ive taken advair for 3 years, ive had a few side effects including: weight gain, pains in my leg, and tiredness. i dont know if these are from the advair or not. i never had these issues before taking it. i really dont know what to do. if im not on advair i have a hard time breathing and have chest pains. Does breathing better out weigh the side effects that it causes??? i have problems with inflamation and advair seems to work well with that aspect. Is there natural alternatives? HELP!!!

My 3 year old took 3rd dose tonight before bed. Prescribed for sinus infection. Woke up repeatedly, crying and calling our names and having conversations in his sleep both nights on this med. Very strange behaviours. Seems to be affecting his nervous system and brain in ways I am not comfortable with. Will discontinue immediately. Would encourage others to discontinue use quickly when experiencing adverse symptoms.

I have a really hard time taking antibiotics. The doctor prescribed me Levaquin for a severe sinus infection. Well, I took my first dose of this antibiotic almost fours hours ago, and my back pains are getting to the point I can barely stand up. It feels as though someone has kicked me repeatedly in the mid-to-lower back region. I am not taking another dose, especially since I have a hard time taking most antibiotics, making me experience severe joint and muscle aches. I will deal with the pounding sinuses over what I am feeling now.

Prednisone has been in my life repeatedly since age 12, I am now 40. I get initial side effects of appetite increase, but over 30 years, have seen no major side effects over the long term. I am still on it ocne a month for 10 days, from a 60mg tapered dose. I think it works wonderful on my dishydrtoic dermatitis (excuse the spelling) when nothing else does, and I have tried everything

My son was put on singulair, "the wonder drug" at age 5. He began having terrible nightmares, to the point that he was terrified to go to sleep. He became severely depressed and withdrawn. We were repeatedly told that this was not a side effect and psychological counseling with perhaps an antidepressant should be considered. Thank God, we didn't agree to put him on any antidepressants. After two months or so, we decided on our own to see how he would do off the singulair. Within 2 days, he experienced normal sleep and within one week he was back to his happy self. Still, his allergist insisted this was not a side effect to singulair. Trust your own instincts parents.

I've been taking 30mg of XL for about 2 years. This is an increase of 150mg for about a year prior. Memory loss is the worst! I often go to do something and before I actually do it a minute later, forget what it was I was going to do. I have a very hard time concentrating. I have a job where I have to be mentally fit, and have been going crazy because I haven't been able to concentrate enough to figure out the simplest things. I am losing hair bad, but not sure if I can attribute it to Wellbutrin. I sweat constantly. I wake up in a puddle of sweat and have to turn my pillow repeatedly during the night to find a dry patch. I also sem to urinate a lot more than anyone else. I am up 1 or 2 times every night to use the bathroom. As for keeping me out of depression, it's worked well, but seems to be diminishing. I am feeling more and more depressed lately. My work and relationships are suffering due to my forgetfulness and I am irritable, mostly due to being upset with myself for not being able to concentrate and figure out what should be simple tasks.
I have not found a lot of information about these symptoms online except for this site. Only little blurbs here and there. After reading this, I think it's time to quit and try something else. Does anyone know if the hair grows back and memory comes back or do they just not get any worse after stopping???

my 6 year old son has been taking singulair since may, 2003 for a combination of fall-induced asthma, and migraines. the migraines seem to be less intense, but he has been getting a lot more headaches, in general. about 10 weeks after taking singulair, he began making some extremely morbid statements (i.e., "i wish i wasn't alive..." "would you be upset if i died?" "i wish i was never born..." "i wish i wasn't around..."), and these have only gotten worse as time goes on. he started kindergarten in september, and although he went to a pre-kindergarten class daily last year, he began having panic episodes. as all this intensified, we found a psychiatrist for him to talk to, but he doesn't want to talk to him or anyone else. we're still going, but it's very upsetting for him (and us). he's gone from being a fairly "happy-go-lucky" kid, to this miserable, negative child...seemingly in the time that he's been on singulair. i know these symptoms aren't "known" side effects, but as each person's body reacts differently to a drug, i wonder if it isn't the culprit. it all came on so suddenly, and we haven't been able to find out anything that could have triggered this. the school has been involved, his daycare is involved...and he says he doesn't know why he feels this way (basically, depressed).
so we took him off the singulair just 3 days ago. yesterday, we saw the child we remembered, although today he's been a bit of both. since the drug has to build up in your system to be fully effective, will it take some time for its effects to wear off as well? any information would be so greatly appreciated. there's nothing more heartbreaking than a 6 year old who repeatedly says, "i hate my life, " or "this is the worst christmas ever!"
Thanks! Judy

I have been taking 2 squirts per day, per nostril of Nasonex for 6 weeks now. After one week, I noticed that I had 'air-hunger' (ie desire to breathe very deeply and finding breathing unsatisfying) and the urge to yawn repeatedly. This has got worse up to the current day and I have found that I have to stop using Nasonex as breathing has become distressing. Got checked out by my doctor who says I am physiologically ok.

-- By susanxyz | Reply | (1) replies | Private Message meHave been taking Toprol for several years. A week ago, my pharmacist switched my prescription to the generic Metropolol. I took the 7th pill yesterday morning. Last night, I had a weird dream about a flood and I awake to find I had wet the bed! Almost 60 years old and wetting the bed? It has to be from the metroprolol. That's the only thing that has changed!
