?

I've taken Lisinopril (10 mg once a day) now for two months and am reasonably happy with it so far. My BP seems under control. I bought a BP monitor and record the results on a spreadsheet. Since starting Lisinopril in early May, my average BP is 112/64, down quite a bit from where it used to be. I often check it several times a day. I do have some side effects, the worst of which is light-headedness when I rise from sitting or lying down. I also have some tiredness. Lately I've developed itchless red spots on my right forearm that come and go. My big concern is what longterm use of Lisinopril will do to my body. My goal is to continue with a diet and exercise program and, with the doctor's guidance, wean myself completely off this medicine by the end of the year. I would suggest to anyone who hasn't to buy a BP monitor, record the results and show them to your doctor. The doctors treat you on one snapshot of your BP taken at their office, and BP readings can change dramatically during the day, depending on the situation. If your average BP, say, is 135/80 at home and you're being treated for what the doctor sees, perhaps 160/95, questions arise as to dosage and to the necessity of taking any BP medication at all. walterj

I have had 1 remicade infusion so far for ulcerative colitis. The next day a bunch of spots appeared on my lower legs. There were 30-40 of them, small, roundish, purple/dark red. They looked like blood spots under the skin.
It wasn't a rash and they didn't itch or hurt. My doc had no explanation, and I haven't heard of anyone else having this reaction. They checked my blood for a clotting problem and didn't find anything. The spots faded away over a week or so. My next infusion is in 2 days, so we'll see if they reappear.
I have also been experiencing a weird kind of insomnia where I am so physically antsy I CANNOT keep lying still, I have to shake my body or kick my legs or something. I read up on restless legs syndrome and the symptoms sure sound like what I am experiencing. I don't know if it's connected to the Remicade - I read that iron deficiency can also cause it and I am anemic due to the UC. But since Remicade can disturb the central nervous syndrome, it seems possible. Anyone else experience RLS with Remicade?

Hello,
I was reading the information you posted about the side effects you were having from mirena. I too have been having problems-40 lb weight gain in 5 months and extreme hives/welts with joint pain. I called the FDA in Florida go to there website and they sent me a packet-also would love to get involved in a class-action lawsuit. I have since contacted a Class-action lawyer by the name of Justin Wikin 850-916-7450 to procede with a lawsuit email me with questions if needed

After taking Topamax for six months, I found my self different person.... I started feeling this way just in the first few weeks after I started the medication, but the simptoms incleased with the time....Anxiety, nervousness, panick attacks, negative thinking and depression....crying, making up problems from nothing, hair loss also....I decided to stop it, slowly and without any concequences I thought I am out of it....But just a couple weeks I stop it is I noticed some red spots on my skin on the lower legs, soon they became more and stronger..... Two months later I was in abnormal stress that I am going to be sick from a terrible desease... Read so much on Internet.... I can explain how terrible I felt and even though I did blood tests (everything was in normal range!!) and spoke with so many doctors, nobody could tell me what exactly is wron with me. One Dermatologist named the skin problem as Progressive Pigmentary purpura and gave me a cream for that. Thanks a lot for that because the spots started desapearing, but it may come again.... nobody knows for sure.... I think this is another side effect of Topamax, that nobody had before..... Please tell me if somebody else had the same situation... I will feel much more relieved....

I am a 50 year old female and started taking 10 mg of Lisinopril about 2 months ago for HBP. I also take Lovastatin with no problems for about 2 years. Within a few weeks, I starting having the dry, hacking cough along with the tickle in the throat. I also starting itching over various parts of my body. I starting urinating a lot especially at night. Between the coughing and going to the bathroom, I was not getting much sleep. I was tired all the time and was not able to concentrate very well. A few weeks ago, I noticed my skin was getting little red spots. It finally dawned on me that all these symptoms occurred after I started taking the Lisinopril! I went online and found this site. I can't believe they would put a drug like this on the market! I quit taking the medicine about 4 days ago and my cough is starting to decrease, my itching is almost gone and I am not urinating as much. I have an appointment with my doctor in a few days and will tell him that I will NOT be taking this medicine anymore. I will find another way to decrease my blood pressure without medicine. SOMEBODY NEEDS TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS DRUG!!!!!

Been on lisinopril for about a year for high bp. Seems to help. Don't have a cough and don't seem to be feeling weak or sluggish. Do have a burning sensation on the tip of my tongue and a couple of really sore bumps have come and gone on the last few weeks. Also, I am now developing may little red cherry like blood blisters on my body just about everywhere. I've had the dermatologist look at them and he called them some kind of skin cherry and nothing to worry about. I know they are somewhat genetic and my father has a few but I am getting hundreds of them and it has been within the last 6 months. I was told this medicine dialated the artery going into the kidneys to relieve pressure. Wonder if it is dialating capalaries in my skin causing these cherrys? Anybody else got 'em?

My 19 month old son was given Bactroban ointment to prevent a skin infection. He soon developed little red spots all over his body that grew in size until they reached about the size of a dime. These red spots then began to raise and became itchy and painful (judging by his reaction). We stopped Bactroban treatment and the rash subsided in about 24 hours.

I'm 15 and had a hurt left testicle and was prescribed Sulfameth. I took two tablets a day for ten days. On day ten, I started to get red spots on my arms and chest, then around other areas of my body. Right now I'm going to try Benadryl to alleviate the itchiness. At least my testicular pain is gone, and I have a week off of school to let the spots go away.

Since starting Lipitor, I have experienced small red spots underneath the surface of the skin. These can be caused by a very minor rubbing or scratch. Recent blood work has been normal. Can this drug be causing this?
