I just wanted to comment to all of you asthma sufferers. I grew up with bronchitis and my brother with asthma. We were always getting sick while young, about every 6 weeks. My nephew inherited asthma from my brother, and he had it very bad, was always getting sick, needing oxygen, etc. While in his teens, someone told him to start playing an instrument like the trumpet or trombone which really exercises your lungs. He started taking lessons in school and it didn't take very long at all to notice a remarkable difference. His other siblings would even get sick and he wouldn't! The exercise, being natural, is a far better and healthy prevention, and makes your lungs stronger. I can't believe doctors don't spread this amazingly helpful advice around. I'm VERY sure they must have heard this before. Wouldn't news like that spread like wildfire through the medical community? But they would probably lose some business!!! So I wanted to help pass it around. I hope it helps some of you!

I am a 21 year old female. I have been on 25mg Toprol (twice a day) for over a year now. I was having intense heart palpitations from scary panic attacks... this drug basically cured my heart irregularity. When I first started taking Toprol I experienced some muscle cramps but that lasted less than a week. Overall I have NOT experienced ANY negative side effects from this drug. It is one of the best things I have ever done for myself. I was so scared before due to having at least 5 ‘episodes’ a day with my heart… now I may only have 2 – 3 per week. Such a wonderful improvement! It has really changed my life for the better.

I only took Yasmin for a few months. I am in the military, so I have to run on a regular basis. Shortly after I started taking Yasmin, I realized I was having difficulty breathing when I was running (I hate running, but I had never had problems breathing before) It literally felt like someone was sitting on my chest. I kept pushing myself while working out, and i just couldn't breathe, it was crazy. I had even gone to the doctor and had blood work and chest xrays for the breathing problems! I didn't realize it was the Yasmin, though. I stopped taking it because I realized it was making me very irritable, and lo and behold i can breathe again when I run. It's such a remarkable difference.

My mother has been on Zoloft on and off for 10 years and really depends on it. I started taking it after the death of my youngest son. It has made a remarkable difference in my life. The only big side effect is the awful weight gain!! Will this side effect lessen over time?

Hi everyone...I have had Mirena out for almost 2 weeks now and I am back to my normal self already!!! I haven't lost any weight yet but I know that will come off in time. I, too, am on YAZ and love it so far. I have my phone set to calendar so I remember to take the pill every day or else I will definitely forget.
The best part about being back to my normal self is that I am enjoying my children again. I don't treat them like slaves, yell/scream at them for no reason, or want to be away from them. There has been a remarkable difference in them as well. They are not so whiney and they have more fun with each other. A benefit to that is that my 6 year old who asked me a few months ago if there were any extra chores she could around the house is cuddling with me on a daily basis. She wouldn't do that at all before. She is doing better in school too. My 3 year old is listening better too. I love my girls!!!
So, I am more than happy that I got my Mirena out and equaly grateful that my doctor (who happens to be a man and a new doctor) didn't try to convince me to keep it in.
New life and new me, here I come.
